This is a weird Dollar General. It has the smallest entrance and sign I've seen. It is tucked away…read moreoff the road. My GPS took me right to it, but I couldn't see it. But there it is, back off the road, in what looks like a converted warehouse. Right beside the little diner, right across from a little fake lighthouse. Inside it is twice as big as any Dollar General I've ever seen. All the usual items, but lots more variety. I was looking for an unusual cereal, and found it. They only had a couple boxes, but I snagged them. Service was super friendly. Prices are decent though not great. Handy if you are vacationing in the area.

For some reason they don't accept Visa debit cards, but they do accept MasterCard. I've been stopped dead a time or two when I've forgotten about that. But overall, this is where I go to get things that I expect to eventually fail. Like shoe strings and light bulbs. And the occasional giant box of low-grade cookies.

Apart from the kind cryptic creature, the employees are kind and the store is always organized. Much better than the dollar general on the other side of town, the freezer monster there is rather hostile and occasionally throws back stock at me so definitely go to the Family Dollar if you're rather sensitive to mean comments from freezer ghosts.

I have shopped at this location many times over the years for such things as gas for the grill, paper products and over the counter drug items. On my last visit I noticed a self-checkout register just before the cashier waited on me LOL. I've never seen a self-checkout at any Dollar General so I was pleasantly surprised. You can find just about anything at the Dollar General. And they have some of the lowest prices around. And don't forget to clip your online coupons to save more money. The customer in front of me saved nearly $22 by using online coupons, I heard the cashier say. Not too shabby! Service always includes a smile and a friendly thank you;)
