The atmosphere is good and our server was very friendly. We had a good bottle of Spanish Rioja (the…read morewine menu was all Spanish or Chilean wine), but the food was disappointing after reading the good reviews. The octopus was chewy and over cooked with very little flavor. We were really looking forward to it but cane away very disappointed. The accompanying potatoes were similarly flavorless. My wife ordered the beef stew. She received a huge chunk of meat without any broth. We weren't sure where the stew part got lost in translation. The beef had good flavor but was similarly over cooked. The side of rice was a soggy, unappealing mess. I ordered the Paella. Being a Spanish restaurant, I had high hopes. But I received a bowl with a leg of chicken, some over cooked shrimp, and a half body and claw of crab in shell (also over cooked). Call me a snob, but when I think paella, I don't think of having to crack crab and eat chicken off the bone. I want to spoon up delicious flavors together. This paella was none of that. And I get that restaurants do their own take on meals and maybe I'm traditional but there should be some sausage in the paella. It was really unappealing and I gave up trying to fork out the bits of crack and shrimp from their shells. I hope it was just an off night for the chef but based on the food, I would not recommend Sitges if you're looking for quality Spanish dining.

I was a little skeptical walking in since it was completely empty on a Saturday night, but I'm so…read moreglad I committed and sat down. The place is very charming and the food is excellent. We started with the tapas of the day which with came with various charcuterie and cheese over bread. They were very good and came with some sort of spread (garlic?) to really enhance the flavor of each bite. Lamb sliders were surprisingly good - the bun was fluffy, lamb was tender and juicy, with just a touch of cheese and greens. Pan seared yellowtail and potato gratin were perfectly good, the yellowtail was meaty but buttery and tender. We had a little ordering mixup so we ended up getting the pork and beans, but even as a mistake order, this was thoroughly devoured and enjoyed by my fellow diners. The fideua was everything I wanted, and the reason I was drawn to this place. It's not often you can get this. The noodles were perfect, not too greasy and the seafood was well cooked. I definitely recommend Sitges - it's a little more expensive than some of the places in the area, but the food, service, environment are all excellent and for what you're getting, it's actually very fairly priced. It's also a nice/unique departure from the local flavors (which are amazing but sometimes you just want something different!)

Our group was in town for over a week and ended up here a couple of times. The first time we went…read morethere we got a table right away. We lucked out as the place was pretty full already. The second time there was about a 10 minute wait which worked out great because I ended up discovering Baja's Awesome Beach Rides about a block away and booked a horseback ride on the beach for the following morning. The people there were very welcoming and service was excellent. The place was clean and orderly. Tables weren't too close to one another and the bathrooms were nice and clean which is a big plus in my book, I got a kick out of the large sign on the wall with funny phrases on it. It gave me a chuckle when I read, "Bill Gates never eats here" with the word never printed very, very small. And, "Two beer or not two beer" with the author noted as William Shakesbeer. I tried their coconut shrimp as well as some of their sushi rolls and it all was fresh and delicious. The second time we were there we brought some fish we had caught earlier in the day and they prepared it for us. Of course that wasn't the only thing we ordered but it was great to walk in with fish and let them prepare it for us. Timing was perfect on everything. From ordering drinks, to the main course, and dessert, everything was brought out just when expected. I was never having to search out a server. They seemed to be right there when I needed anything. Very attentive. For desert I ordered flan, which I prefer on the firm side. It was just as firm as I had hoped and had a hint more cinnamon than most which I really liked. We also had some of Pedro's homemade ice cream. It was a creamy and delicious treat. I give them 5 stars because they were friendly, attentive, served good food, had nice ambiance and, most important, were clean and organized. If I am blessed enough to return to Los Barriles I will visit La Casita again.

Tried this place a year ago, I did not like the food or would recommend this restaurant…read more I ordered a pork chop with arándano sauce, the sauce tasted like marmalade spread over it, so sweet and unappetising. I know people in town enjoy it, I didn't like my food, or what the other people on the table ordered either.
