I was a bit hesitant to join as I felt the full series was a big commitment. Quickly after I joined, I ended up looking forward to being in class every week. Now I couldn't be happier that I went for it, and thankful for my friend suggesting it! Jasmine was the main instructor. She guided us with such passion and expertise, occasionally supported by Nicole. Together, they created an environment where I felt encouraged and challenged at all times. You can really see not only how much knowledge and skill they have, but also how much love they pour into what they do. This course has done wonders for my confidence on the dance floor. When I first started, I was nervous about dancing at socials (and clueless on how to do so), but by the end of the program, I have been able to dance through full songs without fear and very little hesitation. There's so much to learn still, but woah! This is a strong beginning. Plus, Dancer University provides a 2 hour space for all students from different courses/all levels to get together and practice on the weekend. It was SO helpful to build up confidence while dancing at socials was still too intimidating. Their logistics team is great too and will help accommodate you for a different class, if anything comes up and you can't make it to your usual class. That was a huge plus! Only thing I didn't like.. was I didn't want the series to end! Which means DU will continue to see more of me. Looking forward to it! Thank you all for an incredible experience learning and dancing with you. I loved every second of it!

I love dancing, and Joe and Maria are incredibly professional. They explain everything in detail and give attention to every student. They're always ready to help and guide you if something doesn't work out. The atmosphere in the classes is very positive and friendly - it feels like you're part of a big dance family The studio itself has several dance rooms. They are always clean, cozy, well-ventilated, equipped with air conditioning, and have large mirrors, which is very important for dance practice. The receptionist is also very pleasant, positive, and friendly. I was absolutely delighted with my experience at this studio and would happily recommend it to my friends who love dancing.

She makes sure you get the moves while also keeping the environment supportive, comfortable, and celebratory. I love when she gets so excited that she literally starts screaming because someone in class is going off. She celebrates people constantly, by name or even just noticing something they're rocking like, "Yes, GREEN JUMPSUIT!" Being the only guy in the class, I've never once felt isolated, judged, or uncomfortable about assumptions people might make about me. I've only ever felt celebrated. It was refreshing not having to navigate that in a public place. She encourages fluidity in whatever way feels right for you, whether it's super masc, super feminine, or somewhere in between. Her focus is helping you connect to your artistic dance spirit, and that's when you know you're doing it right. She also celebrates neurodiversity and really focuses on what the strengths are within that, while also helping people navigate certain challenges. Karma's class is more than just learning choreography. Watching her dance is witnessing powerful, raw, and inspiring artistry. When she demos, it honestly feels like a mini performance during class. Then when she dances with us right after, you feel like this epic backup dancer, and it inspires new moves and articulations within you. There's also a strong sense of community in Karma's class. She's built a culture where you not only bring self-love to the class, but appreciation and love for the people dancing alongside you. Someone might be doing a twerk, an offbeat wild move on their chair, or some epic crawl across the floor, and the whole class erupts with roaring encouragement. Karma encourages asking questions about the dance moves and routines. She absolutely loves them. But remember, she's an A-type personality, so be sure to raise your hand. ; ] She's also a motivational instructor because she's real. She doesn't say generic things. Sometimes she shares philosophies or lessons that helped her in life, and I've caught myself thinking, "How is this level of Impacting dialogue happening in a chair dance class?" It's a one-of-a-kind experience that involves a chair, saucy moves, and surprising moments of human-centered community, full of loving people hosted by the radiant Karma!

I also appreciated her focus on hip hop fundamentals like popping and waving as part of our warmup. While I enjoyed the class, I think it would have been intimidating if it was my first time setting foot in a dance studio. I would encourage the front desk employees to greet first time visitors and give them a brief rundown of the space, where to place your belongings, what to expect from class, etc. A lot of the people in the class seemed to know each other already which just shows you how popular these classes are. I hope to return soon!

A little over a year ago, I saw that WLAD offers adult tap classes (a rare find!), I thought I'd give it a go, and I'm so grateful for the community I've found here! While WLAD is traditionally a studio for kids, I love that they offer tap, jazz, hip-hop, and ballet exclusively for adults, and in a completely non-judgmental environment (Heavy on the non-judgmental - EVERYONE is welcome, even if you're a total novice!). If you're even considering trying it out, I highly encourage you to come tap with us. I've been coming to Kistina's weekly class for over a year now, and I'm so happy to have dance back in my life!

THIS IS IT! I've been taken her classes everywhere from East LA to West LA…read more I've taken different dance classes at different places but they were never satisfied me. Either it's too focused on work out or too much on techniques, I want a class that is fun, energetic, brings me confidence and inspiration. One day my dream finally came true when I bumped into Andrea's class. YAY!!! As a newbie to her class, it's a bit challenge at the beginning. But don't get intimidated, I believe it's the same for everyone the first time. After the first class, it opens up your uncomfortableness and your courage keeps growing. I CAN DO IT! Sounds fascinated isn't it? The good thing is Andrea is a great observant and she will teaches you how to let go and just enjoy yourself. You will get better each time in the class. What I like the most about the class: #1 FUN!!! If you are one of those girls who can't stand treadmill and want a good workout, this is for you. Through the one hour nonstop dance session you won't know how much you sweat. You burn the calories as if you don't even notice. Because her class includes a combination of different dance styles, hip hop, Latin, Zumba, etc. and core exercises which allows you to exercise every parts of your muscles in different intensity. #2 Great music!!! First of all, her music is like magic, in one song it turns you into a super happy girl, the next turns you into a sexy lady. Also, I don't know if you have the same experience like me or not, when you hear the right music with the right beat, it alleviate your mood and make it feel like doing abs move/sit up so much easier. Andrea found these right type of music that suit every different moves you have. #3 Free the spirit. This class is quite powerful. Taking this class is like having a personal dialogue with yourself. Through each dance movements, I can feel it as who I am, learn how to move as women, and communicate with the inner self and be more confident, sexy and happy, feeling the women empowerment. After taking her class, I felt more confident and happier. Tips: LA dance fit offers free trial for her first class. So just let the front desk know it's your first time. Also, she's teaching at Your Neighborhood Studio every Thursday at 6pm. Survival rule: JUST LET GO & ENJOY YOURSELF! Alright. It's your turn to experience this class and let me know what you think.

Ms. Emily has the biggest heart and is a complete natural at interacting with children so young. At the beginning of the session, when my daughter had just turned 2, she had a lot of trouble focusing on her teacher and following instructions - which I learned is completely okay. Over time, her ability to focus improved and she would look forward to her ballet and tap class every weekend. Her favorite part was when Ms. Emily would give a sticker or glitter at the end of class. I loved watching how happy she was in class and how much she talked about it afterwards. Sadly, due to the COVID situation, the studio has been closed for the last two months and our routine has been disrupted. We're really hopeful that the situation improves in Los Angeles and we can find a way to have the class back in a safe way. We can't wait to be back! P.S. Funny story.. I was SO excited to put my (then) 2 year old in a mommy & me ballet class that I read the class instructions very carefully... the dress code was fairly specific (a certain color leotard, tights, ballet slippers etc). So I thought the moms were supposed to dress up just like their daughters. First class ever, I showed up in full leotard and tights to dance with my girl! After that, I realized the moms come in regular clothes so I was careful to dress appropriately from then on. Just a tip for other moms enrolling in the mommy & me class!
