My husband and I visited here previously on our 10-year anniversary since he does magic. My son was a bit bored and just not interested whatsoever. He was just in a mood for some reason as he usually likes magic tricks. We got him in the shop and Doc really caught his attention showing him some magic tricks. He then really sparked his interest when he had him use a magic wand to help with the trick. My son was amazed he was able to do magic! Doc really made it a magical experience for him just by giving him a few minutes of his time doing a bunch of tricks for him. My son ended up picking out a wand and a magic trick, which he later performed for everyone back at the cabin. While picking his wand, Doc made sure to allow my son to test the wand to make sure he was worthy of it. This really boosted his self-esteem and made him feel so special. He got a wand license and left the shop so excited. The spark of joy on his face said it all. Thanks, Doc! UPDATE DEC 2023 & 2024 Thanks Doc for another great experience! Never disappointed. We stumbled upon this place while walking around and I'm so glad we got to visit. We really did not know what to expect when we walked in, and just wanted to check out a few things with the kids. We met Doc and he took the time to show us a quick demonstration that the children loved. My daughter was so impressed she made sure to purchase a magic trick that she has been playing with non-stop. I love that this is a local business, and I highly encourage anyone to visit. I would definitely visit again on our next trip. read more

First time coming here, I didn't know what to expect when I walked in here but I was just casually checking out the stores and this place was wonderful! The store is full of simple magic trucks that anybody can do and use whether it be a practicing magician or maybe a way to impress your friends. I regret not getting stuff for my friends here because everything here is really affordable! The owner was really nice! He was showing us a small routine as we were shopping around and educating us. My family and I happened upon Doc's store 11 years ago and made it a point to return this past week. Amazing that Doc is still showing his skills off to both young and old alike. Great mini show for the kids to see some magic and he offers ideas on magic that is for children of all ages. All kinds of gadgets and magic tricks available for purchase but no pressure to buy - it's his love of the craft that makes you want to support his shop. Had a wonderful exchange with him as we left and he offered great wisdom to my boys that showed me how much he truly cares about people. The store is hidden a bit on the second level but it is on the main drag. If you are in Gatlinburg, this is a must do and it's free. Make sure you go on the weekend to meet Doc as I believe he's only working 2x a week now. read more

In all the shop is pretty cool to go In and look but just like every other store there be careful what you buy because you can get in online super cheap. I just found a 50 pack of Harry Potter stud for 11 bucks and I spent 30 dollars there. Prices are marked out or covers by stickers. And if it don't have a price they will just pick a random one at the register. read more

Doc's is a great place for any magician or aspiring magician to know. The staff there is wonderful and went out of the way to help me. The prices were fair and I discovered a couple of new patters to my current illusions. I'll be back next time I'm in town! read more

The kids loved watching magic tricks and showed all of the ones you could buy. Decently priced and when you buy something they teach you how to do the magic trick. Great customer service. P.S the guy in the jerky store next to it is good at magic tricks too so if you buy something and take to him he will do the tricks as well. read more

My Granddaughter and I visited Doc's Magic shop last month. We talked with a magician there who helped my granddaughter, who is very interested in magic, with a rope trick. He was really great with her and then We also talked with Doc. I'm a former Magician's Assistant and he and Doc are friends with each other. Best little shop on the strip in Gatlinburg! Tons of fun for the kids and the shop attendant was amazing! He showed magic tricks to groups of people coming and going and also taught the kids how to use the tricks purchased. Very fun! My kids have been practicing their "magic" all evening. read more
