I'm so sorry to have to share my experience with my community. Rhonna was incredibly rude and borderline racist to myself and my dog. It sounds like a lot of people love this place. But if you're an Asian woman with a fluffy dog I recommend either bringing a body guard or finding something else to do. People are probably too scared to write a negative review because this owner is frightening. I will never come anywhere close to here again. After I parked my car at the pool, I opened my door. Before taking my seatbelt off, 2 dogs under Rhonna's care came running at me full speed off leash. Not a big deal, I just shut the car door because she seemed to be mildly freaking out about this. She frantically yelled at them to come back & they did. I opened the window & asked if they were friendly. She replied "yes, but they still shouldn't do that." I said "no worries fine by me". The dogs running over didn't phase me, they were off leash & excited. Context: this is in the rural part of Hollister with gravel back roads. There was absolutely no signage about where dogs should or should not pee & you are outside at a public location for dogs. To reiterate: gravel road in a gravel parking lot in a yard in the rural country. There were no other clients in sight. Just 1 staff member w/ 2 other black dogs for a total of 4 black dogs. After Rhonna got her dogs under control, my dog was understdably excited because 2 dogs off leash having the time of their life just came running at us. My dog & I stepped out of the car, he pees on a steel pole in the parking lot. Rhonna yelled at me at the TOP of her lungs DO NOT LET YOUR DOG PEE ON THAT!!!!! I was like woah, okay, I don't know why you have to YELL AT ME, I didn't raise my voice & was super cool & chill about your dogs doing their thing so that clearly felt super aggressive. I said "I'm so sorry - is there a hose? Can I clean it?" She ignored me & walked to an outdoor sink fuming like a child and NOT a business owner. I followed her to help but she was still visibly super grumpy which seemed super dramatic for the context & situation. I mean maybe she was just having a horrible morning, but I just drove OVER an hour for an 85$ half hour lesson so it made me extremely uncomfortable to get yelled at first thing because of a dog's natural behavior when I was super chill about your dog. I have never seen anyone yell at a dog for peeing OUTSIDE. On a POLE. In a parking lot! I have seen dogs pee in pet stores & not get yelled at like this. Like dude we are outside. What happened did not warrant her behavior. I said "no really, I'm happy to clean it." She exclaimed "no! there is a pee area over there please go pee there only!l To reiterate to anyone reading this post, there were NO SIGNS DESIGNATING WHERE TO PEE & NOT PEE. There are only signs saying "clean up after your dog." She could have walked to my car & told me the rules or told me politely at LEAST. not sure if what happened next was crazier than what already transpired... Rhonna comes over & the first thing she says was the most discriminatory & rude first question I have ever heard. "WHAT makes you think your dog will even swim?" As if her yelling at me for my dog peeing outside in a parking lot wasn't enough. I am half Asian & my dog is a Eurasier. Like, come on, there are at least 55 other nicer ways to initiate a conversation about whether this is the right fit for my pet. I said, "excuse me?" she said, "well THAT breed of dog doesn't like to swim." I said, "oh! you know this breed of dog?" She clearly had no idea what breed of dog I had (Eurasier) which I know b/c she evaded the question and deflected and then told me point blank halfway through the lesson that she didn't know what kind of dog he was. She said "well what I mean is fluffy dogs like yours don't ever swim well". I said I was there because I wanted to be follow the rules & book a 1 on 1 class (not cheap by the way, 85$ for half hour) so that he can come when his friends privately book the pool. I told her I'm happy to leave if she didn't want us there & she said no no let's do this. She ended up being nice from this point forward but this was the rudest welcome I have ever experienced & it ruined the entire experience. My dog ended up jumping off of the ramp several times & swimming like a pro. She even admitted she was wrong about him more than once. But wow! I have never experienced anything like this in a setting where I am paying top dollar for services and traveling at length. Upon booking there needs to be a breed question if this is really SUCH an issue for her. Just be aware that the owner has a scary temper & don't let your dog pee in the parking lot. I have never written a negative review like this. I only rate with 4 and 5 stars. But sharing aggressive behavior like Rhonna's is the right thing to do so we can all make the best choices for our families. It's time for behavior like this to stop. read more

Love this place! It offers barn hunt, herding, and dock diving. Mark (who does the herding) is great with my Beauceron puppy. She had never seen sheep before and he was super patient with her. Rhonna & Kaylee are really helpful with dock diving and barn hunt. I thought my pup would never go off the dock, but with patience and a firm hand from Rhonna it is now my puppy's favorite thing to do. She went from falling off the dock to flying. I have only tried barn hunt with my Labrador and he enjoyed it very much! Super fun place to be, and they consistently put on barn hunt and dock diving competitions. Can't wait to be back! read more

This place is amazing. My golden retriever had absolute fun. He was initially scared of jumping. The lady there gave little judge and helped him to jump the first two times. From them on my dog didn't want to stop jumping. This was our first time. We will definitely visit more often. read more

What a great adventure for Max and Hanna. This was very high on Max's bucket list. Check! Next stop sheep herding in San Gregorio. Rhonna was gentle and great at introducing them to the pool. Toss a toy in and the dogs did the rest! We literally jumped for an hour straight. Worth the trip, great facilities for dogs - water was clean, huge open play area to run around in after the jumps. I've brought my lab here twice, along with my friend's lab and the two had a blast each time. The owner (whose name I don't know, sorry!) has set up a large above ground pool with a long ramp for diving and a ramp for dogs to climb out. The first time, she'll walk you through getting the dogs to jump in the pool but the 2d time she just let us have the pool to ourselves while the dogs leapt in. She provides some toys and is very laid back, especially given how spazzy my dog can get. It's $45 for 2 dogs for a one hour rental, which is a great value. If you have a water loving dog, I would highly rec'd taking them here to burn off energy and enjoy themselves. There's also a closed off area where dogs can run around. Be aware that this is a residential home in Hollister, which means you'll be driving on some very narrow, farm roads. Don't get confused (like I did) if your GPS leads you onto a tiny road and then tells you to turn right on an even tinier road. Also, she only takes cash and be prepared to get wet and dirty. read more

We've only gone down here once so far but my dog absolutely loved the barn hunt! They took the time to work with me explaining how barn hunts work & helping teach my dog. They're not close to the freeway or the main road so be prepared to do some driving but it's worth it if your dog has such a great time! We'll be back for sure! read more

The experience is fair if you want a novelty afternoon. We went with a group and barely got three turns of 5 jumps each. For $30 a dog. The lady assisting was sweet and knowledgeable, but another person there was telling people to quiet their excited pets or put them in the cars. Why, because the neighbor complains about the noise. Mine wasn't noisy, but worrying about their neighbors is their issue, not mine.., I paid for my dog to be here. To swim, bark and have a good time. Not to be corrected for being excited the whole time. At almost a hundred dollars for three dogs, their attitude was as if they thought they were doing us a favor. Fun, but take the dogs to a lake instead. It's free, you can play as long as you like and its unpretentious. read more

I first came here a few years ago and fell in love with the sport. With Rhonna's guidance and patience my dog got very good. In fact he was invited to the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge two years ago. The world record holder In Dock jumping started in this pool too. It doesn't matter if you don't have a big jumping dog though. She encourages you to have fun with your dog. There is an air of joy around the place as you watch dogs of all sizes going crazy to get their turn in the pool. Events there are full of laughter and fun. If your dog loves swimming or if you want them to learn, this is the place to go. read more
