Doggy daycare is the best invention ever! My 16 month old Australian Shepherd has endless energy and having him in daycare two days a week is an absolute god send. He comes home happy and exhausted. Doggy Haven is the cleanest and most friendly facility I've seen and it's close by, thankfully! The dogs literally all look like they are smiling and now I know why! Top notch service, great package discount pricing and lovely clean and safe facilities. It's definitely peace of mind that they are so thorough with health and temperament assessments beforehand too. Our dogs stayed here for the first time last week. As far as i can tell, they had a nice time (I didn't pick them up so I didn't get to talk to the staff). 3 stars isn't bad, it's very A-OK. I'm just not crazy about it yet. I plan to bring my dogs back and get to know the staff better. I got a tour, and the facility is really nice. The dogs get a ton of play time, and I love that. One of my dogs can get very snarky, and the staff kept a close eye on her and there were no problems. Like I said, i plan to bring my dogs here again and get to know the facility better. Well, my dog gives Doggy Haven 4 stars! Dasa had a super time 2 weeks ago staying at this boarding facility while his mom and dad were in Seattle having their own fun. The facility itself is large, clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly, helpful and seem like they really enjoy being there with the animals. Dasa got a room with a window so he could look out at the playground and not feel so confined. Music plays all night so the dogs don't feel alone (which I love!). Once Dasa was home he slept for about 2 days because he was so worn out. He sure did look cute in his red bandanna they gave him after his bath. We will be using Doggy Haven in the future for sure! read more

I've never used the boarding service at this place, only the grooming for my Aussie and Training for my Border Collie Mix. The groomers here are awesome. They listen to the style you want for your dog, as well as offer suggestions. My Aussie is a shy nervous dog, but he is always relaxed during the grooming sessions and looks great when they are done. As for the training, I highly recommend Kim and Jen and the levels training classes. We adopted a Border Collie who had no training, and very little social skills. The levels are great because you can move at your own pace. If your dog needs more time to learn, they get it. And if they are a quick study, they can move up to the next level as needed. We also used Kim for individual training sessions and her knowledge and experience shined through every session. She is great to work with and provides so many resources outside for Doggy Haven so you can continue training. read more

I am NOT pleased to be writing this review about Doggy Haven but when I receive lousy customer service I need to speak up. This is my 3rd time here and the 1st appointment was great but now it has taken a big turn for the WORST, since. First my 2nd appointment was CANCELED the morning of and this was after I had already given my dog her sedatives and was ready for the Grooming appointment. I received a call from the front office staff while I was enroute to Doggy Haven that they are canceling my appointment due to the Groomer having to leave work unexpectedly and that they could not get me in for that day and I would have to reschedule for a later date. That is horrible customer service and it really upset me after having given my dog her sedatives for just that appointment. Ok I rescheduled for approximately 3 weeks later due to scheduling. I called Doggy Haven front office the day before my appointment to verify and confirm that we are all set. Boy was I WRONG. The front office confirmed and said that we were all set to go. OK I thought that I was good and wouldn't have any problems. Nope I was wrong. The morning of the appointment my dog had a small potty accident so I bathed her and I arrived approximately 5 ish mins late for my appointment but she was ready to go and again I had given my dog her sedatives for the Grooming appointment. When I arrived I was met by a really rude lady that was checking in my dog. She started with starring at her watch and saying that your dogs rabbies records have expired and that she needed them within 5 mins or that we would have to cancel the appointment (literally while holding her hand out with 5 fingers) how rude. I was really caught of guard and since it was a Sunday my vet is closed and advised her that my dog is up to date and all of her shots and vaccines and that I submitted them during our 1st appointment and that I had called the day prior to my appointment to ask the front office staff if we were all set for my appointment and was told yes. I could have easily asked my vet on Saturday (the day before when I called Doggy haven) to fax over my dog's vet records so that Doggy haven would have the information that they needed but AGAIN I was told by the front office staff when I called the day prior that we were all set to go. This again is horrible customer service. So back to the the morning of the appointment at check in. The rude lady finished her spill and then I told her about my horrible previous experience and that my dog is up to date on her shots and that my vet is closed but I may have my dog's health history print out at home and AGAIN I reminded her that I had given my dog sedatives only for this Grooming appointment and how much of a inconvenience and waste of my time these experiences have been to result in my dog being given sedatives and yielding in NO HAIR CUT! Also I reminded her that I had called the day prior to verify my appointment and that I was good to go and was told YES by the front office staff. Her reply was I don't work in the front office and it really summed up my experience with Doggy haven resort. They have lousy customer service and I will NOT be going back to this place again. I would have given zero stars but that was not an option. Plus to find out that I have a 3 year rabbies vaccine for my dog that expires in 2024 that is on file with them. Debbie has twice groomed our Samoyed, Lucy, and each time she comes home looking great! The staff overall are always kind, making recommendations such as using the correct lead instead of a harness. This should help keep her fluffy hair from getting matted. The facility is well kept and they offer a lot of services at one location. We discussed some training options as Lucy is young still and they offered some custom tailored options that weren't included on the website. It's nice to know they'll work with us as individuals rather than just another paying customer. I definitely recommend looking into Doggy Haven for great priced grooming. I used two services here - grooming and daycare. The grooming I think they did a wonderful job, other than her ears. They prepped me that they might have to shave her ears because they were matted - that was nice heads-up, which I really appreciate. My dog was extremely happy coming out of the grooming experience. The daycare was not my highlighted experience. I felt they are not experienced in dealing with dogs that have separation anxiety. I'm going to give them another shot, but wouldn't recommend if your pup has anxiety. Her eyes were bloodshot red when I came to pick her up, and her anxiety was through the roof with excessive whining, something I haven't seen in her for a long time. Also, her anxiety got worse even two days after her session so it seems like my dog had a traumatizing experience, which was very stressful for me as a pet owner. She also was INCREDIBLY thirsty when she came home and that was a huge concern to me - I even supplied them with her own water bowl, which they did not use. They also didn't supply her with the bed and toys I gave, which I was very disappointed with. The toys help keep her occupied from her anxiety. Also, she is in love with that bed and it has my scent on it to help with her anxiety. read more

I have the best job in the world! I have worked at Doggy Haven Resort for four years now. The owners David and Donnell are amazing. They truly care about the wellbeing of the employees and the pups. I not only work at Doggy Haven Resort but my dogs board there several times a year. They also go to day care twice a week. The employees love taking care and interacting with all the dogs. I really appreciate the consistently good care provided by these folks. They really get to know each dog well, and to provide information about how the dogs do while staying with them (we've only used daycare thus far). My two Border Collies are very different from each other, but their attention to each one has been excellent. Too expensive for what you get. No good overnight surveillance. Dogs are constantly told to "shut up" because they are not allowed to bark. Not a positive experience. Seems like the person to dog ratio is a little skewed as well... too many dogs and not enough people. Not a good place for the winter as during the day they don't have an indoor play facility for big dogs... they have to go outside in the snow and rain for 12 hours and "play"... really they are freezing their butts off!!! read more

Update taken from my husband's post. "We have been taking one of our dogs for grooming a few years now and the groomer is awesome (Pat). We decided since we loved Pat, to take our Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd cross to their Doggy Daycare. What a mistake. Let me explain: first the "greeting team" aka girl at front desk, needs to be demoted to Pooper Scooper. Zero customer service skills. Second, they require a probationary day where we drop our dog off for the day to see how he does. We did and end of day to pick him up, I specifically asked if there were any issues, DH's reply was "nope he was great, just a few issues with dominance but we took care of it". Forward to the following Tuesday, my wife drops him off at 7 am and around 11 am gets a call from DH, they said he was "too confident" and was "marking the other dogs" and "doesn't fit in here" Hmmm well we raise our dogs to be confident but respectful and obedient. And I have NEVER seen him mark another dog, mind you we have taken him to MANY off leash parks. He is a very big and tall dog and could have very easily and accidentally "marked" another dog if they were too close. Our feeling is DH does not want to entertain and exercise our dogs mind and body but rather let him loose in a pen for a free-for-all. Warning to all of you, look into the potential dog care facility, they are not created equal and some are only interested in housing your dog for a fee. Oh and FYI we took him to Pet Smart the next day and Pet Smart Doggy Day Camp associate said "he is such an awesome dog, he loved being petted and playing with his new friend Rosie" and "he also liked chewing on toys and playing fetch". with the above, you make the call. UPDATE 02/09/13 We took our dog to two different pet day cares today, Bone-A-Fide to see if we (my wife and I and our dog) liked it. We also went to Pet Smart which we had a half-day reservation with. Just to keep this short and sweet and to show once again how obtuse Doggy Haven is, when we arrived at Bone-A-Fide, they took our dog into the pack to see how he would do, 15 minutes later someone came on the walkie talkie to ask if we would be willing to trade our dog for theirs because "this dog is awesome!" then a few minutes later another person came on and asked "if they pass on the first offer, I want second". These comments reassured us, once again, that Doggy Haven does not know what they are doing and should not be in the business of boarding dogs. Once finished with our appraisal of Bone-A-Fide we dropped our dog off at Pet Smart Woodinville, he stayed there from 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM. When we arrived to pick him up we were given a report card which stated (paraphrase) "(he) loved to be around other dogs, well behaved and loved playing with the toys, (we) look forward to (his) next visit, he was just a pleasure to have in camp!". If you're looking for a facility that's worthy of caring for your most precious 4 legged friend please take a moment to read about my experience with Doggy Haven resort in Bothell. First of all there's nothing that's too good for my boy and that's why have been taking my beautiful Collie to Doggy Haven Resort for the past 6 years. We love it at Doggy Haven and all the folks who work there. They're like our extended family but only better because they're always happy to care for my dog. Have you ever had an emergency or had something come up at the last minute and the first thing that pops in your head is "what about the dog" well, I call my friends at Doggy Haven; problem solved, now wouldn't that be a relief! Like I said I've been taking my Collie to Doggy Haven for the past 6 years; He's enrolled in daycare once a week and I can't even remember how many times we've boarded him there. We've never ever had any problems and he always comes home happy and healthy; maybe a little tired but that's one of the little bonuses. The entire staff is fabulous and I trust each and every one of them to care for my dear sweet boy. There's not been any turnover in the staff the entire time I've been going there, only some wonderful additions. Not only do they have boarding and daycare but they also have a fabulous grooming salon plus they also offer a wide range of training classes. There's a very strict policy to ensure that all the dogs are current with vaccines, fecal screening and flea protection. Every dog must complete a Veterinary exam and provide an authorization form before they can be enrolled for boarding, daycare or training. I just want to say that my relationship with this wonderful facility has been a blessing. I always know that when I drop off my boy for the day I don't have to worry and I know that he'll have a fun filled day doing what he loves best; being the center of attention and playing with his 4 legged pals. We used Doggy Haven for a 10 day stay and our dog had a lovely time. Unlike other kennels, the dogs play most of the day, which was great for our active dog. I can't review the whole place. When we adopted our new doggie, Lola, the fee from Homward Pets included 4 weeks training here. So, this review is totally for the training. The trainers were excellent. As I knew, and they kept pointing out, this is more about training people than the dog. I've told her she can never quit because she's the only one who can touch him without him panicking. All staff are great. Fantastic staff and professional results. Clean facilities, they remember me and our dogs. One time the groomer made sure she knew that she has nicked a small skin growth on one of our dogs back. I would not have noticed if she had not pointed it out. It is easy to see how that could accidentally happen and I really appreciated the disclosure. My dog came home with a kennel cough and has been coughing mucus since morning. I will have to take him to the vet and get him treated. The deluxe room shown on their website is misleading and not what they have in facility, it is way smaller, small uncomfortable bed and the rooms are very damp and cold. I am sure all dogs are freezing their butts off at night. Now I wish I had given him a blanket. All in all I will not board my dog here again. read more

I've been taking my dog here for years, however this recent visit will be my last. I picked my dog up a day early due to cutting my vacation short. Thankfully I carry a bowl and water with me at all times, Rowdy was extremely thirsty. I was barely out of the parking lot when I noticed a horrendous odor coming from my dog. I immediately pulled over to check him out. My beloved dog was covered in his own feces. When I confronted doggy haven regarding this, their response was "oh we noticed your dog was a little stinky and we were going to bathe him but you showed up early". WOW... A little stinky is far from the truth. His belly was stained yellow from laying in his own urine. His skin was rashy and irritated. After bathing him I noticed chunks in his ears. As I picked them out, to my surprise it was hardened feces. Days later my truck still smelled like shit and piss. Last but not least he came home with kennel cough and down 6lbs. Doggy Haven should be shut down in my opinion. read more

After an unfortunate incident with a boarder in Snohomish I did a lot of research to find another doggy daycare/boarding facility that I could trust with my fur baby. With the help of King 5's Best of Western Washington I found this gem. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it to know that my curious doodle is safe from eating random broken toys in the yard, that he gets to play with other dogs for 9 hrs a day, and that there appears to be enough staff to look over and care for all the dogs. It is always so clean on the grounds and in the lobby and the staff is very professional and prompt. We've boarded our dog here several times and try to drop him off at daycare once a week or every two weeks. Their website is easily navigable with pricing and a lot of info. They also offer fair pricing for grooming services and did a good job with our labradoodle. One thing I wish they would do - be more consistent and detailed on the boarding "report card" and have a report for daycare, too. Or pictures.. Or a live stream would be awesome! Based on my experiences, I highly recommend Doggy Haven for daycare, boarding and grooming. I often see a good mix of small and large dogs visitors. Toby always comes home happy, exhausted, and just as healthy as when we dropped him off. read more

I love this place. I've boarded my dog here several times, and he always comes back happier than when I dropped him off. He's a shy, sensitive dog, too, so I'm especially pleased that the people at Doggy Haven are able to handle him well. This last boarding experience was outstanding. My dog doesn't get groomed much (because of the shyness), but when I picked him up, he was all bathed, brushed, and clipped! I'm all sorts of impressed. I decided to check this place out because I used to live really close to it I'm hoping to get a neighborhood kinda community feel when I get a service done. I took my havashu puppy to get a groom at 16 weeks old and they did a wonderful job and exactly as I had asked, i only wanted his face his belly his booty and his paws done, so I decided to book another appointment. I was called a week later to be told the the gromer that I had booked with is leaving because her husband makes too much money as the lady on the phone giggled I thought it was very unprofessional. I booked with another groomer thinking maybe its just the lady on the phone. I bring my pup back in for his next haircut, and I show a picture of how I like him to look and try to tell the groomer how much I care for his coat, she interrupted me to tell me it looks like a 9pic and I clarified I did NOT want him shaved long and scruffy is the look, giving the same instructions as before face, booty, belly, and paws. When I picked up my dog i was in shock he had been totally shaved down, i e-mailed the facility about my concerns and recieved a courtesy email from the manager in reply. I told them how I felt and sent my pictures their way to put in my file so this wouldn't happen again and never received a reply, so 5 days later I reach out to the mager again to re express all my concerns and recieved an email saying she was out of office but they would put the pictures in my file. I dont feel as I ever got anything out of my efforts. I did not like that I had to email 3 times just to get some pictures in my file after a big mistake was made. I dont think I could have been more clear during consultation then to be super specific and to show picures. They were kind to my dog and kind to me but overall unprofessional and kind of rushed is really not what I'm looking for. read more

Our pup LOVES Doggy Haven. He actually runs to the door and starts whining to go when we ask him if he wants to go to Doggy Haven. We've used them for training, daycare and boarding. We love that the dogs are able to play for the whole day. When we were looking for a boarding facility, it was sad to think of our social, energetic pup sitting in a kennel and only being taken out to go to the bathroom a couple of times a day. When he goes to Doggy Haven, he is nice and tired when he comes home either from daycare or from boarding. We liked the class we took there as well - smaller class size, more 1:1 attention from the trainer and more useful skills learned. read more

We've been taking our 6 yr old female Bluetick Coonhound to Doggy Haven ever since she was a puppy. She absolutely loves it! From the minute we drive into the parking lot she gets excited and wants to get out so she can go play. Once inside she makes a be-line for the door leading out to the play area. The staff has always been friendly and has treated our dog very well. We have never had any problems or complaints. We have also had our dog groomed there and they do an excellent job. This review is for Kim Lepic, a trainer at Doggie Haven. We came to Kim with our American Eskimo rescue dog, Oliver, who needed more socialization. We did individual training with her. Oliver was reactive while on a leash, especially when he saw other dogs. Kim worked with us (I say "us" because my husband and I learned as much as Oliver did) to recognize the signs leading up to a reaction and diffuse them before Oliver became too excited. Kim gave us a series of exercises to work through and followed up each training session with a written evaluation and notes on what we covered in class. This helped make sure my husband and I were approaching Oliver's training the same way. Oliver is much less reactive now and easier to manage on our walks. I highly recommend Kim as a trainer. Oliver misses his classes with Kim, I am certain. (We may have to come back for the group class.) read more

I had a horrible experience with Doggy Haven and I will never bring my pup there again. I brought my 2 year old boxer for a weekend. I was told he would be in a 'suite' with heated floors and a raised bed and would have a bath before I picked him up. when i can to pick him up I heard someone yelling at the dogs while I waited in the lobby. When he came out it was clear that not only had he had a bath, but his entire underside was shaved! I would have accepted this as a miscommunication if it weren't for the fact that the attendant snarled at me when I asked about it. Told me he wasn't shaved and rolled her eyes at me when I persisted. Seriously, she was staring me down and glaring at me. She brought the groomer out who said that my dog probably 'molted' due to the heat as 'dogs do that'. At further inspection we saw some scratched on him that could have been from play but his elbows were very red and irritated. Much like you see after a dog has slept on concrete for a couple days. I'm telling you folks, there is NO WAY that this dog was not shaved. Not a chance. read more

I absolutely adore the Doggy Haven Resort! When we lived in Mill Creek, our dog went to daycare at Doggy Haven three days a week. After moving to Seattle, we drove him to Doggy Haven for boarding. It is an absolutely beautiful, clean and well maintained facility with a big outdoor field for the doggies to play in and a comfortable indoor area with a couch and dog movies to watch. Seriously, it doesn't get much better! The staff always remember my dog and they give him lots and lots of love. My dog is nervous and timid and doesn't typically bond with other people, but he gets crazy excited in the car when he knows we are going to the resort and has no problem leaving my side to spend his time here! I have never had a better experience with daycare or boarding. I highly recommend them. read more

I am a long time client of Doggy Haven. I have been taking my dog to Doggy Haven for 9 years. He started there when he was a puppy. Like others have said, he is beside himself happy when we are in the car driving to DH on his daycare days. This is the second dog I have trusted to Doggy Haven. My yellow lab (who passed away) started boarding and daycare at DH when they first opened. My dog goes to doggy daycare 2 times a week and gets a bath when he gets too stinky! I probably board him once or twice a year up to two week at a time. He is well treated, loves the staff who show him affection as well. They even have a cute nckname for him. I get a report card when I pick him up from boarding so I know if he has eaten or not, or has had issues and even which dog he played with each day he was boarded! I have never heard anyone yelling at the dogs. I like the probationary day idea for new dogs so other dogs in care are not at risk. Just like people, some dogs get along and some dogs don't. I have an experience of sharing a concern and the owner was on top of this right off the bat and started a new practice because of my concern. Also of note is that DH is community minded - at times providing free boarding to a local dog rescue organization and collects food for another. To say that DH doesn't know what they are doing and shouldn't be in this business is completely and totally off base. Doggy Haven is a great facility and tries very hard to please their clients and take care of their 4 legged charges. Right now my big fuzzy is snoozing big time after a fun day at daycare. I wouldn't take him anywhere else and, if I ever get another dog when this pup goes to that big kennel in the sky, I will trust DH with that furry child as well. Our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Ramona attends Doggy Havens day care anywhere from 1 to three times per week. There are somewhere around 15 dogs (its seemingly a dynamic number with individuals dropping in or out based on their masters needs) in her pack. We, the supposed masters of the rather largish hound (and in no small part due to our possession of opposeable thumbs) surveyed several other boarding / kennel facilities and we were (and continue to be) frankly, impressed. The (mostly women) staff are kind and attentive. Pat the groomer looks after Ramona's toe nails and anal gland and does so with aplomb! This is no small feat as I, a former 250 lb paratrooper - am ashamed to say that I have a difficult time with these tasks as she seems to sense when I am going to make-my-move for the "toe nail clipper drawer" (and no, I dont do her anal gland). I think a rather fine complement is that when we have on occasion bumped into individual staff members off-sight that Ramona seemingly likes them as she wags her tail and nuzzles a hand or leg. Rhodie owners will recognize this as high praise indeed, as the breed being exquistely regal (read cautious and skeptical), are also quite aloof. Moreover, Rhodie's are very good at displaying thier disdain - so, my "gut" says the environement there is "good" otherwise she would not tolerate going. To summarize - if you are a person who worries about where they are leaving a valued family member (dare I say - almost "like our child"?) then I think that you will probably like your dogs temporary digs. Ramona has been going there for about 18 months now (mainly for socialization with other dogs) and we have had nothing but good experiences. I came to Doggy Haven for their Feist Fido training class. My dog, Barney, is incredibly leash reactive and I've already tried working with two previous trainers without seeing any results. I thought I knew Barney as well as I could, but after working with Kim and Nikki I feel like I took a master class on dog behavior. Not only did the 6-week class completely transform the way I work with Barney, but I feel like I have the tools I need to continue his training and help Barney to keep learning and growing on my own. Both trainers genuinely love the dogs they work with and they're great at making the training accessible and easy to translate to real-life applications. I was also highly impressed by the fact that they often attend continuing education courses and conferences to stay current on the latest research in dog training. We take our dog Bandit and always request for Debbie for his regular grooming. She is wonderful with him. Every time we take him there every 6 weeks or so, he is always happy and excited to see her. She is great, we highly recommend her. Also, the staff there are very helpful and very nice! read more

Our dogs stayed there and got a severe case of kennel cough. We were still charged the full boarding fee with no apologies.
