Definitely our favorite out of the ones we tried in the area. This gelato spot is very centrally located amongst all the other small shops and restaurants in Bellagio and even if there's a line, it moves quick! The hazelnut (nocciola) is a MUST TRY as it literally tastes like a Ferrero Rocher in gelato form. We enjoyed other flavors as well including the cherry (amarena).

Gelateria del Borgo is truly amazing and in our top 3 for the entirety of the trip. Usually very busy but the line moves quickly. Super nice staff and plenty of seating just across. Most gelatos in this part of Italy are more soft and airy this specific gelato is rich and creamy, almost wet. Pistachio is great, dark chocolate is awesome and unique flavors like Toblerone the family loved. Highly recommend. Make the walk to the top and don't have the tourist trap gelato at the bottom of the promenade here in Bellagio.

Date of visit: May 25, 2025…read more After a wonderful meal near La Galleria, we needed something sweet and found this lively spot to score some gelato and a piece of cake for my non-dairy husband. Lively isn't halfway describing this place, madhouse is more like it! You start at the kiosk and you don't pick your flavors of gelato, just the type. Then you wait in line for them to call your number and people are jumping in front of you as though that will get their number called first (spoiler alert: it doesn't). But it is quite hectic and if you ordered cake too, that's at a separate counter and takes a crazy amount of time for a piece of semi-dry cake. The gelato itself is very good, it's just small for the price and the wait.

There were two workers acting as cashier, server and entertainment as they both swore at the phone each time it rang. There was a bit of a wait as each person was served, but everyone got their gelato eventually. A plus of this franchise is that they drizzle a coating of chocolate of your choice (white, milk, dark) inside the cone before placing the gelato inside. The gelato itself is creamy and light, with the chocolate flavors being more intense. Very good and worth the wait!

If you go to Milan, you should stop here. It is located just behind the Galleria (world's oldest…read moreshopping mall) and Il Duomo (the marble cathedral). Yes, it is a little bit "touristy", but lots of fun. They have savory (such as prosciutto and cheese) and sweet (chocolate). If so, divide and conquer: One person find a place to sit (steps in front of the cathedral?) while the other goes to order and bring back the goodies.

There's always room for dessert, especially if it starts with "g" and ends in "o": G-E-L-A-T-O! We decided to get fancy and do our "merendina" (snack) and sit down with our group of friends and order directly from their menu. The kind gelato waitress came by and took our order, we were about 6 adults and 5 kids. These guys had so much patience and brought out our orders with a big warm smile and delicious gelato for all. I ordered a custom gelato cup with pistacchio (MUST TRY) and nocciola flavors. The gelato was so fresh and creamy and melted right in your mouth. As I write this, it's making me want more! Our friends ordered gelato filled crepes, gelato topped waffles mad right in the moment, gelato cones, bowls and all the good stuff. Everything was delicious and it definitely was worth it. The prices were a little more than your average cup of gelato. If you feel like indulging and spoiling yourself, this is the place to do it! Bottom line: go get your gelato, now! :)
