APA - Brentwood - stray Boston terrier

I'm grateful they were able to take in the stray Boston Terrier we found. She had no microchip, and…read moreI'm relieved she's safe now. That said, our interaction with Lance was surprisingly rude and dismissive. When we told him we'd been calling her "Mama," he rolled his eyes and said, "We have so many Mamas," like it was an inconvenience. When my friend offered to foster, he brushed her off, saying the dog would "probably get adopted quickly anyway" and that she could "maybe go on the website." He also made the whole intake process uncomfortable. I was sitting with the dog in my lap when he sat at a desk far away, asked for my ID (which my friend had to bring to him), and then slapped it back on the counter without a word. The entire time he was typing things in, he didn't explain what he was doing, what the next steps were, or even why he needed my info. I'm thankful they took the dog in, but the lack of kindness or communication really soured the experience. It shouldn't feel like a burden to bring in an animal who needs help.

I can not say enough good things about the caring staff and the APA Adoption Center itself. I appreciate that they go the extra mile. A loving forever home is the goal with every adoption! My cat Picassa and I are the perfect match. She is my soul kitty, we are forever family!!!

I thought they only did…read moregrooming but it turns out they have a whole store full of treats, food, and etc. I took my time looking around as each aisle was packed with goodies. I was picking up a toy for my friend's dog and managed to stoke up a conversation with the person working the register. She was incredibly friendly and helpful in giving me information regarding grooming and other services they offered. While I couldn't commit to a time just yet, I was able to register so that I could do so in the future and they even gave me a free gift! I can't wait to bring my puppy, Rocco, because I think he'd have a ball!

I recently started getting my his nails cut here and now I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Becca and Morris are both professional and perfectionists! My chocolate lab is ridiculously high energy and can be a bit exhausting but the team members and groomers always love on him. They remember his name and always give him treats and hugs. The fact that my dog can't wait to get a bath and nail trim says everything I need to know about their services. One team member even commented that they saw Hobbes on the schedule and couldn't wait to see his happy dance. Hobbes is a crazy goof but they make us feel loved and welcome every single visit. Definitely recommend the mutter butter cookies!

Only thing I am suspicious of is they said my babies were well behaved and at home they are menaces lol. Definitly our new place to go for a curly furrrrrrr trim.

Couldn't be more disappointed. I have given this place a few tries to see a change but I'm honestly…read moreshocked by the blatant lack of safety and professionalism at this shop, it is clearly a "quantity over quality" operation that prioritizes cramming the schedule over the well-being of the pets. Between just two groomers, they are taking on a massive volume of dogs, which explains why the haircuts consistently look choppy, rushed, and uneven as if they may not even be certified at ALL. The most terrifying part is their "restraint" system, instead of professional grooming loops, they're just tying regular leashes around the dogs necks, creating a massive strangulation risk if a dog were to slip or jump. Think about your dog being nervous for a haircut and jumping off a table 4 FEET IN THE AIR for poor judgement of the employees or even better all the sharp tools left on the table near your pet to step on! I've seen multiple dogs shoved in a tub at once and animals left completely unsecured on high tables, or on the floor with no restraint at all not to mention the filthy workspace where new clients are groomed on top of massive piles of hair from previous dogs. Whose to say if the hair left was dirty or clean or what could possibly be transferred to your pet from it. To make matters worse, the staff and owner let their own dogs roam free to approach client pets regardless of temperament or health status. It's a chaotic, unsanitary environment where the dogs often don't even look fully clean or blow-dried before they start clipping, and I wouldn't trust this place with any animal's safety but if you're looking for a CHEAP CHOP SHOP to get you in the same day and strip your dog totally down, they're your guys! Although you'd probably do a better job yourself at home. Save yourself AND your pet the risk and go somewhere that your time and money make a difference, a professional groomer will keep your pet safe and fabulous all while still being affordable!
