They told me just bring my ID but when I got there they asked for 3 references! I had a brand new phone with practically nobody's number so they could only speak to 2 of my 3 references and they said that because of that the check was high risk and Saturday they charged me the maximum 10%!!!! (I got a $50 break). The check was for $5000.00 so $450.00 to cash the check. NOT COOL. Why didn't they mention the contacts requirement when I called? And how's a contact going to help them if the check' s no good anyways? What's a retired daycare owner going to do about it? I don't get it. And to make matters worse, they offered to give me a debit card with $50 of my money on it with Free loading for the first time. A Green Dot debit card and NO MENTION about the $1 95 "PER USE CHARGE" (that's what Green Dot calls it) for every transaction! $15.63 Uber charge - BAM! $1.95 PER USE CHARGE - $4.63 CIRCKLE K charge - BAM!! $1.95 PER USE CHARGE. I was declined for insufficient funds for a $0.79 soda at Circle K before I realized I had squandered $7.80 on fees. I'm a senior citizen on SSI so I don't have money to waste like that!!!Thanks for NOTHING!!! And they told me to call ahead when I get the rest of my settlement so they can make sure they have the funds on hand. Seriously??? After gouging me on the check cashing fees then sticking me with a debit card with a $1.95 per use fee. I'm calling ahead to see what they expect to charge me today.
