Let me just say I really enjoyed my first dodgers experience. The chicken was warm and juicy and crispy. The JoJo's were my favorite side piece in the roll was nice and warm as well. For my drink I ordered a orange cream slushy, large of course. I didn't get to enjoy the full experience because I grabbed it as my bite to eat before work. Upon arriving to work there was a lot to do, and the food had to sit while I worked . By the time I did get to it, it was still tasty and I enjoyed it. I'm really going to have to visit on a day off and enjoy it for what it really gives. Oh yeah, the prices are not bad. My only tip would be that there are people that have never experienced Dodgers before and when you see people that don't know how to read the menu or understand, that you take your time and work with us and that is all. read more

Although I've been in Hampton Roads - off and on and off and on - for about eight years, I'd not heard of this place until last night when a friend shut my 3 a.m. complaints up with suggestions of Dodge's. I took a leap of faith, got in my car and blew through all kinds of lights to be there. What I found was an oasis in the middle of a culinary desert of nothingness at 3 a.m. Below is my review. Convenience 5/5 Do I need to even rate this? When someone sells you fried chicken at 3 a.m., you thank them, pay, shut up and eat your chicken. Freshness 3/5 At 3 a.m., the chicken wasn't the freshest. But good news: they do make fresh batches if you ask nicely. I was too hungry to give a damn though. Crispness: 3/5 Your standard here. With both the spicy wings and the fried chicken, the crispness is there and you will feel the crunch, then the sweetness of the chicken inside, but it really isn't anything special. Batter 4/5 I tasted two kinds: original and spicy, and both has its on unique taste. The spicy seemed bland at first, but hits the palate after the first bite and has a rich texture that left a sweet, spicy taste on my mouth. While not the greatest places to eat at, I find myself mainly getting gas from Dodge's and on odd occasions get some of the spicy wings. I find myself feeling bad after eating them and put this place out my mind for 6 months or so. I remember each time why I don't get any food from here each time, but yet I come back to suffer every 6 to 12 months again? I guess I enjoy the pain? Gas prices are always one of the lowest in the area with Wawa right across the street being neck and neck with each other as far as gas goes. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, but like in someone else review you can not really expect much from a gas station/convenience store. read more

I went in the store yesterday about 6:15 6:23. My purchase came to $23.33. I handed the cashier a 20 in cash and asked that the remaining $3.33 be put on my card. I asked him before I swiped my card if he had put the 20 in cash in. It looked like I was swiping my card for the $3.33 but when I checked my account this morning he had charged me the entire amount on my card. I call they say they're too busy to check the cameras and will call me when they get a chance. For a year now every month for about three weeks out of the month they run out of stuff they run out of quite a few flavors of fountain soda run out of large cups. I've driven by here myriad times, intrigued by the gas station that is also a chicken restaurant. There have been a few places in these United States that I've come across that served excellent cuisine out of the back of the gas station. This is not one of those. Aside from arguably having the best cash gas prices in the Hampton Roads area, I find myself hard-pressed to return to sample more of the crispy critters. For this venture, I tried the #3 Combo meal, consisting of 3 pieces of chicken (breast, thigh and drumstick), two fried potatoes, a biscuit and 22oz fountain soda/tea for $7.35 (w/ tax). Dodge's claims they fry the chicken in peanut oil, which is a favorite of mine. So, as I am salivating over the smell of box of warm love as I return to my car, I sneak a bite of the drumstick (easy to manage with one hand while driving) and find the crispy skin hides the lack of meat inside. I decided not to chance dining enroute and waited until I returned to my desk to partake of the remaining pollo. As I walked in the office, the lucky coworkers working through lunch used up my napkins wiping their drool up caused by the smell. One guy even begged until I let him take a piece of the breast ("Did you wash your hands?"); acutally, I'm not sure I let him or just sanctioned it after the fact. He seemed to like it, but then again, he's Chilean and this is all just a novelty to him. I tried to delve into the thigh and found it decent, as was the breast. A little oily for me, but the flavor was good and I was happy to gnaw on some actual meat. I finished it off after going through a pack of napkins to wipe the oil off. I'm glad my meal ended well, but I really don't believe I'll be there again unless I'm getting gas. read more

The chicken is much too expensive for what it is. Mild chicken is just as spicy as spicy chicken. Pies tasted like they were fried in the spicy chicken oil. I stopped in today while on the way to the commissary. The restroom was spotless, smelled great, had a nice TV on the wall, a nice full-length mirror, a full soap dispenser and two huge rolls of toilet paper! I came out and looked at the food bar which was filled with beautifully fried foods and the customers were all friendly with the employees. Very friendly employees. Not a crumb or greasy spot near the prepared foods. They had regular fried chicken pieces, fried wings, fried boneless hot wings, mashed potatoes with gravy and more... I started to order the wings but I was running short on time. There's a sign in the bathroom indicating they clean or check the restrooms every 30 minutes and there's a number to call to register compliments and/or complaints. I had no complaints and I plan to call. The store appeared to be clean inside and out. They have gas, prepared food, the best public restrooms I've ever seen, snacks, drinks and friendly customer service. I'd like to give them 5 stars...gonna taste their chicken first. read more

My husband went to dodges in hampton blv last night to order 50 pcs of chicken, that's over $30 order. We have eat chicken from here at least 3-4 times. So he drove 30 min just to get this chicken. When he bit into the chicken ( already at home) it was horrible, the chicken was bad. Not bas as uncook , the chicken was literally Bad!! Obviously he didn't want to drive back to return it, but today I called and asked for the manager who was not there, I spoke to a clerk ( rude by the way) she asked me with an attitude if I'm calling to get my money back, and I said ofcourse I am. She then told me to bring the chicken back, I said we threw it away, but I can get it out of the garbage and bring it. She was so rude, and laugh that I wanted my money back while repeating my problem to someone else.
