Their boasted chicken is 5 star. They always provide large orders on time, quality pieces, and…read moreready to pick up if you call ahead and schedule it. Their broccoli salad it top notch. Great selection of beers and liquors. Meat selection is very good for a small town store. They have always accommodated a custom cut if needed and answered my cooking questions. I've never had a problem with the deli staff. In fact, I'd prefer to have able bodied seniors working behind the counter. The Pig provides a great employment opportunity for the young High Schoolers who often lack basic worker skills not taught in school. I've never had a problem with their bagging and their asking if I need help taking out the purchase. If you are going there to buy customer service instead of chicken, then maybe you should look at the one star review where someone had a problem which I never experienced. If you are going there to buy top quality fried chicken like the one star reviewer's husband's favorite, then ignore the one star review. I suppose that you could call ahead and request a 12 piece order before you go there to save a wait and guarantee the order. PS This week I had a neighbor call and ask if I had any charcoal to cook their steaks. They had sent their dad out to pick up some dinner fixings before they noticed that they were out and he didn't have his phone. I called the store and gave a description and requested that they look for him and inform him to pick up the Grove charcoal. Using this low tech facial ID lol and notifying the checkout staff, they caught him and had a great grilled steak dinner. Now that's what I call customer service.

I've been shopping at this store exclusively for four years and I've never had anything but…read morepositive experiences here. I'm astonished at the negative reviews here, there isn't a better store within MILES of here. Perhaps they're from a different era somehow, because I've never had these problems. The owner is wonderful, and his employees are a reflection of him somehow. They're always pleasant, always helpful, always ready to find something for you, always ready to accommodate you if you need any help whatsoever. The items that are advertised as special are always available. During COVID I've always felt safe, and the employees always do the required safety measures that are up to date at any time I've gone there. I can't undo these bad reviews, but I can say that my experience has never been anything but excellent.

I'm sure I'm being a bit petty but heads up don't buy alcohol here. The woman who just checked us…read moreout was rude, cold and insulting. I tried to joke with her about how I missed my home state of WI and make nice but she was having none of it. She then asked my partner for their ID and we couldn't tell if she was joking but then coldly said if they didn't hand it over we would have to wait outside the store to be checked... whatever that means. She shouldn't be working customer service. So much for the small town WI kindness I used to adore.

Where the "French" am I?!?…read more "So this is where you end up when a few family members pass and you haven't seen the rest of your family in 10 years" said one fellow to another. Of course, this missing teeth, no shirt, cut off shorts wearing guy looks back at you like YOU'RE the one who is crazy, you wonder why you don't keep your thoughts to yourself more. I think I finally understand what country people do when they don't have a tv, they go to the grocery store for entertainment. As I walk through the Piggly... (Sorry, I can't stop laughing when I say their name) trying to find something to eat (having a family of carnivores). Also, TRYING not to be bitten by the wild children running amok, I finally reach their produce area and with my wallet and my fingers still intact. I'm immediately taken back by how low their prices are. I look up to meet all of the staring eyes to confirm this amazement. Then I realize they weren't staring at me because of my reaction to the prices, they have been staring the whole time I've been in the store. It's probably because I'm wearing a shirt and am groomed I figured, so I moved on. I stocked up on all kinds of fresh produce, they had everything and plenty of it. I track down my brother, who had some of the same experiences with the locals like I and we make our way to the liquor area to meet the rest of the family. Their snack isles (yes there is more then one) were impressive but not as impressive as their liquor area. They even have a walk in cooler. Prices unfortunately was pretty much the same as back home so I just got what I needed. My only complaint here are the lines. I couldn't understand what was taking so long until I reached the cashier. I'll be nice but I'll just say that I really wasn't expecting to hear this girl's life story along with her family's and friend's. Each item was scanned but only before a story was told... I wished I ate less. I couldn't help but turn to my brother (who was being picked at by some kid fascinated by his fall jacket Like the kid has never seen one, he tries to brush him off but the kid just won't go away) and I start to laugh a little, as if saying "Is this for real"?!? I will say Piggly Wiggly (hehe) has a great selection and great prices, with service that you'll never forget. Be careful of the parking here, the lot gets a little tricky. You know with people form of transportation like goats, horses, and donkeys** around. **No actual farm animals around

The postings for Woodman seem to emphasize their massive liquor store and imply that they may have some few groceries attached. To the contrary! Their beautiful grocery store is so large It probably has its own planetary gravity. A few pictures attached - highlights are that they have a really wonderful fresh fruit and vegetable section with exotics that I wasn't expecting, great selections in meat, dairy and helpful, smaller sections with household and even hardware or school/stationary supplies. Also a very extensive Asian food section so you don't have to go hunting over town if that's on your list.

I saw a worker putting some food in a cart and asked why. I was informed that day's before the food even expires they throw it away. Not the day it expires but DAYS BEFORE. It is so wasteful and so insulting to people that would probably kill for that food. Instead of helping the homeless they just added to the never ending garage. Perhaps they even take it all to either the garbage mass that is in the Atlantic or the Pacific
