Regardless of how busy the clinic may be, Dr. Berg is so thorough going over everything from diet and explaining things in laymen's terms so l can understand what's going on without being condescending. I truly appreciate him focusing on the significance of nutrition without trying to sell you on anything. He's reasonable about medication, only recommending what your pet actually needs. Stephanie has always been exceptional with Luna. While she is the sweetest cat at home, she doesnt do well in a vet setting. Stephanie understands this and is so patient with her. she never forces anything. I've come back for another visit when Luna refused blood work because I didn't want to over sedate her. She taught me how to bundle Luna and to keep her calm during her injections. Her patience and sweet nature are everything. The front desk was so kind communicating with me during my wait, offering me water, etc. Dr. Berg's office understands our pets are family, and they treat us as such. I highly recommend the Santa Monica Veterinary Group to anyone looking for an honest, empathetic Vet. I'm literally getting ready for a Sunday evening visit for Luna to get another injection. Stephanie was kind enough to respond to my text first thing this morning. The customer service is 10/10

Most recently we lost our 15 year old sweet girl, Daisy. Dr. Harrison Saling was amazing at explaining what was going on with our pup. They said it wasn't their policy anymore that I would have to mail in the prescription which I did the Mail in Los Angeles is ridiculous and it is a holiday weekend so they never got my prescription and I needed to go back and pay the extra money for the pills when I went back not only did they charge me for the pills. They said that there was a dispensary fee that added about $.50 a pill when I told him it was a disgrace, they basically threw me out of the office one phone call one simple, act of courtesy and customer service would've saved me money and aggravation, but that's the whole point the money. make it as difficult as possible so we will buy the drugs from them that's their motto. they also have another thing going if you write or say something they don't like they ban you from coming back. if your motto is to rip off the human customer, what does that actually say about the creatures in their care?

I was in total shock and financial chaos. Everyone at GDD was amazing! Starting with the extremely knowledgeable staff to the nurses and to the head about surgeon who all kindly consulted with & listened to me about me & my fur baby's mouth and health. I've had a fur baby before. I've been to other Veterinary Offices and they just don't compare. Green Dog Dental is over the top amazing. The time they spent with me--the human--was extraordinary. Imo they're a good human care clinic as well; acknowledging & helping with my humanity, my concerns, fears & financial challenges. They also took excellent care of my fur baby. I am gob-smacked and very pleased and happy to recommend them to anybody who has a fur baby that needs to visit a Vet. They're so personable to the pup's parent I just can't praise them enough. To rate them an11 out of 10 doesn't say enough.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was concerning enough that I feel obligated to share it. We brought our dog in for what was supposed to be a dental cleaning and were told, in an alarmist and frankly shaming way, that "nearly all" of his teeth required urgent extraction. I was shocked because Green Dog Dental did his last cleaning and everything was "fine and healthy" then. Based on that urgency, we moved forward with a procedure that ultimately cost over $5,000. During the procedure, we received a call that it would need to be stopped midway because the doctor said, and I quote "I need a break" -- meaning a second round of anesthesia, recovery, soft food and a cone for 3 weeks, and stress for our dog. This was never something we would have agreed to upfront. Afterward, we sought a second opinion from another veterinarian, who reviewed the X-rays and advised that only ~4-5 teeth required extraction -- a stark contrast to what we were originally told. The was devastating that we'd just unnecessarily removed half our dogs teeth. Equally concerning was the experience itself: The procedure was incomplete despite the high cost. The original purpose of the visit (a cleaning) was not clearly reflected in the outcome. Communication during and after the procedure was inconsistent and, at times, dismissive. We were made to feel as though we had neglected our dog, which was both upsetting and unwarranted. Since then, I have made multiple reasonable attempts to resolve this directly, including requesting a partial refund. Instead, I've received conflicting explanations, selective information (including only a partial transcripts of recorded calls - by the way they do not disclose that they are recording calls!), and ultimately no meaningful resolution -- just an offer to spend more money there. They have now ghosted me and gone irresponsive. At a minimum, I expected transparency, accountability, and a willingness to address a clearly unsatisfactory experience. That has not happened. We are devastated by the experience and the fact that our dog is missing nearly half his teeth and we are out $5000. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before proceeding with major dental work here.

Worth noting: Expect big urgent care invoices and be prepared to ask questions, line by line, to make sure you understand the costs and necessary treatment. I received a BIG OLE $$$ bill in the thousands and had to review each item, and upon doing that with the (very patient) Vet, they decreased the amount over 50% for the unnecessary treatments. I think every pet parent can agree that the most important thing for our fluffy little ones is proper care and love from the professionals treating them. This is why I'm rating this place a 5 star. They were all terrific people and took wonderful care of my dog (and me!) during a high stress day. P.S. They also offer coffee and snacks and that was a lifesaver after being there for 3.5 hours.
