Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience and will not be returning. When I dropped my dog off at 12:00 PM, the staff had forgotten he was scheduled. I was told they close at 4:00 PM and to keep an eye on my messages for pickup. At 3:45 PM, I received a text stating my dog would not be ready until 4:45 PM -- after closing time. A five-hour grooming appointment has never been my experience in owning multiple dogs, and the delay was never properly communicated in advance. I also received an automated "thank you for visiting" email while my dog was still there, which added to the confusion. When I arrived at 4:40 PM, I asked about the extended grooming time. The response was that they "don't want to push any dog," which I understand, but again, that was never communicated earlier. Instead of addressing the concern professionally, the owner was dismissive and condescending. He stated he didn't care about the customer, became defensive, and did not acknowledge or apologize for the lack of communication. Rather than working toward a resolution, he suggested I return to my previous groomer. I replied that I would rather make the two-hour drive to Skiptown in Charlotte than return here, even though this business is local. His response was sarcastic and continued the unprofessional tone. At that point, I simply wanted to pick up my dog and leave. Since then, I've spoken with others who have shared similar concerns regarding overbooking and poor customer service. I hope the business improves its communication and customer service practices in the future. read more

Always great service and great grooming for my dog. Been going since I moved to York. And a neat online scheduling system. I had family visiting from out-of-town and had prebooked an advance appointment for my dog. But at the last minute I took in a rescue who needed a bath bad. Didn't know or I would have made 2 appointments. Even though D&F was booked up they made the space for me to bring my original dog and the new rescue at the same time. SO APPRECIATED!!! We took our English Cocker Spaniel pup in for a grooming and couldn't have asked for a better experience! The groomer, Ashley, spoke with us prior to make sure she understood exactly what our needs were which we greatly appreciated! I placed an online order for an item that I was thrilled to find since it's long discontinued. My dog has severe allergies, so changing up his products is really difficult on him and on me. The order went through, my card was charged via paypal, and I was happily awaiting my replacements. 3 days later, I got a one line email from the owner stating the product was not available, do I want something else? That's all the note said. That was a surprise -- why would the order have gone through (the website said they had 900 in stock. That's 3 days I could have been looking elsewhere, plus the time and effort put into placing the order). I'd even said in my order notes I was so happy they had the discontinued product for my allergy dog.... So then this happened after my reply (a simple few lines, unhappy about how order went down and urging better business practice in the future, requesting immediate refund). Direct copy from my email: "For your information, I didn't charge your card. You did. You paid through PayPal, they are AUTOMATICALLY charge. If you have an issue with that, then you don't need to pay for purchases using PayPal. It is their policy, not mine. Secondly, the reason, I didn't email you back the day after you ordered was because I was contacting my network of pet stores owned by friends, in hopes that they might have some in stock and I could get you the products you wanted. Something, of course, I did not have to do and most if not all normal people would consider exceptional business practice. I could have looked at this as a waste of time, but when I'm running a business and trying to help a customer get what they want, I don't see it that way. Also, I do not have your information other than email and mailing address (which will be deleted). I never see anyones credit card info. Again, it is processed through PayPal. I guarantee you that your info will not be used for any reason. I wouldn't waste my mailing/marketing resources through snail mail or email to contact you. Your money will be refunded as soon as I finish this email. You might want to consider better personality skills. Something you seem to be lacking in. In my twelve years of business, I haven't come across someone quite as rude. For that reason, I am quite shocked also. Bottom line: the owner's vindictive behavior harms my DOG, whether or not he has any people skills. We love Dogma and Fetch! We're new dog owners, and we're looking for somewhere to get our Maddie's nails clipped. I called and they said to bring her in Saturday afternoon. We got there and there were several people in line in front of us, so they suggested we look around the store while we wait. So we did! There is so much to see there! An incredible selection of supplies, treats, toys....just about anything you need as a dog owner! A few minutes later the groomer came and got our pup and took her back. She was quick and did a great job with her nails. Maddie was happy when she came out, which was great! It was her fist time in public or getting any kind of grooming service, so it made us feel better to know she wasn't stressed there. We recently moved to York and have just fallen in love with this charming store. ANYTHING we need for our four fur babies can be found here! I hate using chain stores when something this wonderful is right around the corner. I feel like I could spend hours in there looking around and still not see everything! My first visit there I took my Australian Shepherd with me and Jordan spent a great deal of time with us helping us fit her with the correct harness, leashes, and a few more items I had been looking for. My 96lb sheppard lab mix abby got her hair and nails did today. This was our first visit to #dogma and fetch, and i have to say first how great they made us feel. Not at all like the giant chain puppy mills. And my girl smelled so good and looked and felt so good. She liked them and so do I!!!! We got her a new seresto collar there too. They have everything for your furry 4 legged family members! And they also serve you in a manner that makes you comfortable and lets you know that your baby will be treated as if it were YOU! This is one of cutest pets shops ever and I've frequented many over the years, hands down Dogma and Fetch is the best. They have a huge variety of fresh baked goods that are too cute. Our dogs have loved every treat I've brought home to them and we have the pickiest beagle ever. The bakery items all look so much like people food someone in our house accidentally ate oatmeal bites. After being told they were the dogs treats, our daughter laughed and said well they were good! Dogma has a wide variety of toys, clothing, pet foods, crates, crate bedding to name just a few items. When you go to Dogma be certain to go upstairs where you can find gifts items for every pet owner. If they happen not to have something you are looking, if it's available any where they'll find it for you. They also offer grooming, with a ton of different add on services. What pup doesn't need a blueberry facial??!! Nails painted? Yup it can be done at Dogma. We have a smaller sized beagle as well as medium mixed breed dogs. Our mixed breed pup was horribly abused before we were lucky enough to have her move in with us. Bc of her past abuse even having her nails clipped required a trip to the vet to be sedated just for a nail trim. While having one of our others girls nails trimmed at Dogma they offered to clip Sophie's nails, we declined and gave the reason. The groomer offered just to give it a try, if Sophie became anxious we 'd stop. She walked out that day with a nail trim and hasn't had the need for a sedated nail trim. Over the years we always bathed her at home as well as used a de shedding tool, she did shed a lil less. We just couldn't stay ahead of the shedding. While talking to a neighbor about suggestions she mentioned Dogma offered de shedding with grooming. Although Sophie had no issues having her nails trimmed there I wasn't certain she'd be ok with grooming but considering they'd done such a great job working around her anxiety in the past we gave having her groomed as well as the de shedding treatment. I was beyond shocked when we picked her up that first time, in a good way shocked!! No worries of your pet sitting in a crate waiting their turn as I've seen at other groomers. The beagle is in and out in an hour or even with Sophie's thick, thick coat she's not been gone long either. The fact that our girls aren't sitting in a crate for hours in just another plus!! You won't be sorry you gave them a try nor will you pup, plus who doesn't love buying or obtain services local??!! read more

terrible customer service! Their hours are not listed anywhere by them so I went off the hours Google posted of 10-6 got there at 515 and they were closed. I left a voicemail (which also doesn't list hours) letting them know the issue and wanting to know the hours and no one returned my call. I made another trip out there and the gentlemen working was rude and almost attacking when we asked about the hours and let them know about the voicemail. The shop is lovely and my only complaint is that it is a bit too dark. The groomer were very nice and did a great job on my yorkie. The did have trouble with my chorkie but that was understandable as it was his first time and he was not cooperative. Because of this they didn't do a complete cut on his face as they didn't want to stress him out. Hopefully he will do better next time as I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

We were searching for our dog's favorite pillow, a large "Sweet Dreams" pillow to replace her aging one. The item is very difficult to find, but Jordan at DOGMA&FETCH went on the hunt & located two of them! It took a few days, but he doggedly (pardon the pun) contacted suppliers until he located the pillows. Called two weeks before Christmas and asked to hold a Yorkie for me until the week of Christmas and the owner was very rude and wasn't will to work with me. I offered to pay the full price of the puppy up front and also offered a boarding fee. A week later the dog was still available on the website and they had reduced the price. The Monday before Christmas I called. He had previously told me the longest he could hold the dog was three days. On that Monday I told him I was still interested in the dog and that I would go ahead and pay him up front and asked him if he would hold the dog for the three days that he agreed to. He told me he would not do that for me. The next day I sent my boyfriend to get the dog. When my boyfriend got there, the owner asked was he getting this Yorkie for the sneaky little bitch that kept calling about the dog. To make a long story short he refused to sell the dog to my boyfriend. By far the worst customer service I have ever seen from anyone. Would not spend a penny of my money at this store! read more
