Okay, they still have the restaurant upstairs (which I have frequented a number of times - it's pretty classy) and I'm not sure if that basement bar is still there (it is usually closed when I came by), but the Marble Bar is still out the back, and is still pretty much the same, with the exception that it now has a back door that opens out into a, well, not so much a beer garden, but a beer alley way spot to sit down (and they have another bar behind that). I'm not actually sure what to call it, except that it is out the back in the alley, but it is still pretty cool because it actually adds a bit of a grunge element to what in former times was sort of a classy bar, but not really.

Our studio room is small as expected, however has a large balcony and is very modern, clean and well appointed. I would definitely stay here again and it makes for a fabulous city break for locals or would be perfect for a traveller from interstate or overseas.

There is easy transition between levels, but not a whole lot of space for two cars crossing paths. I would advise driving slow through here. The elevator is located at one end of each level, so you may have to walk a bit to gain access to it. The elevator is kind of old and makes weird noises. But, it works. This is an unusual carpark, I think it is important that I point out a couple of things. Firstly, you must pay for your ticket at a ticket both near the valet part of the Playford across the street. I took a photo so you know what it looks like. There are a bunch of signs explaining this, but I see a lot of people still getting confused. The other thing is that the buttons for the elevator on the bottom level are not clearly marked. You will see a grey button. Hit that one to get into it. Final thing to note, is that this carpark is cheap if you are stopping in town during business hours. I'll just point out a few things that sticks out when I rethink the experience. The room is rather spacious, and the color choice of gold and black made the place seems very classy indeed. Bedding and pillows are very comfortable (the best I've tried so far is Pullman - Sydney). The queen bed is big enough to squeeze 2 adults and 2 kids. The coffee bar in room comes complete with a nespresso type of coffee machine. Complementary coffee available. The bathroom is alright, nothing too outlandish or special, the shampoo and body wash however is just unbelievably refreshing (yeah, I can't believe I'm saying this, I'm in love with a hotel provided shampoo) Appelles Apothecary & lab. That's the branding of the toiletries. OUTSTANDING. There's pool, and jacuzzi available in the basement. The kids love it. Oh, also a good size gym there, even though we didn't use it. All in all, a good day/night spent.

The alcohol flowed freely and there was plenty of food to fill my belly! The staff were super nice with every drink requested. That said, the food was nothing spectacular - the highlight were some little toast / crisps with yummy tomato and bocconcini cheese and the arancini balls - the rest was a little deep fried and 'blagh' - nothing all that special. The room it's self was nice - with a beautiful view over the lake - unfortunately it was night time on both occasions and the view was wasted due to a lack of lights over the water - perhaps something they could look into to enhance the venue? The air-conditioner was also on very cold both times I was here - what's with that?! On another occasion sometime ago I frequented the bar - it was nice for a bar that is part of a resort, but nothing overly memorable or unique!

There are some cool features of this hotel, like the frontage, location, self check in and the rooms are nice. But my sister stayed here with a couple of friends for her 18th birthday and ended up sleeping back at home. Now my sister is not the rowdy kind; she booked for a few friends to stay overnight and they were planning in going out for tea on Melb St and spending the night in the room later on. When she checked in, they asked for a bond, which she was never told about and was ridiculously expensive. Then the girls were getting ready at 6pm putting in makeup and doing their hair with music on and were told they were laughing too much and being noisy. So they turned the music down and tried to be a little quieter, but people 'apparently' kept complaining to staff and staff continued to tell them off. They thought this was ridiculous, it was 6pm! Things continued, they kept being warned about things, and in the end they were pretty much advised to leave, so all went and stayed at one of the girl's houses. My Mum found out, complained and tried to get money back, but nothing happened in the end. Doesn't make me want to stay there, personally.

SUPER SPACIOUS rooms and decent sized bathrooms to boot. Comfy beds, great lighting, plenty of towels etc etc. But then, when we needed a glass of water, we realised the key flaw. Whilst the room has a little kitchen bench and fridge, it doesn't have cups, glasses, a tap, or tea and coffee facilities. This means you have to fill up your water bottle in the bathroom, which I'll do if I have to, but its a bit icky. So overall, whilst I'd stay there again for a night, the design perhaps isn't ideal for longer term... unless they retrospectively add a sink to all the rooms. That being said, there's enough room for almost an entire kitchen... so maybe it isn't a bad idea!

At this price the Manna is a great stopover on the way to or from Adelaide by road. The rooms feel a little exposed from the outside, and neighbours gathering nearby are heard as clear as day. When I play gigs, the Rockford serves as the only nearby place that does coffee, making it a convenient little spot to get my caffeine fix. The interior is well-decorated, and the bossa nova tracks playing through the sound system gives it a very classy feel. The coffees are good; not excellent, but good. When you're all out of options and need a coffee quickly, there's not really any room for complaints. But I would gladly sip on one of their coffees even if the times weren't desperate. Whilst the bar is stocked with a large range of beers, wines, and spirits, I'm not sure if I'd want to drink their cocktails. I witnessed one of the bar stuff clumsily concoct a cocktail that was filled to the brim and oddly coloured, spilling all over the place whilst he carried it to a table. I think sticking with coffee or bottled beverages would be a wise choice.

The superior room was nice and large with reasonable amenities but nothing to get overly excited about. The water pressure was great and there was a good amount of hot water. Room servicing occurred as expected. Small niggles included the tv missing channels so finding something to watch was a little tedious as you skipped blank channels. Room was clean enough, but showing signs of wear and tear, nothing major, but not what I would expect from this chain of hotels. The biggest issue we found was the blue light that emanates from the fridge -at night its very bright! We ended up covering with a towel so as not to be disturbed. There was a party going on outside the hotel and it kept going until after 4am. Not the hotel's fault, but clearly the soundproofing could stand to be improved! I cant see myself staying here again as it was a little too far from where I wanted to be, and there just wasn't enough reason in the amenities of the hotel to justify the location. YMMV however.
