After his bath.

I took my dog Tucker who is a California dog , to Dogs Retreat over Christmas. This is the second year Tucker has been there at Christmas. Both times he loved his stay. He went for several days and loved it. The staff is amazing, caring and made me and Tucker feel welcome. He also got a bath and he looked and smelled so good. I'm a nervous dog owner but I totally trust everyone at Dogs Retreat! He was so tired after his fun days. I highly recommend them for your precious dogs. RoxKasroxkas

This is the greatest place for my dog! He has terrible anxiety but Theresa never turns him away. They learned how to manage him and I'd never use another boarding place for my dog.

Charlie had been a day-camper and boarder for nearly three years now and Teresa and the rest of the DR staff are fabulous with him.

Colonie animal hospital is a great place to bring your vet for high quality care. The front desk…read morestaff is attentive and greets your dog with a smile and hello! Even when the vets and techs come to the vehicle during COVID-19, they still remember my first dog when I bring her! I recently began bringing my second Fur baby! They really get to know your animal, their health, and offer cost effective solutions or tell you what you need to do self correct at home. This place also gave treats which my dog LOVED! The exterior may seem run down and the inside may not be the best but the staff and team here have hearts of gold and love and care for every animal walking through the door! Keep up the great work I gave appointments next week :D

Yes, this is the ugly building on a crappy part of Central, but the inside and staff makes it warm and inviting inside. It looks like they may have remodeled the waiting room and exam rooms recently. Everything is bright and very clean. The first time I visited and was put in an exam room, I took the time to look around to see how clean it was, and it seemed pretty spotless, especially for somewhere that messy animals come to everyday. The staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to make your dog feel like family here. The staff always remembers Leah, and also asks me about my Mom's dog as well. I think this place may be pricey compared to others, but I can't say for sure since this is my first dog. My dogs neuter was somewhere in the $600 with added testing and microchip insertion. It is $15 for nail trimming here, the flea and tick is $75 for a 6 pack - just for some comparison. I would not use this place for boarding because they do not have someone there all the time tending to the dogs, which makes me feel uncomfortable. All in all, I would recommend this place to someone, and I will continue to take my dog here until I hear a recommendation for somewhere better.

Brook, the manager, told me he had given her no problems other than when she went to wipe his paws before bringing him out to me. She offered me a rag and when I asked what it was for she replied it was for his "piss paws". I was shocked. Why was he standing/laying in his own urine/feces? Was he expected to eat in that same space? He also hadn't eaten the food I provided (his normal diet) so Brook took it upon herself to feed him "canned food" I don't know what kind. Again, I never received a phone call to authorize this. Brook knew he had skin allergies (he was there with both his anxiety and allergy meds-neither of which were dispensed to him) and random food can cause this to flare up. After getting him home and thoroughly brushed, bathed and fed, I contacted the facility and questioned his poor condition and was (for the first time) told my dog was uncooperative and attempted to bite... again, I was never told this until that point. If I had known there was an issue, I would have gladly okayed using a muzzle as needed. I am upset and concerned and will NEVER let my dog come back to this facility. He has boarded at other places and never has he ever come home in such a horrible state. On the contrary, he always comes home in pristine condition. I never write reviews but feel this is necessary and people should be aware. I'm sad because I like to support local businesses but this is one I cannot get behind.

They are so accommodating and helpful. I was running late to pick up my pet and there was no problem at all. I will definitely be back.

My puppy was "banned" from here because apparently he pees and poops too much...mind you, it called House of Dogs, so you would think they'd understand that dogs urinate and have bowel movements frequently, especially as a 6 month old puppy. Interesting enough, we now go elsewhere for his grooming and boarding and have had a very pleasant experience with 0 complaints so clearly the dog is not urinating an abnormally large amount, rather they just are not capable of handling it. So for that and the fact that they no longer want to care for our puppy the 1 Star will have to do.

At a glance the waiting room is a dump so I can only imagine what the back room looks like. After three and a half hours we picked her up only to find in my opinion the worst hair cut she has ever had yet. Even in comparison to the ones I gave her myself. She had matte's in her ears and razor burn everywhere tuff of hair here and there bald spots and smelled like flower scented carpet cleaner. I could go on and on she said she gave her a hard time and may have sores on her neck do to pulling. If after 25 years of cutting dogs hair and you have never dealt with a hard to handle dog well then I guess your to sheltered or maybe it's just time to just retire. After we got her home she was so unsettled could not stop moving. After convincing her to let me brush her ear out and a few treats and lots of hugs and a long walk did she finally relax. So if you don't mind your dog being abused a little and ruffed up only to receive a trashy haircut , and pay way too much for this haircut be my Guest. But as for me and my dog that is the first and last time for us.

Also forgetting to use the dental brush to brush his teeth, even though I paid for it? I was polite and did not say anything. I overlooked it because she seemed nice. I started noticing I could not get an appointment. My calls would get rejected text messages would say: read: but never no response. I called her off of my husband's phone she answered right away and I said maybe it's my phone. Are you not getting my text messages? to which she lied and said oh no I didn't. I found that weird, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and said that's OK. I would like to have my dog groomed. I have a golden doodle puppy. He is not feisty nor aggressive. Never had any complaint from her for a few times I brought him in, but for some reason, she is not letting me know why she is ignoring my calls and not responding to my text messages. I referred my friend to her and she accepted her appointment right away within minutes. something is very wrong and weird here, she also told me she had to do multiple surgeries and she will be out of work for months. to which I said I hope you are well and you recover just let me know when you are up and running. so I figured she was going through her own situation, but now I'm thinking was she making up lies? just to not take the appointment ? that is very unprofessional and disrespectful. If you dont want to groom my dog anymore for some odd reason that would've been OK. just let me know what was wrong or give me a reason as to why do you not want to take my dog for grooming? I paid exactly what Tina would request plus tip. everytime is that how you treat your so-called clients? she works out of her basement in her home. Again, I don't know what went wrong but that's not how you treat people. I have attached two pictures with text messages which clearly shows she reads my messages as soon as I send it, but it's just not interested to respond. We never did anything wrong to Tina or her business so I'm not sure what happened here but I am very disappointed.
