But anyway this location has been a miss with me lately. No good clothes or records -- I've only managed to score a couple worthwhile nicknacks here and there. I've also noticed that there is always quite the variety of scuzzy furniture for sale -- too bad anything in reasonably good shape is overpriced and/or always has a sold tag attached to it. Still, it's a huge store that's worth checking out if you're in the area with an hour to kill. I did find a nice '80s 10-speed bike here a while back. Still, as rusty as it was, not a great deal for $35.

I have had the pleasure of volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in many different times in my…read morelife (high school, college, adulthood), and have seen first hand the good they do for the community. My most recent volunteer activity was with my company, so I had a group of folks I knew from my day-to-day life there with me, but you won't always have that. But that means you'll meet a few strangers to turn into new friends! There is a task for any level of expertise. If you're a newbie, you may just be holding a ladder for a bit. If you're a little green but have some experience you may be able to paint some things. If you're an expert and have experience in certain construction things, they may even have you helping to attach doors and put up drywall. These are just examples, but the point is that no matter your skill-set, don't let it keep you from volunteering. The main "construction" of cement pouring and foundation building is obviously done by actual professionals, so you can't do anything that will mess up the house too bad. I definitely recommend volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. While it may be hot (because most builds have been done during the summer in my experience), and some hard work, it can actually be a lot of fun!

We spent several hours building a home for a very fortunate family. Jordan was our team lead and he was very knowledgeable and communicated with everyone very professionally. If you are reading this, look up Habitat for Humanity and give a few hours to help a family with your sweat labor. Habitat for Humanity is a great organization and they are doing some very good things in Omaha, for the people of Omaha. They have several programs to help families become a home owner.

When we checked in, we were the only ones participating in the private experience. The intern working there, I believe her name was Kara, was very friendly and did an excellent job explaining everything throughout the tour. This experience is advertised as an "interactive, hands-on experience," where you get to meet some animals that aren't included with general admission, such as the capybara, kangaroo, fox, porcupine, and raccoons. Most of the other animals can be interacted with during the regular experience, with the exception of the animals mentioned above and the wolfdog. The description states that the tour lasts 90 minutes, but we completed the entire experience in about 40 minutes. That may have been because it was just the two of us rather than a full group of six. As part of the safari experience, you're able to choose one animal to spend an additional 10-15 minutes with, and we chose the fox. I do wish they had mentioned at the beginning of the tour that the foxes tend to be skittish. Had we known that, we might have chosen a different animal for our extended interaction. They also provide a bucket of food so you can feed some of the animals during the experience. Overall, we definitely enjoyed spending time with the animals and learning more about them. However, in my opinion, the experience is priced way too high for what is included. While it was a fun and memorable visit, I personally don't feel it was worth the $125 per person cost.

I love this theater because they always have local canned cocktails, great popcorn and a friendly staff! The movies are shown in intimate theaters with decent seats. It's $7 for member tickets, $9 for students, teachers, or military, and $12 for non members! I love supporting local, it is worth every penny to go and see a movie here!
