You can come here and run into just about anyone in the daytime. It's less congested and more peaceful in the evenings if that's your thing. You can dance or fart in the aisles if you want lol. Customer service is pretty good on the floor. I think they do a pretty good job staying stocked considering they're always busy. The front end is comprised of a lot of young cashiers who socialize with each other a lot. They do get the job done though. I wish they had a larger produce section, but that's just me. It's hard to find items for the health conscious individual at this location. I think those type of items aren't as popular. Their automotive and sporting goods department, on the other hand, is the best I've seen at any Wal-Mart. I didn't get a chance to scope out the garden area, but I'd like to see that too!

I was in Broken Bow on vacation when my son suddenly had an asthma attack. I called the Walmart…read morepharmacy to have them pull his prescription from our home Walmart in Frisco, TX. The person I spoke with, Shavonne, showed absolutely no sense of urgency. I even provided the Walmart RX number, and she told me, "I'm not pulling him up, so I don't know." I asked her to try searching my name instead -- she couldn't do that either. As someone who works in the healthcare field, this was extremely concerning. "I don't know" is not an acceptable response when a child is having a medical emergency. I then told her it sounded like user error and asked for a manager. She said the manager was busy. I told her I would hold. The manager eventually called me back (my phone had lost signal), found my son's information, and said they would get the prescription ready. I thanked her and told her we were an hour away -- she said that was fine. When we arrived, the pharmacy was closed for lunch. Given the urgency of the situation, they could have easily said, "We will be closed from 1:30-2:00," but no one mentioned this at all. I asked a regular Walmart employee if they could please get the pharmacist because my son was having an asthma attack. They tried but couldn't reach anyone. They ended up calling an ambulance -- and the ambulance staff was amazing. They immediately gave my son the medication he needed. While my husband stayed with our son in the ambulance, I ran inside to pick up the prescription since the pharmacy should have been open again. When I got to the counter, I was ignored for about two minutes until Shavonne finally came up. I told her who I was and that my son was currently in the ambulance outside. Again -- no urgency, no apology, nothing. She told me the medication would be $120. I asked if she ran it through insurance. She said my son "doesn't have insurance." He absolutely does, and it should already be in the system. She then asked Bella if she had the insurance card. I handed her what she asked for, and she snapped, "This is medical coverage." I told her she needed the RX card -- which she should have known to ask for in the first place. I didn't have the RX card with me, and she said, "Well, that's the only way I can proceed." I told her again that my son was literally sitting in an ambulance outside. She said, "I'm not going to help you." The ambulance staff came inside and asked if the medication was ready. I told Bella to please repeat what she had just told me. She said nothing. Suddenly she wanted to act like she had been providing great service, which was absolutely not the case. At that point, I told them to just ring it up at whatever price so I could leave. They told me it was $50, but Shavonne rang it up as $83. My son DOES have insurance, and this pharmacy was completely incapable of helping an out‑of‑town family in a medical emergency. Jason, the manager on the floor, did purchase the other medication my son needed, and I truly appreciate him and the store employees who helped call the ambulance. My issue is solely with the pharmacy. As a healthcare professional, I am shocked at the lack of empathy, urgency, and basic customer service shown by Bella and Shavonne. They need immediate retraining on customer service, communication, and professional conduct. I am giving the store itself 2 stars because the regular employees were helpful. But the pharmacy experience deserves 0 stars. This was unacceptable, especially with a child in medical distress.
