My go-to pet store! I love Dog Krazy because of the specialized attention they give to nutrition. I had the hardest time finding the right food for my dog and they not only provided guidance but also gave me the option to bring anything back if my dog didn't like it. I found something she loves and only buy from there now. I've also used their do-it-yourself dog wash system and it takes practice to get it right, but is a good option if you can't wash your dog at home or go to a groomer. Soap and towels are provided. Just a tip: always use the aprons and don't wear anything long sleeved. The rewards system is great also. Somehow I always end up with $5-$10 off my purchases. Lastly! I decided to do delivery during the quarantine and ordered the day they started giving out their sample boxes. Both my dogs LOVED it. Had to chase them around the house while they ran away with items from the box. read more

Great service and selection !!! So many treats, bones, toys and accessories for pets!

I don't own a dog, but I do own a couple cats. While "Dog" is in their business name, they do also carry some cat-specific items like food and toys. Everything appeared to be reasonably priced. The store is small but has the essentials. read more

Short Pump Location: treats the Muffin (aka Yonce aka Muffin face and Bella approved. It was Bella's birthday so we had to celebrate with treats (they didn't have the cakes and the cookies were a little to crispy for the girls). Needless to say they both enjoyed their treats. Plan to bring your pup fund as it can be pricey but plenty of options for your pup or kitten. read more

Store and employees are nice. This rating is for the self serve dog wash station ONLY. It's $15 for 20 minutes and functions like a car wash station. This is fine if you have a tiny dog but it's impossible to properly wash and thoroughly dry any larger fluffy dogs. I can barely get my Samoyed properly wet in 5 min of spraying. Shampoo takes at least 5, more if I'm scrubbing, and then rinsing him takes 10. Blow drying generally takes me 30 min otherwise he stays damp and gets skin issues. Just not feasible to truly wash a fluffy/double coated dog here. Unleashed was our regular go-to and unfortunately after this wash we're still on the lookout for a new place to go to self-bathe our dog. read more

I tried out the pet wash station here. They have plenty of towels, shampoo and conditioner, as well as a dryer you can use for your pet. The staff is very friendly and ensured the area was clean prior to use using it. I do wish there were grooming tools such as a brush and nail clipper available for use, but they are available for purchase. I also wish there was a lint roller available to get the excess dog hair off of the aprons that are available for you to use while bathing your pet. All in all, I'll be sure to bring my dog back here if she needs a bath prior to her grooming appointment. read more

So many treats and a lot to chose from!! I loved their selection of kibble and they have the cutest toys

I used to visit this store quite often. My dogs love the variety of treats that Dog Krazy offers. I stopped by yesterday for the first time in a while and was unpleasantly surprised by the prices. Most of their individual treats are $15.99 and up. There were only a couple of options under $10. I can no longer justify spending $50+ on a few treats, when $50 used to get me quite a bit. Unfortunately I also didn't see any duck feet, pig snouts (just smaller items in general). I understand that inflation is real. But I wish they could get some other options that are not that expensive. read more

They were so nice over the phone when I called asking about their wait time. When I got their they took us straight to the wash room and made sure we had everything we needed. I came in this morning wanting a certain dog food, they were out but Matthew M. Showed me a similar option and also wrote down for me at which dog Krazy stores had in stocks the food I first came in for. His service is second to none! Great service at cary Street! read more

Gayton/short pump location: I try to give local businesses my business. But after a few bad experiences I can't give them my business any more. Over a year ago being a loyal customer at Shortpump. I would try to order a certain brand of wet food for our dogs. They would put in the order but would never call me or let me know when it would come in. When I would call or stop into the store, they would tell me there was never an order placed. Two times getting our dogs nail trimmed, they cut too short and his nails were bleeding. So we stopped going there. Gayton: we had an appointment for today at 11am for two nail trims for our dogs, they called me yesterday to move our appointment to 3pm. We get there at 2:50 and told they won't take us until 3:15, that's fine but then they had to add an extra 10min, so now the appointment is 3:25...3:30 and tell us we have to wait longer...the groomer goes an takes another client who got there after us and didn't have an appointment! They have the nerve to ask us to wait longer so the other client who walked in can be taken before us?!?! Are you freaking kidding me? We're officially done with Dog Krazy. Their pricing is too high and their customer service is terrible. If you're running behind, the polite thing to do is let your clients know in advance you're running late. What the heck is the point to making an appointment, if you're taking walk-ins before guest appointments. read more

I went in to get a nail trim for my dog. It was the second time ever having them done. Needless to say the dog was a little nervous. The groomer had enough respect for my dog to pull the plug and come out and coach me on how to help build confidence around the process. She really didn't want to traumatize my dog because it would be much harder to get them more comfortable. I appreciated her customer service, kindness and respect for my pup. read more

Dog Krazy is timely, thorough and gentle with my 10 year old lab. We love Oliver and everyone else there. They always do an awesome job.

Wildly expensive. My dogs eat open farm which retails on the Open Farm website for $79. The same exact bag at Dog Krazy sells for $120. When I asked about the major price difference I was told it's due to the economy??? read more

HIGHLY recommend using Dog Krazy for grooming! My dog is very anxious and has never been able to get his nails cut without being on medication/sedated at the vets office. I warned them of this before they took him and they said they would still try. They were able to do it easily and he has never left a grooming session so calm and happy! Will definitely be using Dog Krazy on Cary St from now on! read more

This is the best pet store I've ever been to. The people who work there are ridiculously helpful, but not in an annoying way. They are friendly, informative and really go out of their way to assist. I travel across town to shop here because it's a legitimately enjoyable experience. read more

I have taken my dog/ puppy, a few times to the Short Pump location and was satisfied. Staff was friendly and they seemed awesome. This past Monday, January 18, 2021, was a different story. Besides the fact that they shaved my dog unnecessarily, they hurt his ears. When I called that afternoon to ask about it, they said it was due to matting and he most likely had hematomas on his ears that caused the bleeding. I called twice as I was concerned, and this is all new to me. They were not helpful, and pretty much brushed me off. I took my dog to the vet the next day. He doesn't have hematoma on his ears; however, due to the "plucking" they hurt his ears, he is currently on a steroid for a week. There is more to this story, I won't go into. I really am just disappointed that they didn't take responsibility, haven't checked on him, nothing. read more

I usually groom my dogs at crittertown bathhouse but I didn't realize they were closed on Mondays. So I called dog krazy and asked if they had a self service dog wash and a grooming station I could rent. They told me yes on the phone so I drove over there. Once I arrive a very friendly young lady showed me the set up and helped me get situated to groom my dog. She was even nice enough to find me something for my dog to stand on the make it easier for me. The experience was good and I was thinking I would just continue to come here. Once I was done with my dog I went to the register and told them I needed to pay for the wash and for grooming my dog. This was a different lady I was speaking to at this point. She was low key rude and told me there is absolutely no hair cutting in the bathing area only wash and go. I politely told her that I had called ahead before coming at that the other employees approved it and even helped me get set up. She again informed me under no circumstances do they allow haircuts. I wish they had discussed that amongst each other instead of belittling me at the register. I will not be returning to this location or any other dog krazy location in the future. I will continue to take my dogs to crittertown bathhouse. read more

I am originally from Fredericksburg and have visited the first dog krazy many times. Today I took my lab to go visit the Richmond location. The girls working could not have been nicer or more helpful. They were knowledgeable about the products and my dog loved every second of his time in there. We will definitely be back next time we visit RVA read more

The employees really know their stuff here. They suggested my pup might have a food intolerance before my vet even did. They do their research on every product that is in there so I know I can trust it. I ended up taking my puppy to get his first haircut somewhere else and it was awful. I went to Dog Krazy the second time around and it was so much better! You talk to the groomer before, they only work on one dog at a time, and when they are done they don't put your dog in a crate they just keep them on a leash around the store. All in all it took two hours (versus 7 at the other place I went). AND cut was exactly what I asked for my Australian labradoodle. All in all love them and will go to them for my dog needs. read more

Words can't describe this incredible place for your dogs!! Excellent treats and great customer service!! Treat your dog like it's their own can't wait to go back read more

i've strayed away from taking my little pupper to grooming places as she isn't the best around other humans since she's extremely tentative and nervous, but the workers at dog krazy did amazing at making sure she was comfortable throughout her entire session! i was greeted with smiling faces and positive attitudes so that really helped ease me as i left my dog with them-i swear i was more nervous than she was. ashley, the wonderful groomer, did a great job with the cut considering i didn't have any sort of reference picture or any idea in mind really as to how i'd like her hair cut, haha. extremely happy with my visit and i'll definitely be returning! (i also bought a golden egg treat after they mentioned to me if it had a golden treat inside that i could get a free goodie bag, and guess what-i got it! my pup is beyond happy with her experience!!!) read more
