I walked straight up from Milan central station to come to this - while passing cathedrals and all, you can come here (4 mile walk). Try not to pass by. Sign isn't too obvious. Ambiance: very casual. Both inside and outside. Menu: short and sweet. English is ok! Service: minimal, but chef brought my pasta! - Gluttony Expedition - Lunch half & half ravioli: Lemon & saffron ravioli (yellow) was very light and gentle fragrance. spinach one was light and tasty. Both a bit harder than I'd like but cooked well. Very tasty and big portion for me. - Conqueror's Deduction - 4.5 stars. I walked all the way from Milan central station for this! Very homey yet tasty fresh pasta! The looks are a bit unassuming, but they do offer great pasta!

I found this hidden gem on Yelp when I was looking for a quick bite before my Last Supper…read morereservation. We walked up to this tiny location to find one table for two available. We were provided menus that were quite simple. Two types of pasta were available (long or short) and they were able to be prepared a few different ways. I had the long pasta which resembled Alfredo noodles with black pepper and parmesan cheese. The dish was simple and the pasta was fresh. They offer a short list of beer and wine to compliment the pasta. During my time there I saw many people attempting to get in but the place was full. Several parties waited to get a seat. The service was good, the food came out quick and was exactly what I needed before my reservation. The food was also inexpensive. I noticed a disclaimer when I exited that this location is "not a restaurant" but serves a sampling of a larger restaurant. 4.5 stars!

I literally wrote 4 paragraphs and Yelp glitched and deleted my draft…read more Please make sure to ask them to charge you in Euros because we didn't get the option by the owner and he charged us in USD which costs us more. He's been in business for 44 years so obviously he knows but still charged us in USD which is kinda shady IMO. We decided to dine here due to all the reviews and photos posted. When we approached the restaurant, the owner immediately said "Ni Hao" which I thought was kinda racist. What if I wasn't Chinese? Mink felt offended but we committed to dining there so we did. He asked if we wanted to dine inside or outside. Since it was chilly for Mink, we opted to dine inside where it was 90% full due to a Chinese tour group. They all had the same dish so we figured preset menu for them. I wasn't sure what I was going to get but since they all ate the Ossobuco con risotto alla Milanese in Crosta, I decided to order that as it was one of the dishes I was considering. Mink ordered their Spaghetti ai frutti di mare. I'm not sure why but the owner exclusively took care of us. He also made it a point to bring a photo over of Jay Chow saying he's dined there 4-5 times in the last few years. Maybe that's why the Chinese tour group eats there? He was arrogant enough to brag about how much money he's made because of Jay Chow. There were lots of celebrities that dined there from what gathered looking at his wall of fame. I bet he didn't charge any of them in USD *smh* The Ossobuco con risotto alla Milanese in Crosta was really good and probably the best we had in Milan. They must be able to make this dish with their eyes closed at this point with the daily Chinese tour groups dining there. Their Spaghetti ai frutti di mare was decent but didn't have as much seafood in the dish as other restaurants and the flavor was about average. The bread and EVOO offered was legit though! I loved it and I normally hardly ever eat the complimentary bread. Food is good overall and customer service felt extra. If we didn't get charged USD, wasn't getting bragged to about how much money he made off Jay Chow and wasn't greeted with a "Ni Hao" then the place is 4 stars. Since all that did happened, 2.5 stars.

This place does classic Italian food. Pizza, pasta, and risotto are the primary menu categories,…read morethough they also have calzones and some meat dishes. They have seafood and vegetarian options of all the classics. Four cheese gnocchi is my favorite pasta dish here. The tagliatelle with ragu is ok, and their carbonara is popular and beloved, even if it's very heavy. Their gnocchi is very soft, but all other pasta is definitely al dente. A margarita pizza is only €4,50 and I think you can get two meals out of it. The calzones are also huge, especially for only €6. It might not be mind-blowing pizza, but it's good stuff. They have a lot of different combinations of toppings, even if they don't serve (my favorite) pineapple on pizza. Taking pizza or a calzone to go is also a nice move for a quick dinner. A standard size water bottle is €1,50. Individual prices of meals typically range from 6-12 euros. They also have wine and will split the cost of a bottle among a group. The staff are hit and miss for niceness. Try to speak Italian and it will be appreciated. Also, pay attention to prices and remember what you ordered. You go up to the counter at the end of the meal to pay, and they expect you to know what you ordered. They also don't have takeaway boxes. If you can't finish your plate, they might encourage/shame you about eating more. Maybe it's an Italian thing?
