Had some sensitivity issue a couple years back and it wasn't until I came to Smileville that I felt like I could trust the outcome. Surgery wasn't forced on me and now I'm fine with special toothpaste. Their staff is ALWAYS extremely pleasant which I find very valuable in this day and age. The front desk staff got me 'squared away' (Army lingo) really quickly when I reached out and the communication via txt, email, and phone could not have been better. Both Jennifer and Camila really have their act together. My hygiene assistant Ryan really knew his stuff and did a great job. He had a very upbeat attitude and demeanor while putting up with my silly jokes but he's got a bright future ahead. Dr. Rahman was the icing on the cake to say the least. She was as pleasant and as knowledgeable as Ryan and was just as warm. The doctor told me what my next steps would be for a 'deep cleaning' (which Jennifer was able to schedule me for tmrw) but also told me they would take care of fitting me for a 'night guard' for my teeth grinding.....and she was able to answer and explain ANY concerns I might have had.....BRAVO! It turned out they ended up removing cavities and doing fillings, but they filled my molars so poorly that I can't even floss between them because the filling material bridges across from one tooth to the other. My molars hurt, and the area under the filling is turning black--it looks like I have an infection, or as if they left debris underneath before sealing it. My teeth are turning black. I think I have an infection in all the molars they filled. After seeing so many bad reviews for this clinic, I'm going to file a formal complaint/lawsuit against them because I don't think they should be allowed to keep practicing if they don't know what they're doing. It seems like this clinic is more interested in draining insurance money than ensuring your oral health. I do not recommend coming here; there are plenty of other clinics. I came here thinking it was a good place because I saw some positive reviews, but please--go somewhere else. I absolutely regret ever coming to this clinic. They charged over $6,000--which the insurance paid--but honestly, I would have preferred to pay nothing at all. Stay away from this clinic; don't make the mistake of letting them touch your teeth. My granddaughter was very scared (bad prior dental experience). Dr. Mensah explained every step to her in a way she could understand (i.e. sugar bugs are not good for your teeth, we are going to put them to sleep, then washing them away and covering up the tooth so they can't come back). Dr. Mensah's patience, empathy and singing (she made up songs about the sugar bugs) was amazing and got through the whole procedure in a very efficient manner. My granddaughter was Hi-Fiving with her by the time we were done. My granddaughter wants to go back to the dentist again. I am very grateful to Dr. Mensah for completely changing my granddaughter's feelings about going to the dentist, she can't wait to go back now. Thank you! Dr. Lu and Dr. Schneider are both phenomenal. They take the time to explain the treatment, what to expect, and the timeline at every visit, which has made the whole process so much easier for our family. The assistants are always so kind, patient, and helpful, and every person we've interacted with has made us feel welcome. It's hard to find a practice where you genuinely feel like you're in good hands, but that's exactly how we feel here. I truly appreciate the way they made her feel comfortable during the visit. Unfortunately, my experience with the office's communication regarding billing was very disappointing. At today's appointment, while we were waiting, the manager checked my daughter in, and I signed electronically regarding the treatment she was receiving. At no point during the check-in process was I informed that there would be an unexpectedly high copay or out-of-pocket charge. I only found out about the amount when we were checking out, after the treatment had already been completed. Since we have dental insurance, I understand that there may be a copay or an amount not covered by insurance. However, I believe the office should clearly communicate any significant expected cost before treatment, especially when the patient is being checked in and paperwork is being signed. Knowing the cost beforehand would have allowed me to understand my options and make an informed decision. I am very happy with the doctor and hygienist, but the lack of transparency and communication regarding the billing has unfortunately affected my trust in the office. Because of this experience, I do not feel comfortable returning to this office for future appointments. I hope management will take this feedback seriously and improve communication about costs and insurance responsibilities so other families do not experience the same situation.

I generally have a mini panic attack during the injections going as far as to shake involuntarily. However, the doc was patient with me. She along with her assistant kept conversations light and carefree which helps settle me. The music is very calming, as well. I went in for a root canal, but after the doc did what she needed in order to examine the tooth, she decided a root canal was not necessary (yay me!). So, instead of giving unnecessary treatment, she filled and put a temp crown on the tooth and since I was already numb, filled a separate cavity that would have needed to be filled anyways. By not giving me unneccessary treatment, she saved me quite a bit of cash. The total cost of fixing two teeth was less than one root canal. In other words, awesome. They are awesome. I still have a ways to go to get my dental care back on track, but I am so happy it is this clinic who is going to help me get there.

My sentiments about the dentist I saw have not changed, but I…read moredidn't find it to be fair for the 3 stars to hurt Dr. Tran, who is such a phenomenal Orthodontist. 5 STAR for Dr. Tran and Jose, her assistant. --- Dentist I saw was NOT Dr. Nguyen, it was the other one whose name I honestly don't recall and he was just not professional. He came in, just started poking and prodding in my mouth without an introduction or so much as a hello. So I was caught off guard. He then immediately starts pointing out all the things I needed to get done, racking up a rather large bill. He did a cleaning that was painful, I have had many cleanings and as far as I know you shouldn't be jabbing into my gums. I was uncomfortable the whole time and I honestly didn't trust his judgement so I decided, never again. I got a second opinion, the other dentist who had raving reviews stated that "that dentist was after your money". Which is unfortunate. Does dental school have ethics courses? They should. :) ** Having said that, DR. TRAN, the Orthodontist at this office,is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. She is knowledgeable, courteous and respectful. I trust her judgement and she is receptive when I explain that I want something changed or want it different. I like that she is courteous and respectful to her staff as well. I highly recommend her. Pricing is fair as well for out of pocket Orthodontic Work. I guess I can't say much until the treatment is complete but so far so good. Lastly, as a side note, I do feel that the staff in this office needs to undergo some degree of training on professionalism. I have been scheduled for appointments with the wrong DDS, and despite the assistant making the mistake I got no apology, I drove out from DC to hear "well Dr. Tran isn't here on Thursdays", as if I can understand why I was scheduled for Thursday in the first place. Also, they are not very well versed on insurance and how PPOs work vs. Medicare vs. Medicaid. On my last visit, I inquired about seeing Dr. Nguyen as my general dentist so I can keep everything in the office. The front desk person proceeded to tell me that my insurance (which is through my employer) was a MediCARE insurance. I am under 30 years old. I explained, Medicare is for Senior Citizens, does that make sense to you that I am under 30 with Medicare? It is NOT medicare insurance. That is common knowledge for anyone working in a healthcare office (I have worked in healthcare for over 4 years), you need to learn the difference between an HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Your patients and your business depend on it. I ended up taking my PPO insurance elsewhere for dental care. The office is clean and has a nice modern look.
