There is a wide, gravel trail (wheelchair accessible just make sure someone able to push through- took grandma & loved it) going around the entire rez (3.4KM) but off this main gravel trail is 2 dozen trails (no official map, just have to look for the openings!) My favourite trail we call "beaver trail" - named because you pass a beaver dam! (have never seen a beaver but always have my camera ready...) To get to the beaver trail: Go clockwise. The opening is 3 minutes after you start on the gravel trail - its wide enough for 1 person so bring your carrier. Also, I've been temped to let my dogs off leash in these trails but one day I came across 2 poripines (they left us alone and we left them alone, no harm) but from then on will not let me doggies off leash (as the sign states lol) There are lots of beaches as well! To get to the best private beach people bring their poochies to: Go clockwise around trail. When you come to bridge take the trail to the right (along the water) There will be other small trails leading off but keep going straight and you come to a beautiful beach. Get out, enjoy and make your own family map of the trails you discover

At low tide, you can walk right out onto the ocean floor, which we did) and explore around the giant rock formations. Then the tide comes back in and the whole place looks completely different. At high tide, the water around the rocks can be 30-50 feet deep. You can be walking on the ocean floor one minute and looking at several metres of water covering the same spot a few hours later. Fun experience! It's about a km walk to get to the stairs to the ocean through the woods (it's a nice walk). You can also take a $2 shuttle. We walked to the stairs, walked around the ocean floor and took the shuttle back to the info centre.

We went at low tide and enjoyed seeing the rocks up close.

I knew only that the nearby town Alma is known for its extreme tides. As mosquitos descended upon us, I fully expected to have a crappy time. This was not the case! Fundy is AWESOME. Between the incredible staff, the non-stop educational programs for all ages (we indulged in a fun sing-a-long campfire where hot chocolate was served, a moonlit guided kayak tour, numerous hikes and beach walks, etc) and the well-maintained trails, this is one of the most incredible parks I've ever visited. It has outshined every park I've been to in the US. It's tucked away in true wilderness, the kind of which I've never seen before, not even in Alaska. Miles and miles of open space. It was very green, and the air smelled sweet. And every sign was bilingual, which is exciting for a francophile like me! But it got even more exciting for me: In the national park gift shop, they had two books I illustrated!! I could not believe having traveled all that way and then seeing my own work in the gift shop, that was the coolest!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Fundy's lush waterfalls, excitable bats, cartoonish bullfrogs, abundant wildflowers, fresh air, approachable and friendly interpreters, educational programs, wonderful trails, views and serenity. I'm glad we made the trip! Thank you to all the interpreters of Fundy, especially Pat, for making our trip extraordinary!

For the hiking touring, this place is probably your dream come true. The day I as here, the visibility was nill at best. I did go down to one view point where I could somewhat make out a rock formation with a tree on it. They call it a flower pot. The rest of the drive, was just that a drive due to lack of visibility. On my way back the fog lifted enough that I could make cliffs and rocky bottom... I will say that the signage in the page is poor. You come to a lookout for a beach, and to take the trail down you don't know whether to take the trail to the left or right from the lookout. Also unlike other Fundy locations, the signage in regards to the trails (difficulty etc) was poor as well. Never found the beach below. Disability access... yes there are boardwalk spots and boardwalk lookouts... but to get to them is another story! Wheelchair access from my point of view is little to none. For the walking impaired, there are stairs everywhere and some that gave a new level of difficulty. not just to me but also a service dog.... I'm not really impressed, but I did get some good pictures with the receding fog... I recommend thinking twice, if not a third time regarding this place... I look forward to what others have to say about this place. Parking was ample. Staff... saw some but there was no interaction (they were mowing) and the lady at the gate was not what I would call pleasant.

Winter is here!…read more This spot is a perfect place for a myth to originate from. I don't know if there are any Canadian or First Nation myths that originate with this cave. However I do know of one story told in the Slavic tradition. There is a Russian mythological being called Snegurochka or Snow Maiden. I like the version where she only can come to life in the the winter and melts in the summer. Only to be reborn in next winter snows storm. I can imagine this cave would be the perfect home for a supernatural being like Snegurochka. It took me 45 minutes to walk along the snow packed trail mostly uphill. I'm somewhat of a fast walker too. The little ravine is safe to get to, but quite slippery in some parts. I did see some young couples with small children brave the trail.

I wore sneakers and active wear clothing, so at least I planned that part right. You're most likely going to get your shoes dirty and or wet, the beginning of the trail is pretty muddy and it had rained the night before so there was a small river running over path for a good distance. After a few kms the path gets less ATV-ish and nicer, still tons of roots though. I would suggest packing a lunch or snack for when you reach the end. The best part was sitting on the cliff, enjoying the view and eating something. I took my shih tzu and he was able to walk/run the whole thing. He was a mess when we finished, because he loved the mud holes, and was so tired he didn't care about walking straight through them. Don't forget snacks for the dog! That slipped my mind, but luckily someone at the look off point had a big bag of them. Pack lots of water, wear comfortable sneakers and you will be fine. We came across lots of dogs, kids and people of all ages. The view is beautiful, and worth every step!

Wow!!!! Having been very disappointed by a similar attraction named "Spook Hill" located over 3,000 kilometers away in Lake Wales, Florida (http://www.yelp.com/biz/spook-hill-lake-wales), I decided to check out Magnetic Hill to see if my car did roll uphill this time. Located off of TC Highway 2 Exit 450 (Highway 126) adjacent to the Magic Mountain Water Park and Wharf Village, there are plenty of signs directing you to the Magnetic Hill attraction. A $5.00 per vehicle gate admission is charged (during peak season), and you are directed to a staging area to read further instructions (in English/French): 1) Drive in right lane to the bottom of hill. 2) Pull over into left lane beside white post. (where the paved section becomes a dirt road) 3) Place vehicle in neutral. 4) Release foot from brake. 5) Guide your vehicle backwards up the hill. Reluctantly with skepticism, we followed the instructions to a T and guess what????? Surprisingly to us, OUR CAR SEEMED TO ROLL BACKWARDS UPHILL FOR OVER 700 FEET!! Well, Magnetic Hill is actually an ILLUSION with the surrounding terrain disguising the true horizontal level of the ground. The "secret" behind Magnetic Hill is illustrated on a sign at the adjacent Wharf Village (check out the posted review picture). This roadside illusion was pretty cool. Overall, this pitstop off the highway was worth checking out on our way to Prince Edward Island. Now I can say that I've been to both Spook Hill in Florida and Magnetic Hill in New Brunswick, being impressed by the latter. That's my 1,100th Yelp review, and first milestone review in Canada, eh!
