This was our first trip to the area so I bought food to cook from home, and left a few meals out thinking we would eat at a nearby restaurant while checking out the area. At the time of the trip there wasn't any snow or predictions for snow where we lived in New York City, so I was surprised the day of our check in when we passed the outskirts of Albany and saw snow. Long story short, it was very cold, it snowed during our trip, and thankfully we were in a lake house with amazing views and large windows. We didn't want to go anywhere, but needed to venture to the store for more food. We found everything that we needed to sustain us for the remaining days. We don't eat meat so I don't know if they had chicken, beef etc., but we pulled what we needed from the shelves and frozen sections. Employees were super friendly. It's a small lake town, everyone waived as we passed them by which was refreshing. This was the only grocery store within the immediate vicinity.

They use REAL eggs, and even toast the hard rolls. Those sandwiches hit the spot, very tasty. They also sell King Brothers Dairy products, their chocolate milk is the BEST on the planet ! Literally mom and pop owned by a couple that really cares about the area, the community, and giving back. They're known for their subs (see my pic of the menu) and indeed they are tasty. A 12 inch will run you $6.40 for most of them. They also offer up BLT's and hot dogs with a few baked goodies as well. It's basically a small convenience store that sells lots of camp supplies too as it is literally opposite the entrance to Lake Vanare campground. Can't miss this place as it's right there on 9N. Great owners offering just what the area needs. Open year round and it will be doing an even brisker business once the hiking trail at Potash Mountain goes viral come spring 2018.

All the major departments - produce, meat, seafood, dairy, were stocked almost to overflowing, with good regular and sale prices displayed prominently. The store is brightly lit and the aisles are wide. There are 2 self-checkouts. The employees here are really friendly and chatty. If it ever expands (and if it does well, it should be considered), add some more hot food stations and a salad bar.

If I had to do a 3-word review of Tops, it might be: "What Sara said." Having been a CHS alumni and…read moreall too familiar with "The Grand Union experience" of the past, as well as some other Tops markets, I was expecting the worst here. I did find a few redeeming qualities in the store. In fact, I'd prefer to shop here than some of the bigger chains with whom I have to deal, such as Stop & Shop. I came here at what could have been one of the worst shopping times - the morning before Thanksgiving, 2 hours before a blizzard was to arrive. There was no chaos, the shelves were well stocked. The produce was in good shape though the floor should have been swept. The employees are small-town friendly, because this is a small town and you get to know everybody. A lot of the prices are indeed way too high. This included some (but not all) produce, poultry, dairy, and soda. Over $2 for a 2-liter bottle of Tops own brand of soda? Fortunately, there are convenience stores in Corinth now, such as Stewart's and Cumberland Farms, where you can - and should - get a lot of these types of items cheaper. But I did find a few surprisingly good deals and loss-leaders among the overpriced stuff. Clearly you can pick and choose among these items to not spend a fortune. But if you're looking for a full cart's worth of groceries, you can probably drive to other grocery stores in the area and still come out ahead in the money you'd save on the groceries versus the cost of the gas.

I especially like their butcher counter where you can grab marinated meats and custom cut steaks etc...Unfortunately, on this visit I was disappointed that they ran out of their daily special. By the afternoon they no longer had any whole or half portions of ribeye. It's nice when you can have it custom cut to your liking. When I'm out and about, it's not always easy to get there so early so it's a bummer when you are intent on something specific. I really like their fruit tarts too. They come individual sized, as well as a standard pie size. It's the perfect bite after a meal or whenever as it's not too sweet and it's quite good. Lastly, the shop is always nicely organized and the staff is helpful. All this makes for a regularly pleasant shopping experience.

Made the best Chimichurri tacos on the grill tonight courtesy of Fresh Markets meat counter and their amazing marinade!! So glad the gentlemen at the meat counter were so prompt and helpful while I was making my selections. I will definitely return for the meat counter. It was my husbands birthday, so I also grabbed a cake and some desserts for the fam -- the cakes are about what you would pay at Price Chopper, but in my opinion, they appear to be made with more attention to detail. If you're having a hard time finding birthday candles with numbers, they have a huge selection next to the cake counter and some Birthday cake pieces as well. The way to shop at this store is by learning the regular sale days. Tuesdays deals are: $5.00 12 inch pizza $3.99/lb Chicken Breast $5.99/lb ground beef $5.00 rotisserie chicken Fridays deals are: 2 for $5 burgers Each week they choose a different fresh deal, so you'll likely find a deal for $5.00/lb meat. This evening it was carne asada chicken breast cutlets. Other elements that I really enjoy is that their olive bar has Dolmas!! It's the only one that I know of that carries them in the area. Never realized how difficult it is to find specialty food until I moved back to Saratoga from Texas. Plus, my kiddos love going with me for the candy by the pound jars -- they really love getting to make their own selection and mix. While I do find the market to have steeper prices, I do enjoy the convenience, but I have to shop the deals.
