Speciale, Caprese, kids cheese pizza, and Seafood Linguine.
    Kristen W.

Everything was good. It's hard to find good Italian in East Tennessee so we were very excited to that the food was as good as it was. We did the Caprese for an appetizer, seafood linguine, Speciale (braised beef pasta), cheese pizza, salted caramel gelato, and tiramisu. They should expand the pasta options because they do a great job with their pasta.

I thought this place was great! I thought it was going to be your typical run of the mill pizza place but it was much fancier than I thought. The service was great! Everything was delicious and high quality. The cocktails were top tier and the kids pizza is actually enormous I was shocked. One thing I really appreciated was that you can do half and half pizzas so you don't have to decide. We also really appreciated that the kids pizza came out first and was very fast whether this was intentional or not it was appreciated. When you have a hungry toddler, the faster the better. Highly recommend!

Walking into Do Scratch, I felt like I was going into a high end Italian restaurant. It's threw me off a little bit because I was going into a pizza joint but this is no corner pizzeria. The service was top tier with the ambiance of high end Italian restaurant with a solid wine selection. The pasta was really good, I got the seafood linguini which comes with shrimp, squid, octopus & clams over a lobster bisque base. It was really refreshing, with a good portion of octopus tentacles and shrimp. I wish there were more clams but that's a minor complaint. The biggest issue for me was the lobster bisque base itself, it was light and refreshing but, I like my bisque more creamy, the bisque barely coated my spoon. Pasta tasted fresh and cooked al dente. The Neapolitan style pizza was topped with high quality ingredients. The caramelized pineapple gives it an extra depth and punch of sweetness to contrast the cheeses & salami. I wish the pizza itself had a little bit more char to it. Don't get me wrong, the food is really good, I'm judging this place based on the ambiance they are projecting and the price charged. Solid 4/5.

We came in and did not expect the high end Italian style for pizza. But it ended up being one of the best pizzas we've had in awhile. It was nice being away from the hustle and bustle of the tourism and the Jeep Invasion. This definitely felt more like a local spot. I think when we came in there was maybe 3 other tables with people. So it wasn't bad at all. We started with the focaccia bread and it was dreamy. It would've been fantastic with a little Parmesan cheese though. My husband and I decided to split the Pepperoni Pizza. I was initially afraid it wouldn't be enough it it was perfect. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and we can't wait to come back.

Do Pizza is hands-down one of the best spots I've tried in a long time! From the moment you walk in, the cozy, welcoming vibe sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. Let's talk about the pizza--oh my goodness! The crust is perfection: crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, with just the right amount of char from the oven. Every topping tastes like it was picked fresh that morning. Whether you go classic or adventurous with your choice, every bite is pure bliss. And then there's the Alfredo pasta with chicken. Creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor, the Alfredo sauce is clearly made from scratch, and the chicken is perfectly tender and juicy. It's a dish that feels both comforting and indulgent in the best way. Our kids enjoyed the pepperoni pizza and spaghetti and meatballs (both finishing their plates which says a lot!). The cocktails are amazing as well. Creative, balanced, and expertly crafted, each one complements the food beautifully. Whether you're a fan of bold flavors or something more subtle, they've got something to satisfy everyone. Lastly the service was great, friendly, attentive, and helpful on making menu suggestions. Do Pizza is a great local spot if you want something classy, fresh and original. I only wish we were local so we could visit more often!

Great Italian, more authentic than places like Olive Garden. Would highly recommend.

We were in the area for some shopping and my wife wanted Italian food. The place we went before is now Mexican food, so we decided to try this new place....this is now our favorite place in East TN. The ambiance is upscale casual (come as you are OR dress to the nines). The wait staff was super...friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu....we highly recommend Carie....she is phenomenal! Now, the food....OMG....the food (my wife had the Alfredo linguini with a chicken breast and I had the "Prime" Filet tips with Pappardelle pasta). Both dishes were phenomenal, with generous portions. The pasta is handmade. Next visit, we plan to try the handmade brick oven pizza....stay tuned...

The food is so so good. The pasta is fresh and you can tell authentic. The pizza is perfection. The ambiance is perfect for a date night or family dinner. We loved it.

It is away from from the beaten path of the Smokies and they recommend reservations for dinner. Open at 3pm, I called and he gave us a 6:15 time which worked well on a slower Wednesday. The entrance gives way to a nice bar area with a few TVs, booths and white linen tables. We each settled on a bottle of Sangiovese and Pinot Grigio and the mussels appetizer and bruschetta. Our waiter Andrei was professional and prompt. We decided to have a glass of wine and enjoy conversation and our apps without ordering our entrees and expediting the occasion. Andrei checked back several times and kept our waters full and was very patient. We settled on clams fettuccini with a white wine butter sauce and my lady got the mussels in the same sauce. It was a garlic lover's delight and I'm certain I'll never be a vampire. We enjoyed the setting and the atmosphere was relaxed. A liquid dessert pour of tequila and whiskey settled us and we skipped dessert although it was tempting. Overall the prices were a bit higher but the service was excellent and our meal rang true. It was a great first impression and we had leftovers. It will be added into our rotation and look forward to trying other pastas and seafood.

The Frutti di Mare is phenomenal!!!…read more We happened upon this wonderful location by watching "Adventure is Out There" on YouTube. Totally off the beaten path, and so worth it. Just when you think you're lost, you arrive. The Focaccia bread that is served really good. Suggest getting marina as opposed to olive oil for dipping. The meatball was nice sized (big enough to share) and marinara sauce was really good. The Frutti di Mare was suggested by our waiter Anthony (very knowledgeable about the menu and offerings) to use white wine sauce. It was a great suggestion. The ingredients were obviously fresh and the portion size was easily shareable. We shared a Tiramisu. And let me preface that my wife has never liked this dessert. But the YouTube review swayed her perspective. And she loved it. You can tell that it's a labor to make (we talked to the owner's wife and she concurred). The only negative would be due to personal preference. The Caesar salad dressing didn't have anchovies. It was lemon forward and good, but it's just something that we like.

I had been here once before and the food was so good I had to come back. By the time I got to my hotel, I was running late for my reservation and got a call from The Appalachian checking if I was going to make my reservation. I let them know that I had just arrived at my hotel, traffic on I-81 held me up and I was going to order an Uber as soon as I was off the phone. Coming from DC, I expected an Uber would be at the hotel door steps within a few minutes, I was wrong. I was then crushed by the realization that I was wrong, I wasn't gonna make my reservation. I knew that on a week night The Appalachian's kitchen closed at 9. Ride.I called them back to let them know of the situation and expressed my desire to have their Wood Fired Lamb. The Gentleman that answered the phone simply responded "it's going on the grill now, we will see you when you get here. F-ing amazing, turned my stressful and painful day completely around. We were greeted and seated promptly in a lovely little alcove near their patio, the perfect spot for old friends catching up. Our server, Olivia, was phenomenal, offering insight and recommendations into their seasonal menu items. We started with cocktails and appetizers. We loved the Roasted Beet Salad and Crab Bisque. Deee-licious! We then moved on to our entrees: Filet mignon (prepared Medium) w/caramelized onions & garlic mashed potatoes. The filets were seasoned and cooked perfectly - melt in your mouth, oh soooo good! Prime rib steak sandwich with caramelized onions & melt cheese. Opted for a side of grilled zucchini instead of fries. Also a big hit with our friend. I chose the night's feature dish of halibut and couscous. Nicely prepared and delicious. Though we didn't have room for dessert, once Olivia brought the dessert tray by, we quickly made room! My husband chose the Blueberry Bread Pudding. Of course I had to taste! I'm typically am not a fan of bread puddings due to being heavy and somewhat gummy! This one was absolutely light, and yummy allowing the blueberries to shine. Our friends shared the NY cheesecake with fresh strawberries. Also, light, fluffy and delicious! I chose the key lime pie with toasted coconut sprinkled on top. Incredibly good with light tartness though I prefer more tart. Still, it ranks up there as one of the best I've found. Some attractions sell an experience…read more Some sell a product. The Apple Barn Cider Mill somehow manages to do both. What started as a simple stop turned into one of the more enjoyable experiences of our trip. The star of the visit was our guide, who took us on a cider journey through the various flavors and offerings. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing. She answered questions, explained the differences between the ciders, and made the tasting experience fun instead of feeling like a sales pitch. And since there's a chance she might somehow see this review: Happy 40th Birthday! Sorry I forgot your name, but your hospitality certainly wasn't forgettable. Now let's talk about the cider. Excellent. There was a large variety of flavors available to sample, making it easy to compare styles and find a favorite. Whether you're new to cider or consider yourself a seasoned enthusiast, there's enough variety here to keep things interesting. After sampling our way through the lineup, we wound up purchasing a glass of the original apple cider and enjoyed it outside. And honestly, that's where the experience really came together. Sitting outside with a fresh cider in hand, playing cornhole and Jenga, enjoying the atmosphere, and slowing down for a little while made for a genuinely relaxing afternoon. No rushing. No crowds pushing you along. Just good cider and good company. We also picked up a growler to bring back to the hotel because one thing became very clear during the tasting process: leaving empty-handed would have been a mistake. The Apple Barn Cider Mill does a great job creating an experience that's welcoming, fun, and memorable without feeling overly commercialized. Great cider. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Five stars. And judging by the growler currently waiting back at the hotel, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
