We live in…read moreBrooklyn, but my in-laws live in Albany, and we generally wait to schedule haircuts for our pup until we're in Albany just because we like Sundance so much. The first time I dropped my pup off there, I was naturally a bit nervous, but when I came to pick him up (and I was about 30 minutes late), he was hanging out in a play area waiting for me, and looked totally relaxed. I felt so much better about this than I did when he was sitting in a cage waiting for me to pick him up from his last groomers. Sundance had also taken a little video with my pup which she posted to fb where he was totally at ease. The most recent haircut took a lot longer as it was right after Christmas, and Sundance was super busy, but we understood and also our pup was perfectly relaxed when he came home. His haircut was a little longer than before, but that's because it's winter in NY. Honestly, the peace of mind knowing that my pup is being taken care of by someone generally interested in his well-being means I'm happy with whatever haircut he comes out with. their humane business practices are also amazing. If I could make any suggestion, it would be - get blueberry shampoo!

The salon was very clean. They were very professional but friendly at the same time. My old man is 3 lb on a good day. He is very fragile and very dramatic. During busy times, there's even someone in the parking lot radioing ahead to the counter to announce your dog's arrival and prepare the team to receive them. These experts know better than I do about all aspects of this process, and for that, I am truly grateful. When it's time for pickup, a friendly call informs you that your dog is ready, returned to you gleaming and gorgeous, accompanied by a debriefing of any concerns. They are my first-line defenders when it comes to Saydee's overall health, including her body, teeth, fur, and ears. The only thing that would improve things would be Saturday appointments (the hours are Monday-Friday), or late evening appointments during the week. It's not a huge inconvenience to take an afternoon off or to work from home every 9 weeks for us, but I can see how it would make it easier for a lot of people.

It ended up being almost $500 and I got the same treatment with the manager. I explained beforehand that they had several mats due to my Won dog being disabled, and it is extremely hard to move him around and he needs to rest a lot. My other Newfoundland again was groomed beautifully. She did not need as much attention, but I was charged the same amount 250 for each dog. Yeah, that's outrageous. Finally, they have so many dogs that they're grooming. It takes them longer because they do not have enough staff. I was disappointed with the outrageous charge of the cost.
