It made me think are all stores in Clear Lake are all bad. Because just 2 establishments right next to each other were bad. It was a small shopping trip. I found some good deals with in-store coupons. I scanned 2 coupons and it had a validation problem. The self check out attendant was able to clear it. But I can't scan the 3rd coupon because I forgot to ring it up. So, he came over and did something. After I completed the transaction and found no coupons were used. I asked him what happened to the coupons. He said they were already applied. I didn't have time to argue with him. After I got home, I checked my photos. Bull fuvking shit!!' Such a liar. I could have saved $3.50 with coupons. I'm not going to drive 50 miles to talk to someone in Clear Lake H-E-B for adjustment. I'm not going back to shop in Clear Lake anymore. After these 2 incidents, I'll skip to the next town or just do my shopping in Houston. I'm so angry. I still have to get to an H-E-B store get these figured out.

The new owner made me cry when I went in and saw a piece from my Uncle's store with an original picture framed in the cabinet. He asked I was OK and I told the the memories of the store and where everything was way back when. He was delightful, customer friendly and his customers are like family to him. He has a clean store, well stock shelves and takes pride of his store. I wanted to buy a Zero Sugar Soda drink and a water. He wouldn't let me pay. So, I bought a few Lottery tickets (I never do), but if I won, he would too. It was the least I could do to thank him. Of course, we stop in all the time now. I am glad he is the owner. My Uncle would have been pleased.

Located on the island of Bolivar near Crystal Beach, the store is vintage turquoise. We stopped by to purchase a beach parking pass because you can actually drive on the island beaches. The inside is not fancy, no big box store displays. The lady behind the counter was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. She told us how and where to look for sharks teeth on the beach. They sell iced down beer and other beverages perfect for a hot day in Texas. They also are set up with coffee and fountain drinks. We found sand toys and a small amount of fishing gear. There was a limited selection of grocery essentials. And, of course, snack foods. Outside, they sell Shamrock gas. The only rest rooms were a port a potty outside. Oh my! But I still give them 5 stars because they are friendly, had what I needed and took me back to my childhood. A definite oasis near the beach.

I thought I had gone through the majority of them, but apparently when I got home the broken part was upside down. Who the heck runs this store? Why do you constantly allow your employees to put our food that is bad or broken; especially, eggs??? Furthermore I bought two cartons of milks and butter and some Akin's drinks. They do have small appliances, but nothing large along with some furniture, but no couches. Two common themes that you'll find here are "when it's gone it's gone" and "good stuff cheap". For the most part, there's definitely a lot of deals to be found here, otherwise things are almost at Walmart pricing. They do offer a rewards program in the form of a credit card.
