I had a pizza hankering and we were in the area. This place had some great reviews and it lived up for us! The waitress was super nice and on top of it. They gave us two tiny buns as an appetizer and they were delish. We got the onion rings for an appetizer and they came out fast and hot. We both ordered a medium pizza so we'd have lots of leftovers for home. It was also out quickly and was very tasty as well. The seating area is smallish and not fancy, but everything is clean and well cared for. We will be back to try other things here! read more

Completely unexpected hole in the wall surprise In Hagerstown, MD. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana (excellent) and hubby the chicken Marsala. The chicken wasn't to hubby's taste and they replaced it within seconds and brought out the spaghetti and meatballs, which was very good. The tomato sauce on both dishes really makes the dish. If you're getting anything there, definitely get something with the tomato sauce. The service is wonderful and fast. The best part. The value. For $20, I got my wonderful eggplant, bread, garlic bread, salad (that had actual vegetables on it,) and doughnuts. Amazing. We will be back. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by Dolce! I'm rarely in Hagerstown but the Italian/Eastern European combo seemed intriguing, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant isn't super elegant, but the food and service are top notch. Everything is homemade fresh, from the dinner rolls they serve you first to the desserts (they give Romanian donuts on the house at the end!) Dolce has traditional Italian pastas and pizzas, as well as a section labeled European Dishes that has multiple Romanian specialties. We tried the chicken cacciatore and Julia's stuffed cabbage leaves for our entrees. I recommend the cabbage leaves - they were yummy and unlike anything I've tried before. The free donuts at the end was the perfect way to end our meal. They were kind of like beignets - mini fried doughnuts with powdered sugar. Lovely little restaurant. Must try for the Hagerstown area!! It's a small hole in the wall family owned restaurant. The family is from Romania. The pizza is one of my favorite things here, as well as the Lasagna. When you dine in they always give a homemade roll with butter as an appetizer and a donut kind of funnel cake with powdered sugar as a dessert. It's a smaller space but kind of cozy inside. Service is always pretty quick no matter how busy it is and they are very friendly and always up for conversation. Overall, it's one of my favorite places to go in Hagerstown! read more

The lasagna is delicious! I always have enough for 2 meals and it's meaty. The tomato sauce is deep and flavorful which tells me she let that sauce simmer and reduce, giving it a more rich taste. Mama, the chef, has me coming back often. I love her homemade donuts! I bring a new friend each time because I want this little niche to do well. Her sons are polite and serve a nice meal. The prices seemed a little high for such a tiny place but the portions are very large and the spices just right. Worth every penny and then some. Only problem I have ever had is getting in there as the restaurant is small and well liked. The calamari had been cooked a bit too long although the flavor was good. The donuts were similar to beignets. They were good. Service was pretty good. Came for a quick birthday lunch and it was just perfect. It's small so if you plan on coming with a larger group this might not be the best option. Might be an inconvenience for some but I personally enjoyed how intimate my experience was here. You can see the cooks cooking your food from pretty much anywhere in the restaurant when seated. They only had a handful of employees but the service was impeccable. They had daily specials but even with them being specials the prices still seemed pretty low so I was quite surprised by just how good the quality of the food actually was. After our meal we were given some complimentary donuts.... And stuff like that I find very special. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Hagerstown. Upon good reviews I decided to try their pizza while staying in the area. The place is small, size of a person's house? I called in and picked up the Greek Pizza. I always enjoy a visit or two each time I visit Hagerstown! However, I was disappointed to learn that Chef Julia only works in the morning now. She has a talent for working hard to create delicious dishes for her guests while taking the time to come out into the dining area to chat with each table. I was not sure I could still enjoy dining there, but her family and friends are doing a great job of continuing to prepare great food and make you feel at home. I had the eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti and a salad with house dressing, which is always delicious. I believe Donna's version of the eggplant is even better. I also tried the Moussaka, which seems to have lost the Greek spices that I loved. It is much more like a ground beef lasagne with a Marinara sauce. The fresh in house pizza dough rolls and the complimentary homemade donuts are always a treat! I hope to see Julia on my next visit from NC! I owe her a bottle or 2 of wine! read more

Third time attempting to try this spot and so worth the rainy visit! Stopped by to grab lunch for my partners birthday, we've had our eyes on this spot for a while now. We went around lunch time and our lovely greeter told us to sit anywhere we wanted. She offered us house rolls (I would describe it as a balled up fresh crunchy pizza crust in the most delicious way possible). We shared a veal parmigiana sub with fries off the lunch special, perfect to share or just save the other half for later. The homemade lasagna..... the portion on itself was insane. The sauce had a bit of a sweet touch to it (I liked it i know it's not for everyone), didn't know it came with meat jam packed full of flavor. SO glad we ordered that! It came with a salad, it was my first time seeing it with actually grated cheese huge slices of cheese that was major points right there. The whole experience had me excited with each bite. The garlic bread toasted to perfection; it had a bit of an open face kitchen so you could see the chef prepping all the plates and he did NOT miss a beat. Kudos to him during lunch rush. Last but not least the dinner plate my partner had to try: The pasta carbonara. Confirming it is most definitely a dinner portion; hearty, super saucy and the noodles cooked al dente. It was hard to stop taking bites to pack it all to go. There's a few more dishes on my list i'd like to try it's a must come back. The waitress and chef had such a flow with most of the restaurant being full; don't get me wrong it's not that big but that's what keeps it intimate and have the cooks out their all in the dishes.
