Was wondering around outside Alcazar and needed a light lunch. El Olivo was a convenient option right near the citadel walls. They have menus in English on request for people like myself. The gazpacho was different from when I have had it in Seville and Granada. This one was not as thin and came with a set of toppings on the side to add in. Peppers, tomatoes, onion and crutons. This made the gazpacho a bit more filling. I also ordered a red pepper salad. I was confused whether I'm misunderstanding the word salad in Spain. It said nothing about meat and eggs on the menu for this dish. And it came with chicken and eggs. The peppers didn't really taste like anything, just cold and slimy. I'm not sure what I expected, but sadly it was the worst dish I had in Spain. My wife just had dessert, almond slice with anis seed. Not a regular dessert. They flambe the dessert at the table. Could definetely taste the anis. Service was good and fast. read more
