On March 20, Dogtopia claimed to be understaffed. Instead of refusing the dogs for daycare, they allowed drop-offs to continue as normal. Instead of calling owners for pickup throughout the day, the staff crated as many dogs as possible for the entirety of the day. They neglected the crated dogs until they soiled themselves. At one point, the staff turned the lights off in the facility so that you could not see what was happening inside on camera. When confronted later, they claimed to rotate the crated dogs "every 20 minutes" but this was not the case at all for our dogs who we watched for hours while trying to get off work to go get them. We were told they "can prove" the dogs were let out. We requested the footage but have yet to be provided with it. Our dogs were covered in urine and required baths as soon as we got home. The stress levels of the animals must have been incredibly high to be crated all day in their own filth. When asked why the staff did not call owners to pick up their dogs, we were told no one was manning the phones. Yet somehow someone supposedly called corporate for assistance, so phones were indeed manned. When asked why corporate did not notify owners, we were told "nothing I say will make you feel better". While this is true, I believe the answer is they did not want to refund the money for the day. The situation was negligent, cruel, disgusting, and abusive. Dogtopia cannot be trusted with the care of animals. No care, common sense, compassion, or respect transpired. read more
