Most notable for its single boat launch and fishing, this park includes a boat launch and a narrow hiking trail (which was VERY overgrown in May 2020 - possibly due to COVID-19).
While I enjoyed the wildflowers at the park, I felt uncomfortable on the narrow hiking trail worrying about chiggers and ticks where it was hard to avoid rubbing up against plants here and there.
This park seems to invite a lot of fishers and small boats.
We were very happy to encounter a fisherman who had returned from a day of fishing from his highly outfitted kayak. He was kind enough to chat with us and explain some of the set up and features of the boat. We learned a lot and were thankful to find some common ground--both being from the Midwest. read more
