You probably ask, "How can you give 5 stars to a Dollar Tree?" Well, let me tell you…read more My overall experience here compared to other Dollar Tree locations was stellar. First, it was easy to get a hand basket or cart. Plus, they were clean and unbroken. Second, all the merchandise was stocked neatly and in some order. It was not disheveled and scattered all over the floor, as is customary in many other locations. Third, there were enough staff to take care of the store. My wait in the checkout line was minimal and while I browsed the store, a worker even asked me if she could help me find something. That has never happened in a Dollar Tree. ...ever...and I have shopped at their locations all over the nation. So, this visit was worth 5 stars and it will be the yardstick by which I compare other Dollar Tree locations.

That alone should've been enough to make me walk out, but what really made it worse was witnessing the manager mistreating one of the staff members--a young girl who was just trying to fix a machine. Instead of helping her or showing any kind of support, he was rude, aggressive, and kept talking down to her in front of everyone. She ended up crying and had to walk away while the manager just stood there like it was normal. The place is filthy, and the management clearly doesn't know how to lead or respect their team. Never coming back. Health department should probably take a look too.

If your throwing a large picnic or party or need food supplies for a larger office they have you covered. But if your are doing something smaller like 10 people or less stick with the grocery store. Personally on the bulk food side of the store some items are great and some are not as good as the same thing from name brands bought in a grocery store. Things I do like: Pre-cooked meats like burgers or hot dogs in large quantities. large canned goods where you need a lot of the product paper supplies like plates and napkins bulk condiments Things I avoid: breads and pasteries Fresh foods like fruits and vegetables smaller canned items smaller condiments (larger than store sizes but not as good) off brand canned goods are over priced and sometimes of lessor quality Some items like soda and chips are priced better elsewhere Service is mostly good but I've confused the checkers on several occasions where and they seemed to get easily flustered for many checkouts that are larger or not of the normal family size. I find this amusing in that they promote themselves as being for business yet when I place business size orders or pick them up myself they seam easily overwhelmed and often require a manager to assist in finishing the transactions. On the other hand the Managers are always well trained and professional at any of the locations I have tried.

Hurst discount drug is a downtown bardstown throwback drug store/diner located across the street…read morefrom the giant roundabout where the bardstown welcome center is in the very popular stretch or strip mall. You walk into what's essentially a throwback small town version of a cvs or Walgreens with some souvenir stuff, snacks and Knick knacks. In the very back they have an active and working pharmacy. In the other corner you have a 50s style throwback diner that pumps out burgers, dogs, root beer floats and ice cream cones all with counter top seating and couple table booths. Me and my family along with our friends family was in Bardstown for a mini day trip. Our party of 9 decided to grab a quick bite as we heard good things about this little diner. We placed our order and set on the counter top stools. We sampled the menu pretty good. Got everything. From burgers, chicken sandwiches , grilled cheese, chili cheese dogs, Ice cream floats, milkshakes and ice cream. Now unfortunately, our fun trip was struck short by a family tragedy. Right as my chili cheese dog and root beer float arrived my wife received a phone call informing her that her father passed away. The patrons and workers here (small place so no hiding anything) took notice of what was Happening and before she could get off the phone they was placing our food in to go boxes and cups and some super generous and gracious woman already paid for our bill and told us to get on our way as soon as possible so my wife could be with her mom and brothers. Everyone here was super kind and despite the devastating news it gave us some solace that there still was genuine good and caring people in this world. Because of this even If the food and pricing here was not good (which it was all very good and cheap from what we got to try) I was giving this place a 5 star. I scarfed my chili cheese dog down in like one bite while running out the door. That one bite was very tasty and my wife took two bites of her burger before the call and she said it was very good. We absolutely will come back. And I know it's a long shot (bardstown is a small town with little yelp representation) but if the lady who sprung into action before we could even think about it reads this we truly thank you (I wish I would of been of present mind to get an address or something to send a thank you card). Also a huge thanks to that staff who moved and acted quickly to get us on our way so we could be with the family. Truly left a lasting and positive impression that we will be eternally grateful for.
