Calamari ($7.95)

SOLID 5 STARS My Wing Man Gary (USAF Pilot, retired) and I had a taste for scallops, so off to Dockside Dave's we went. I had my 8 large scallops ($24.95) prepared with my fav, lemon pepper, and Gary went with his fav, blackened. We also went with Dockside Onion Rings appetizer ($9.95). Topped it off with a great Bloody Mary. Dockside Dave's is a local favorite with great prices and great food. Emilie provided spot on service as well. Can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Trust me!

Service was great! Recommend sitting on 2nd floor to get the great ocean views. We went there as the grouper sandwich was highly recommended. It was good but very expensive and didn't come with a side and definitely not top 5 as recommendation noted. The wedge salad was really good and it was HUGE! Enough for 2 people. Lots of outdoor seating. Free parking which is nice and walking distance to Madeira Beach.

"Small" Onion rings were one big clump of grease

We were excited to try Dockside Dave's after hearing good things, especially since the seafood spot we originally planned to visit unfortunately never recovered from the hurricane. The bartenders were cool and friendly, and they talked us into trying the grouper. We ordered two grouper sandwiches with fries and a blackened medium shrimp meal with fries, plus onion rings. Our quick takeout lunch for three somehow ended up over $100. I don't mind paying market price for fresh fish, but I would've appreciated being told the current price of the grouper and that the fries were an additional charge. The grouper meal ended up around $31 compared with other sandwiches in the $14-$17 range. Unfortunately, opening the food was the bigger disappointment. The fries with ALL THREE meals were so hard we couldn't eat them. The blackened shrimp were cooked to a crisp, and the onion rings were extremely over-fried and greasy. The bright spot: the grouper itself was DELICIOUS. We tried both the beer-battered and breaded versions and really enjoyed them. That's what makes this so disappointing. There was clearly potential here, but for a $100+ takeout lunch, having that much of the order inedible was unacceptable. I wish we'd checked the food before leaving because we would've asked for those items to be remade. Hopefully the restaurant will give us an opportunity to make this experience right.

Best fish sandwich I've ever had and great onion rings too! We were only in the area for about 4 days and we went back for it! Staff was nice and the vibe was laid back.

We sat at bar as there was a wait for a table. James greeted us and got us ice cold beer to start. We ordered the Gigantic onion rings. They were so good. We shared the Grouper sandwich as it was HUGH!. Got it blackened Nice atmosphere. Open to outside downstairs and an upstairs bar and outdoor seating as well. We'll we got the grouper sandwich and it warm at best. We got it blackened, but flavor was lacking. We thought we were getting fries, but we were served waffled fries which were just barely warm. The slaw was warm at best. We went here way before the hurricane and the grouper was not that great then either. After hearing all the rave reviews about their grouper sandwich, not sure we'll be back. James the bartender was attentive as the bar was busy. The atmosphere was ok, just it was a little pricy, but I guess its for tourists mostly.

Love Love Love this place - so glad they opened back up after the big storm! Grouper Nuggets were so good! Fish was moist and the outside was crispy. Perfecto! Dave's Citrus Shrimp sooooooo DELICIOUS!!! Get them!!! Onion Rings... something changed..? The batter didn't seem quite the same as last time we were there. Still good, but not as "airy" and light as they were before. The staff was the same friendly, maybe even more upbeat, as before. Always happy to be there! The renovation is amazing - the new upstairs seating and the added bar is GREAT!! Love what they did. Got me some nice merch to show off that they are back in business!! Would I go back? YES... totally worth the trek from California !

Took a day trip and had lunch at DD's. The outside seating allows to enjoy a nice day with an ocean breeze to go along with some good food. The hand made onion rings are a meal by themselves which is what may happen next time with a beer. The fried oysters meal came with waffle fries sprinkled with old bay and they spoke to me! The shrimp po' boy had some really good Gulf shrimp that was good by themselves which. Our server Amanda was always there and made sure you were never in need.

Huge onion rings

They just recently renovated the building. It's nice and clean with outside seating and inside as well. Service is friendly and helpful. We ordered the large grouper sandwich blackened. It was huge and plenty for us to split. The largest onion rings I have ever seen. We got a small order. They were cooked perfectly and crispy. Best rings ever. We are always happy at this restaurant. Good drinks also.

Best seafood we have had. The food was very fresh, high quality and it was perfectly cooked. The scallops melted in your mouth.

Fish sandwich lived up to all the hype! A little expensive for a sandwich but very good! Will go back next time we are in Madeira Beach.

Overpriced. Food was good, but I think $20 was a bit much for a grouper fillet, waffle fries, and coleslaw. Service was fast and friendly.

So nice we had to visit TWICE…read more The coconut crusted mahi mahi was a highlight. It was soft and fully coated with obviously real coconut - not sugared or overly sweet. It was a huge fillet, which makes up for having some smaller sides. I'll let you in on a little secret, I only eat fish when it's locally caught and fresh and this was worth it 100%. The house salad with Pima colada dressing has me imagining how to make this dressing at home. Sweet and creamy and easily coating every leaf. The bread at the start of the meal for a disproportionate amount of attention from my family. It was served hot, with garlic and maybe other seasonings across the top, and generous sides of butter. Our initial server, Kyle, kept the bread flowing for us until the meal came and it was fantastic. We gave the potato skins a try, and they were delicious! My family ironically isn't huge conch / shelled fish eaters so the rest of the appetizers didn't suit us much and this was a lil Midwest taste while on vacation. We returned to try the jalapeño crusted grouper and were again very satisfied. Totally different than the coconut mahi, it's savory and well flavored but leaves you far from begging for water. The fish is thick and flaky and the sauce was similar to a bang bang sauce to pair it all together. The favorite sides were loaded baked potato and garlic smashed potatoes! I'd say it's a must visit during your trip to Madeira !

My mother and I came in for the "Supper Club", which is a fantastic deal for $25. We didn't get a seat on the patio, even walking in just before 5, so you should definitely make a reservation if you want to enjoy the views. We both ordered the supper club, which came with bread, salad, your choice of entree and a small dessert. I couldn't help myself, so I also ordered the escargot and some oysters. The oysters were perfectly shocked and quite a treat. The escargot was very good, but served with very oily bread. The escargot dish was already very buttery and I think the bread should have simply been toasted. I loved my salad. They do great Caesar salads in all the restaurants I've been to in this area. Just perfect. I was glad I ordered some apps because the supper club portions were small. The scallops were tasty, albeit a few bites. My mom ordered the fisherman's platter and she got a more full plate. Either way, we were both very satisfied. The meal ended with a small strawberry crumble with ice cream. For under $100, we ordered a ton of food. They also had great drink specials. I highly recommend checking out the supper club if this place was out of your budget before!

You order at the counter when you walk in and you can sit down anywhere. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is fairly clean and very organized and the condiments are always stocked. They have a self serve water and soda station. The lobster is on the pricier side. It used to not be $30 however it is very worth it. I love to get the warm lobster roll and it comes with a lobster butter. I like to get their coconut shrimp since it's hand battered on site and also their onion rings are also hand battered made to order. They have a really good smoky dipping mayo sauce that comes with the onion rings or fries. It is a very good sauce. I would say it's the saltier version of cane sauce and a small gear version as well. It's absolutely phenomenal. You will never find a better coconut shrimp or a better onion rings than here this place really does it very well better than any place I've ever had homemade. The lobster roll is very very fresh. I would definitely get it again. It is always always fresh. You'll never get a bad lobster roll here not like at the other places. I think this is the only place in Florida that does it the best I used to fly to Boston just to get a lobster roll and ever since I've been here I don't have to do that anymore lol. Their clam chowder soup is extra thick and that is the best type of clam chowder soup ever I loved just dip my onion rings in there and the coconut shrimp in there and the lobster roll in there. It is absolutely delicious. The best you'll get in the area.
