Absolutely lovely place. Tons of free resources for the community including Apple and PC computers. I know they have other technology available for use too like free coding courses and three d printing. Currently you do have to be a member and make a reservation to use the technology but I have walked in and gotten a reservation right away because it's not been too busy when I've gone. They also have tons of free things of kids to learn about technology and for those who are more tech illiterate to learn more!! Very clean and quite and they have cheap printing. An absolutely amazing organization located in the old Borders Building on the corner of 72nd and Dodge The primary goal/focus is to provide computer and technology training to all for no charge. Do Space is a registered 501c3 non-profit. The space itself is quite impressive. High ceilings and rows upon rows of computers available for use as you walk in (both PCs and Macs). Conference centers and meeting rooms equipped with audiovisual equipment that can be reserved for your events. A super cool 3D printing lab and laser cutting system. You can also check out Computers, tablets for use within the facility. Check out the Do Space website at www.DoSpace.org to get the most up to date list of training. Classes start accepting registration 30 days out. Use of the facility and technology are free, but you have to sign up for a membership card. The process is quick. Just show a photo ID, they put you in the system and start checking things out. The information desk and volunteers are extremely helpful and eager to assist in any way they can I have already seen several classes that I am interested in to include learning how to do 3D printing Oh and did I mention that everything is free? The only charge will be for materials if you are printing and/or doing 3D in order to pay for the filament. read more

I appreciate what Do Space is doing and it's nice the old Borders location is being used. I also see the challenge of trying to find a quiet place to work and meet with colleagues. I was meeting a friend for business and we needed a quiet place to talk. The board room was locked (I think it needs to be reserved) so we sat at some tables near the print center. That day the noise level was low, but I do see the need for more quiet spaces. Next time I visit I will walk around a bit more to find those spaces. read more

I'm in from out of town and needed to get some work done so someone recommended Do Space, I'm glad they did. This place has a ton of computers, affordable printing, comfortable chairs, a helpful staff, and cool kids areas. It's really easy to sign up, no charge. I have no idea how this place makes money, but I am glad it's here to accommodate the many people working here today and each day. read more

Do Space is a free public digital library and makerspace at a central crossroads of Omaha. In addition to a 3D printer lab they have both Mac and PC computers available for use. Membership is free and you can get one even if you don't live in Omaha. A great tech space for Omaha. Well done. read more

I always loved the ideal of this place but when i went to print off somthing the staff over the phone was very helpful and even when i got there the girl at the desk was sweet, but the guys at the tec help desk acted like everything i needee help with was a pain and a hassle. Even getting up from his desk to help me find a computer was apparently overwhelming to him. The only response i got when i asked with help on there computer to use photoshop was "no one here can help with that" Whete was the nice guy on the phone who said he would help with every step! Uuuuh, idk about this place. I'm just really disappointed i think. I used to go to UNO, so like, as a recent grad (im in my mid 20s) i guess im just used to REALLY helpful workers or whatever. The staff sucked, like, hands down no question. Either get some HELPFUL & friendly nerds in there, or just replace them with super adults that aren't tech savvy, but are incredibly nice, bc the current staff is neither friendly, nor helpful. Buncha early 20 something hipster brats with their heads up their asses that think they're too cool for school. ALSO i frikkin hate kids around while im trying like, legit, do a project, (& tbh, just in general). I came in here today bc my laptop's Photoshop wasn't updated (student account finally expired,) & I wanted to use the newest photoshop to do a quick 1x project for a friend. HALF that place was 10 & unders, playing frikkin video games. WHY??? Why is that allowed?? & then there's some kind of baby corner? A baby was screaming every few minutes for the last 2hrs i was in there, not exaggerating. If DO SPACE wants to be taken seriously & be an actual place of learning & development, it needs to be less of a f***ing daycare. I know it's free, but geez. Ppl that need to get work done but that might not have access to the best programs & the fastest computers shouldn't have to feel like they're at a daycare with s*** staff that don't even want to be there. Do Space is a cool place where you can come and up your technology game. Privately funded, the facility hosts events and seminars that educate you in different facets of technology. They also have rows of Macs, materials, print lab and equipment free to patrons to use in their technological pursuits. All you have to do is create a free account. The staff is friendly and very helpful in helping you to navigate. They even have a class that teaches you how to hack! read more

What a great facility. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The facility is clean, new, and has a wide variety of cutting edge technology available. 3D printing can be done if you provide materials, there are many computer banks, and even a kids center with video games and snap circuits. A terribly disappointing experience. Do Space was described to me as "the Children's Museum for STEM". Unfortunately, that's probably the least accurate description ever given for an establishment. The staff was extremely unhelpful, and didn't even appear interested in being there. I asked for suggestions on what my 8 and 6 year old could do - and one person told me to ask the Help Desk and the person at the Help Desk simply shrugged and said that I would need to ask a full-time staff member (apparently he was a volunteer). The only thing we saw were some computers that we could not get logged into (and again, the staff was unwilling and unable to assist) and a touch screen TV to watch movies on. I cannot strongly enough urge people to avoid this place. You get what you pay for (it's free, so that's a positive) - but Do Space is not anywhere you should think about going. read more

This was my first experience here. Unfortunately the first thing I noticed was the overwhelming smell of BO :/ but besides that the experience was overall good. I was here with a client from work who chose to spend his after school time playing video games in the teen room. I am not technologically inclined and we ended up asking for help. The guy initially didn't leave his desk and didn't really answer our question but after awhile joined us in the room and showed us where the consoles were. He didn't stick around to ensure we got the game up which would have been nice because we spent the next 15 min figuring it out. While I was sitting there I decided to sign up for a free membership on my phone and then went and picked up a card at the front desk. The guy sitting at the front desk was a little too friendly in my opinion which was slightly off putting. I can see all of the great potential this place has and it's value in the community. There were people of all ages utilizing the technology available. I also saw a lot of parents and young kids doing activities together which was nice. They could work on the customer service based on my first visit but overall it's a neat spot. read more

If you ever need to learn something computer related, give these guys a call. They have tons of computers, tablets and printers all able to do any number of applications. A modern library, and with friendly, knowledgable staff, I hope Do Space can be around for a while. read more

I read a lot in the paper about the planning of this place so I was anxious to check it out when it finally opened. It's at a great central location in the old Borders bookstore building at 72nd & Dodge. I was there to scan some documents into PDF format which took only seconds to save to my flash drive with the assistance of a help desk staff member. While there I also took the opportunity to use one of their many computers and print some documents. Color printing is .25 per page, b&w is ten cents each. A great option for those with old technology or none at all. They also have space for people to plug in and use their own devices and a couple of small conference rooms that can be reserved in advance. I did not check out the actual 3D Maker Space or children/teen areas but would like to on a future visit. They offer lots of workshops and events for people of all ages on a variety of software and applications - just browse and register online. What a great resource for our community! read more

Terrible decision to eliminate the 4 chairs with backs around your lobby's coffee table with no back stools. Those stools are not meant for sitting at a coffee table. Terrible place now to wait for others and use your tech facility. Why would potential donors give to facility that makes them feel immediately unwelcome? read more

My kids love this place. Stuff to keep adults busy, while we pretend we are bringing the kids.

It's great. They provide wifi and printing. I just wish that they had a place for kids and a place for people who want to get things done. It's like a daycare. It's very distracting to do anything. read more

Cool concept, terrible people. My husband and I went to the Do Space for the first time today because our printer wasn't working and I needed to print some fairly important documents. As we had never been there before, we needed to ask questions to figure out where, and how to use the printer. The first man I spoke with at the tech desk just rolled his eyes and pointed to a "printer section sign". Okay. So I go where the printer is, but am extremely confused by the setup, and how to get my docs to print. My husband asks another man at the tech desk. This time the guy answers but doesn't even turn around to look at us. We needed to get a library card. Literally, the ONLY nice and helpful person was the girl working the info desk. After I got my card, I was too afraid to ask any further questions in fear that the tech guys would continue to treat me like dirt, so I spent time doing trial and errors before figuring it out. The place is pretty cool. The customer service is 0/10. I shouldn't be made to feel like nothing just because I don't know how to do something. read more

DoSpace is an amazing place, full of loads of cool stuff! They have a lot of technology that a geek like me would want to use, such as the Raspberry Pi and the Makey Makey, and lots more! They also host classes, meetings, etc. They have a variety of software that is spread out among the 100+ computers, including Microsoft Office, Blender, and other software for all needs. I could ramble on and on about how awesome this place is, but I will talk about a one-star review that I read. Ryan B., Your experience is most unfortunate. Whenever I go there, there is always someone willing to help. To log in to a computer, you need a DoSpace membership, which you can get online at their website. The rest can be figured out easily. On the volunteer not giving you a proper answer-that's on him. The touch screen TVs and gaming TVs and other TVs are all there, with lots of games and stuff, but in the shelves around them, there are tech kits that you can use. Some of the boxes may be empty, but the directions say to check out tech. 8 and 6 year olds would go to the little lab, I guess, and they could explore the technology there. There are a few labs, meeting rooms, and the 3D lab! DoSpace has a 3D printing lab, with 3 3D printers, which staff can help you with or you can use yourself if you make a reservation! The staff will be willing to help you use Blender or other software to get the model good. Then, you can take it to the Tech Desk to get it printed.
