Our old boy!

Dogtopia - Waterfront was recommended by our veterinarian clinic. Many staff at our vet use them for grooming and boarding so my husband and I gave them a try to groom our three English Labradors. Super friendly staff and it was easy enroll them. Completing paperwork on their health history and vaccine records took a little time, but I appreciate how thorough the registration process is to ensure all dogs entering their facility regardless if they only have a grooming appointment. My oldest Labrador can be pretty stubborn and they communicated right away that they were unable to complete the job and that we were welcomed to come back for another go. They were really caring and considerate that he was an older dog and that they did not want to cause him any discomfort or pain trimming his nails. Any dog owner would appreciate that! They get five stars from me due to their quick response times, excellent customer service, and compassion towards my pups. I would recommend to anyone looking for those qualities in a dog grooming service.

Why I love Dogtopia of South Waterfront: 1. The team is professional and very patient with my timid girl. 2. Cleanliness. I knew I signed up for extra work when I got my fluffy white pup but the facility at Dogtopia is kept so clean that I have not had to adjust Isla's bath schedule even though she goes 12 times a month. One time Isla sat in an accident and they gave her a complimentary bath which I really appreciated. The staff at Dogtopia also keep notes/reminders on your pet. When Isla goes in for a bath, they know her preferences so you get consistent care every time. 3. They have frequent dress up/theme photos. It brightens up my work day when I receive her photos and I know it is supporting a great cause. 4. Web cams. First time dog mom here and I can be some what of a helicopter mom. Love that I can creep on her when I miss her.

Dogtopia photo booth - fall themed day!

Dogtopia is exceptionally better than other doggy daycare centers. They really value fun and safety and will actively train your doggo while they're at daycare! There are tons of events to keep things fun and exciting, lots of treat theme days, from peanut butter treats to bacon day. Dogtopia will take themed photos of your dog for various celebrations, and the proceeds will go to their Dogtopia foundation which sponsors a dog for a veteran/service member. My dog always comes home happy and tired from daycare. And she always smells wonderful, too. They wipe down each pup before being picked up. Overall, wonderful place and am so grateful my dog has grown up going there.

Finally, there is a professionally run place to take our dog to! The staff here is super friendly. It's so obvious this a labor of love. Very clean, no smell like other centers in the area. They have a state of the art air filtration system. You get what you pay for. Love this place. Don't waste your time looking at others in the area. No one lives up to the standards Dogtopia sets. Thank you team Dogtopia. Wish you all the best of success.

We love love love taking our puppy Jax here! Mapsy, Blakely and the entire team are amazing! The fun days they have for the dogs with proceeds going to the foundation are so worth it. We have a membership and will continue to have one because Jax is so happy! P.S. the webcams are addicting to watch to see your fur baby having so much fun

We came to dogtopia with a quarentined, awkward puppy and her high energy, timid rescue sister. Two months later our rescue dog is a social butterfly and our puppy is learning vital social skills. Our puppy had no idea how to interact with anyone outside of her sister. Going to dogtopia southwaterfront has enriched our dogs lives and  most of all moms get a better night's sleep anytime the girls goes to doggy daycare! The girls make friends and have so much fun with the coaches. Great customer service and our girls come back smelling beautiful everytime. The communication is amazing as well as the awesome webcams so we can still check on our babies! Our dogs get excited to go and don't even look back anymore! The adorable photo days are just a bonus!

Mapsy and Chelsea were very understanding upon our first visit (meet & greet) and slowly introduced her to 1, 2 and then more dogs.

Our dog, Shaka, just loved spending time with her and the other pups she cared for. We were a little worried at first about his temperament being around others (humans and other animals) since he gets a little skittish, but he seemed to thrive there. When it was pick-up time, he was always happy and seemed to sleep very well from getting his exercise and socialize in. (He also smelled great on his longer stays. Thank you for the baths!) Jen is super flexible and communicative. We were so appreciative of this since we tend be rather spontaneous and would ask to drop him off the day before sometimes. We also would extend his stay last minute, for example, when we were taking road trips and wanted to stop for the night instead of driving all the way through a town. (Sorry and thank you so much, Jen!) Shaka has stayed over from one day to two weeks (possibly more), and each time, we've received text updates from her and even pictures of him happy with his friends. I always looked forward to those. Shaka passed away early last year, and I've been meaning to write this for a long time to say, "Thank you, Jen!" for being such a wonderful caregiver and trustworthy and friendly person overall. Dog parents, I 1000% recommend Jen.

This pandemic and the immediate changes to everyday life have been quite impactful for many of us. And for a business which relies on people dropping off their fur kids on the way to work, one can only imagine the repercussions! Brian has kept the daycare open throughout the pandemic, as a resource for essential workers, as well as those of us who rely on some socializing and exercise for our pups during the week. The staff has been wearing masks, requiring masks, meeting dogs at the door to limit contact. And keeping the facility sanitary and safe. All while coping with the flux in staffing and scheduling. The facility remains clean, safe, and in fact has been upgraded in several areas to help keep the play area cool, "fresh" and comfortable for both dogs and staff. I encourage pet parents who have been clients to please keep supporting Brian and his team. And if you are new pet parents, or new to the area, please consider Buster & Lilly's for your fur baby's needs. They are terrific!

I'm posting this now after reflecting on my dog's daycare history over the years, as this was the…read moreonly facility where we had a negative experience. Several years ago, I brought my dog here for daycare. During one drop-off, as I was about to drive off, he was able to bolt out of the facility and ran across the parking lot (in the dark!). Thankfully, a passerby caught him quickly and he was not injured, but this raised serious concerns about supervision and containment during handoff. After that incident, I continued bringing him back to use up pre-paid passes. From that point on, he always refused to leave the car-which made me concerned. Staff later told me he had developed a humping habit and said that if it continued, he would not be able to return. This was difficult to reconcile with what we experienced elsewhere. After we finished our passes, we used another daycare in Beaverton, where he had no issues. Since then, we've moved states a few times and gone to multiple other daycares in different locations, and he has consistently done well without any behavioral concerns. I understand that staff and policies can change over time, so this may not reflect the current operation. However, I think it's important to share past experiences related to safety and how dogs are handled following a stressful incident.

I've been referred to Howliday Inn by more than one trustworthy folk and have had only professional and kind interactions with Dylan and every member of the entire team. I was super impressed when we first started to get a very warm and through introduction and tour and could tell just how much care and thought goes into all the details of this operation. During one daycare day, my pup went through a little (non-contagious) health episode and started showing symptoms while under the care of this watchful team who called me right away so that I could get him into the vet. We have enjoyed both daycare and boarding services and each have been positive. I always appreciate hearing updates about behavior observations when picking him up at the end of a day--truly demonstrates how much attention is paid throughout the day. Grateful for the entire Howliday Inn team and the loving and dedicated care they provide my best fur bud when I'm not able, and in ways I simply can't related to socialization and other dog play!

We started with Howliday in daycare in 2014 with our Irish Terrier: outgoing, rambunctious and not always interested in following directions. Great standard of care for each of our very different pups. These guys are a caring and trustworthy treasure. HIGHLY recommend!
