I rang up the first transaction, before I could even put the first item in the bag, the cashier, Karen, rushed over, "Are you planning to pay for those items? You didn't ring everything up." I explained that I was making two separate transactions and that she should have waited until a theft actually occurred before accusing me of a crime/stealing. Karen, with her tail tucked between her legs walked way and mumbled a slight apology! From the start, Karen had a razor-sharp fixation on me from the moment I entered the self-checkout line. Security cameras are everywhere, so why would I steal a jar of honey when Karen was already breathing down my neck as I was ringing up my items? Words were exchanged, and she called for a manager. Meanwhile, an employee named Bozo, who was not even on the scene when Karen accused me of stealing, adamantly stated, "She didn't accuse you of stealing!" He automatically took her side without knowing what had happened. Bozo, who claimed to be a manager, had a smug, nonchalant, and accusatory disposition, making him extremely unprofessional. A manager? How? He knows nothing about conflict resolution, has no training in de-escalation, and only added fuel to the fire. As a manager, Bozo should have remained neutral until all the facts were presented. Instead, he called in more reinforcements, and they tried to gang up on me...even another customer joined in. It was an interesting dynamic! I kept laughing out of frustration because Bozo tried so hard to demonize me, even though I was the victim. . What't the point of my post? To express that Bozo and Karen are not lost prevention and need more training! I'm grateful to TikTok and other social media platforms for making me aware of scenarios such as this. I was already mentally prepared, which helped me remain calm and composed. However, still flabbergasted by the accusations. Kudos to Brian the manager, he handled things swiftly and professionally. Whether he genuinely cared or not, he at least made an attempt to lower the temperature. I guess I'm lucky? I'm 53 and have never experienced anything like this before. Majority will NEVER experience the micro aggressions, the internal biases, the stereotyping and the prejudgements, lucky you! I will play the FULL 4 minute video on all social media platforms in an attempt to educate about (again) micro aggression, internal biases and stereotyping when it comes to certain demographics.

Self check out line not moving either. Constant issues of "remove baggage for checkout" but nothings there nonsense machines. Constantly fighting to get around the stockers any time of the day blocking paths. Fight around the robot floor cleaner. Olive bar isn't consistent on when it opens (doesn't have the same hours as the store?), & they often forget to put out the lids &/or containers & selection of sizes of containers not available even in the morning. If you put out the olives, why not also put out the self-serve containers so it can actually be purchased? Then no one to acknowledge you to ask for a lid. Inconsistent olive options with cheap fillers like a ton of pickles mixed in at $10.99 lb. Seriously who manages the Olive bar? Mornings sliced meats are not restocked in the deli area. Mornings prepared food in deli are old from previous day & picked over instead of restocked. Produce rarely fresh. Literally dying on the shelf molding or limp. The grocery store brand is extremely low quality, especially the meat. Who wants to deal with digital coupons? Hygiene items under stocked. Like why is there no Oragel, just empty hangers. Difficult at times to get a cart or one that rolls properly.

They only thing to keep in mind while shopping here is the date on the packaging. But don't let that stop you from shopping here. I worked in the snack game and the date on the packaging is only the shelf-life date. This is the date that a company puts on their product to say that it should be sold by this date. It is not an expiration date. As long as the bags aren't open it can last for months past that date. Now just keep in mind once you open the bag you it will go bad much quicker than a brand new bag. They also usually have free samples right by the front door. If you buy something they put a couple snack bags of usually Goldfish in your bag for free.

Luckily, I had an event close to Lancaster that allowed me to make this quick stop to check this place out. It's located next to a Disney outlet store, too! Pepperidge Farm is a classic snack staple in many households, and I was really excited to see what offerings and discounts they had. They had gift baskets, bulk items, discounted Goldfish crackers, cookies and more! My favorite area was the freezer section, where they had puff pastry sheets in bulk (at a fairly good discount), frozen soups, lasagnas, and more. If you end up purchasing their Pepperidge Farm reusable bag and bring it back for future purchases, you get 15% off each time (on top of all discounts). There's plenty of good deals here, as I maybe got about 5 boxes of puff pastry sheets and 5 bags of cookies + goldfish for about $35! The staff here are super friendly and show you around, and there's a lot of interesting flavors and even gift baskets for people to check out. As you walk around, you forget that Pepperidge Farm also makes things like stuffing, bread, and other items. Everything is neatly placed, and it's super relaxing to walk around and browse everything. Check it out if you can!

All the reasons why I stopped coming here are flooding back to me now. Unfortunately the discount…read moregrocers I patronize has been weak on grocery staples. I've been constantly having to waste time and go to multiple stores to accomplish my weekly shopping. Ain't nobody got time for dat! So today I went to do my shopping. Same problems that they've always been plagued with. Full cart corals, understaffing, no baggers, out of inventory, stock done during the day blocking the isles......and on and on. Except now they have a robot that roams the store looking for spills and taking up space. Wouldn't he be more useful checking stock? The increase in grocery delivery service means employees with huge carts pulling orders also taking up floor space. Don't they have a designated store in town for that? This is in addition to the restocking that is done during the busiest times. It's a 24 hour store. Restock overnight. It's not rocket science! Or deli lines so long you could easily waste 40 minutes. Although the "remodel" is complete they still move things around....weekly. Wouldn't these employees time be put to better use maybe at deli or bagging?!? Registers are still a tight squeeze yet they expect you to bag when you can't even get past your cart or are in the way if you do. Lots of room for improvement in all areas. Guess what Giant, there's two new grocers in town within the past year. You better step up your game.

Many years ago I was hesitant to come here. I'm a planner. I like to review ads and sort through…read moremy coupons to meal plan instead of going to the grocery store blindly. I have a budget and I like to stick to it. However a friend insisted I come here 15 years ago. Back than I wasn't impressed but did get a good deal - my husband, met him in isle 2! But sadly it was another 13 years before I ever went back. Frustrated with the ever raising costs of groceries and my hatred (yes, strong word but my feelings are strong) for my local Giant I gave them another shot and am glad I did! Since my first visit many moons ago they became more like a regular grocery store, offering more than just snacks and all the departments (meat, diary, canned, produce, etc) that you would find at your local grocer just on a smaller scale. Unlike the old days they now have bags! No more sorting trying to find a box for your loot! I admit I still don't shop here exclusively for my weekly grocery shopping. I'm still a planner and like to go in with a list and leave with every item on it. While you can't do that here you will knock off a good chunk, especially if you are not partial to a particular brand. I have seen flyers from time to time with their specials but don't think it's something they do on the regular so it is hard to plan. You never know what you'll find till you get there. Where they excel is juice (in both price and selection), cleaners (although not cheaper than Dollar General), snacks, and freezer items. I also think their prices and selection are good on cheeses and dairy products although you need to watch the dates closely. Pet food tends to run more and the selection isn't as great. And while they do have a nice, but small produce selection that looks good in the store I'm disappointed 80% of the time on its freshness when I get it home. Organic brands can also be found here, although not as plentiful as other discount grocers. Meats are also hits or miss, some weeks I find hamburger/chicken priced higher than Giant and not looking so good and other times (like this past week) I hit the jackpot with both freshness, selection, and price. I don't know if they take coupons but it's worth looking into. They do however offer a $3 coupon if you sign up for their emails. Be sure to bring a pen to the store as you add your name and phone # to the bottom of the receipt showing the money you saved and they have drawings to double it. There is a clear box for entries at the window by the exit/entrance. This is not common knowledge and something you have to find out on your own. I've never won but typically save in the $65 range on $100 worth of groceries so I'd love to win me some $130 in free groceries! Also...if you see something your family uses on the regular at a good price, stock up! It might be awhile till you find it again. And who knows, maybe if you're lucky you'll leave with a significant other...like I did!

You have not stayed competitive..... when you can find better prices at Wegmans and Giant for certain things, it's a huge sign of trouble. I want to continue to support, but when I have to sift through a lot of low quality products to find the few great deals you still have, it's simply not worth it. I'm more shocked at some of your pricing than Giant. Disappointed. At least train your employees to be better and support them if you must.
