I would normally be wary of something so close to a popular tourist site, but after visiting la Mezquita at the end of an almost-100 degree day out and about, we needed something close by. A quick google search brought us here-yessssss!
They have central A/C - which at that point was enough to make us happy - but then Karim seated us, let us try a couple of wines before we found one we liked, clarified the things we didn't know on the menu, and made recommendations that ended up being perfect for us. Loved him, and then there was the assist from Julian, who chatted with us, made suggestions for the rest of our trip in other parts of Spain, and was all around super as well. The food is delicious and wonderfully prepared-we had a mix of Cordobán and Andalusian dishes from the menu, and each was better than the next: the eggplant with a caramelized glaze, flamenquin with cheese and shrimp, patatas cortijeras, and the arroz negro con alioli...life-changing black rice, I swear! We shared 2 desserts, I'm totally blanking on the names, one is a cheese-based smooth custard, the other is an awesome combo of sugared phyllo crust with an angle hair sweet, cinnamony filling...love!
The servings were generous, and the food and bottles of wine very well priced. There was live music starting as we were walking out. I hope to make it back to Córdoba one day soon, and I'll definitely come back here for more yummy goodness read more
