I called her on a Sunday morning super early because no other place was open to board my dog for the day. I was bussing from Maple Ridge to Metrotown, and she not only met me at a sky train location (so it was easier for me to drop my dog off), but also met me at another sky train location to give me back my dog. She sent me photos of Tucker, my pup throughout the day, and when I got him back at the end of my day, he was exhausted (HOW I LIKE HIM!). To top everything off, she was super friendly, and gave me a goody bag of homemade dog biscuits to take home. Literally amazing service.

Dogsmart was recommended by a friend who raved about their instructors. Tracey, Masumi & Alice all were calm, patient and helpful as we did Beginner Life Skills, Tricks & Games, Shy or Fearful Dog, Dog Out & About and Dog Care Basics. Annette - the friendly lady at the front desk also kept on top of providing multiple notifications for upcoming classes and was always there to help. Training isn't easy and the style might not be for everyone. You will be grilled about how you are working with your dog in all aspects. Words you say, actions you take, actions you didn't take. You will learn a different order of doing things, be asked about what you're doing at that moment but have to listen and visually focus on your dog all at the same time..! My advice: Be patient and practice the activities to the best of your ability! Ask follow-up questions in-class or privately via email and come prepared to talk about what your dog is doing week to week. Retail therapy: there's a shop with a selection of training toys, treats and supplies. It's an awesome spot for anyone looking for new treats to engage your dog at reasonable prices. My shy uncertain dog has grown to like this place and open his little heart. I worked behind this facility for a couple of days and would never leave my dogs there…read more I have seen a sweet Husky with a black harness sit in a cage alone for most of the day. Another Husky (possibly same dog, couldn't see through the gate) was crying and howling constantly, obviously extremely stressed and was left outside alone in a kennel space for hours. They walk around with spray bottles and spray dogs for barking or to separate them when too excited in play. They are constantly yelling at the dogs to be quite. There are other facilities in the area that people could use that will be a better more balanced environment for your beloved pets. I used to train so am well aware of what is acceptable and the dogs here sound as stressed as dogs in a local shelter. It makes me very sad that their humans have no idea the stress their dogs endure in this facility. The people may be nice but not a good environment for your pets. I had to give a rating to post but I would give them 0 !! Interesting......minutes after I posted this the crying dog was removed from the yard....that means they know it was wrong to leave the poor dog like that just ignoring his cries. The dogs' well being not the priority here! What you don't know can't hurt you.....only your dog :(
