No Mustangs and Cameros, but you can get a Jeep, not that many tourists are off-roading it. Mostly they have Nissans that are a little under 10 years old, easy on gas, and actually fit well on the tight roads and parking spots typical on Maui. Experienced tourists rent here and don't get ripped off!

I feel bad I forgot his name. We checked in and out within 5 minutes and we were in our car and on our way. Returning was also a breeze. We probably saved about $40/day in taxes.

We only needed the car for a day and booked ahead of time (highly recommend). They are open from 8-noon. We booked it for 8am and only had one group ahead of us. The desk is right next to the hotel reception/activities desk. The guy gave us the usual rental information then gave us our keys and told us where to find the car. The rental cars are on the top floor of the parking structure across from reception desk. Enterprise parking spots are clearly marked and numbered to find your car. To leave the lot you use your Marriott hotel key (blue band) at the gate. **This is not listed anywhere I could see, but you CAN return the car same day after hours.** It was very easy. When you return to the parking structure you take a ticket and leave it on your dash so they can see when you returned the car. Then park the car in one of the Enterprise spots. Then bring the keys to the Hotel reception employees. The next day I received a text and email when they processed the car. Easy as that! (This was early June 2024. Lines might be longer in the busier seasons. There is only one computer/employee.)

It has to be one of the easiest, fastest car rentals and returns I have ever done. I have often been disappointed at other jurisdictions after making a reservation for a certain car and upon arrival been told, they "don't have that car on the lot right now." What is the point of reserving?! This way I was able to ask what they had, rent and return it completely trouble free, and like I already said, at a great, competitive rate. I had read quite a few negative reviews of Enterprise and Budget there in Maui before travelling many, many miles to get to Maui, and that was why I first tried Avis. They certainly did not disappoint. Would give them a definite five stars. Thank you, Avis. Really helped make my holiday a success.

On every level at every step it was TERRIBLE. 2+ hours in line, incredibly rude and hostile workers, botched spot to pickup the car, car was crap and dirty, dropoff was botched (no email confirmation). It wasted almost 1/2 of our first day on Maui to deal with the car rental, and every moment was frustration. Thankfully none of us have a health problem, as if you are a diabetic or have any need for a bathroom, food, water, etc., you will be SOL while standing in line. You should plan as if you are going on a 3 hour hike - bring, food, water, meds, maybe some sort of light folding chair, a book... etc. INSANE!
