I love BBQ. I love authentic Southern BBQ in an authentic atmosphere. Winner. Drive south of town…read moreand keep your eyes peeled for Southern Smoke, just past Highway 459. The nice young lady at the corner was very patient with me, answering questions. The baked beans were out but miraculously a new batch appeared right as I ordered. Fritos pie: Had to grab this local staple. The pulled pork is so tender and you get so much for your money. I ordered my pie hot. That nice young lady asked if I wanted sauce for my pulled chicken and brought both hot and a special extra hot. Guess what went on everything! (I didn't ask if you can order it made with extra hot or you have to add your own. Still worth it.) Pulled chicken: Again, so tender. So flavorful. Atmosphere: Local joint, no frills, country music playing. Family owned. The only downside is they're not located closer to my home. Verdict: I had written best in the county, but this is taking over as top 3 I've ever had. I dare anyone else in Tennessee to top Southern Smoke.

You will be glad you did. High recommended.
