Severe neglect and boarder line abuse. The owner seems like a great lady, very knowledge, but the…read moreidiots she employs completely tortured my dog. First, even though we completed extensive paperwork giving them instructions on how much to feed our dogs, these girls somehow thought it was acceptable to feed my 15lb shih tzu an entire cup of food TWICE a day. Of course, they ran out of food very fast seeing as he actually eats 1/4 cup twice a day. When he ran out of food, they began giving him the food they had on hand which resulted in explosive bloody diarrhea. Their solution? To lock him in his kennel for an entire day while waiting for us to come get him. By the time we got there him and all of his belongings were completely covered in bloody diarrhea. Their excuse was "he didn't feel good so we wanted him to be somewhere quiet". On top of this neglect, they also failed to properly give him his glaucoma eye drops, resulting in his eye pressure raising to THREE TIMES the safe range. Our other dog who was also being boarded there returned home covered head to toe in huge bug bites, which they tried to excuse as "an allergic reaction to shampoo". The severe lack of even basic dog care knowledge is RIDICULOUS. Do not leave your dogs with these people!

Outstanding Trainer - Transformed Our Service Dog's Training…read more We cannot recommend Glenn at Firewind Training Kennels highly enough! We came to Glenn looking to take our dog Mili's training to the next level for service animal work, building on the foundation we had already established. Glenn exceeded every expectation. Mili completed multiple Board and Train visits with Glenn, and the results were truly amazing. What impressed us most was how much Mili loved working with Glenn. She was always excited to go and never showed any signs of fear or anxiety. That speaks volumes about Glenn's approach and the positive environment he creates. Glenn's training philosophy was incredibly comprehensive. He didn't just focus on Mili, he invested significant time teaching my wife and me how to better understand Mili's body language and communicate with her effectively. This education was invaluable and has made us better handlers, which has been key to maintaining and building on the progress Mili made during her time with Glenn. Glenn is exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Whether you're in the Missoula area or anywhere around the country, if you're looking for a trainer who will truly partner with you and your dog to achieve your goals, Glenn at Firewind Training Kennels is the one to call. We're so grateful for everything he's done for Mili and our family!

During the day they go for walks/hikes off leash. At night she allows them to sleep in her home, where ever they please. My pups get so excited as soon as I turn onto PP's lane. Even though they usually heel, soon as I open my car doors they run to Candance with joy. (I admit, they've hurt my feelings, because they didn't seem to care if I say good-bye to them... they're ready to have some fun!) I would never want to trust anyone else with my dogs. Candance has my complete confidence, is honest and has a true love for dogs. Thankfully, she does not board too many dogs at one time. But because of that, I hesitated to write a review because I selfishly wanted to keep PP's as my golden secret. Thanks for what you do!!

There was no instruction online to make out such an application before visiting. What a ridiculous management approach, that someone willing to adopt a pet is sent away. I only stood there as long as I did because it's not the animals' fault this shelter is run by idiots. Yes, covid has impacted everyone and shelters are crowded, with staffing a challenge. But, I have long patronized this shelter and this policy is new, plus I have never been to animal control when there are more than 2 people manning the desk. These two just did not want to be bothered. Wow.
