They became the leading supermarket by putting a strong emphasis on customer service. They bring the adage "the customer is always right" to new levels. Add to this fantastic BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and that alone makes for a winning combination. Add to this the iconic subs that they make in their deli (affectionately known as Pub Subs) and they become virtually unbeatable. These subs are pretty amazing. I usually go with their Italian sub or their roast beef. Both are excellent and I guess anything you would order at their deli counter would be a winner. I must say that I woukd definitely recommend this particular location or any Publix, for that matter. I choose to give it five stars for their steps in making sure a visit to a Publix is always a wonderful experience.

I was in Jekyll Island for a conference and we had candy at our trait booth. The attendees ate all of the candy the very first day and I needed to run out to the grocery store and buy more. I chose the Harris Teeter on Saint Simons because it was a familiar brand. I ended up getting a foot-long sub and had half for dinner that night and then saved the other half for another evening. I randomly was driving around the island and went to the Jekyll Island club, which was absolutely gorgeous. I went back the next day with my leftover sub from the hotel refrigerator and had a picnic under the beautiful several hundred years old white oak trees. It was such a special moment that I had to take pictures. It was an ideal picnic.

Although some aisles were blocked while employees stocked, many other aisles were clear and less foot traffic than other grocery stores. We easily found everything we needed and the selection was great. Checkout was really fast and no lines. Only one star was lost for the aisles being blocked and the tons of carts in the parking area. Otherwise, we love this store and will be here often in the future.

Attempted to return few items purchased from previous day. Put credit card in credit card machine,…read moreseveral times she told me it's not the card I used. I expressed to it's the only card I have and use. I'm showing you a digital receipt. Anniha kept telling me I didn't use that card or purchase from that store. I expressed that the gentleman behind the counter is the person that helped me to get someone to get someone to dressing room to unlock. She flat out said " I don't care who you say helped you", and we're moving on from the card and receipt I will give you credit on a store card. I finally found paper receipt in my purse and told her I have my receipt as she's handling me the store card with credit. I explained I want it put on my credit card I put with as shown on my paper and digital receipt. With an attitude as nasty as can be she said "I said we've moved on from that. I said no I gave a paper and digital receipt with the tags for these items and the credit all go back on my card. She didn't like it and eventually did put on my card with a great deal of attitude. This store is not worth going to, id rather spend a little more at Target!!

We ended up ordering a couple of sandwiches to have there (an Egg Salad on Sourdough and a Chicken Club) and then a few sandwiches to take back to the hotel for our children to enjoy (several Turkey Wraps and a couple of their Mudslide Cookies). All of the elements of each sandwich were good quality and fresh. Special shout out for the Egg Salad, which was a traditional southern version made with just the right balance of mustard and mayonnaise... delish! We will definitely be back!
