    Re H.

I dig this hip little store on Magazine. I noticed their tshirts and stickers before I even knew who or what they meant. Reminiscent to that of Shepard Fairey and his own Obey symbol. I like that. One of a kind items. I've picked up groovy tees for friends, stickers to trade across the globe, postcards with witty sayings stuck around my abode and a super cool Brent Pafford ceramic pitcher. It's not a big box glossy store, so you'll have to seek it out. It can be easy to miss. I've got it down now, but the first time I drove around it a few times. Go. Seek. Look. and if you feel the urge....pick up a little something.

I love this little store! Well, I have been buying from them for some time now. I like their products. Part souvenir, part print media. The staff is helpful and will get you what you need. There is also a little sale bin, you might miss it if you blink. It's worth putting your paws on and see if the design on sale is talking to you. This reminds me of the stores in Portland, OR. It has a little of everything which is great. The better part is the products are crafted quite well.

This is the type of t-shirt shop that all t-shirt shops should want to be when they grow up. It's in a house on the corner of First and Magazine, and if my Lyft driver hadn't dropped me off at the front door, I may have missed it completely. Look for the subtle DNO sign. Once inside, I was greeted right away, and then left alone until I asked for assistance. The shopkeeper woman was very hands-off, but helpful once I spoke to her. There's a very hipster, holier-than-thou vibe going on here, but I didn't find it to be inaccessible. Ladies apparel is on the left side of the store, and mens to the right. One of each type of shirt is displayed on the hangers, and you ask at the front counter to see it in your size. This adds an extra step to the process, but it allows the shop to have more of a minimalist appearance, which I really dig. In the center of the room and in the upstairs area, there are a bunch of books, art prints, and gifts, all relating to New Orleans. Also in the upstairs area is a rack of vintage NOLA and Mardi Gras shirts, likely scrounged from goodwill stores. They were all just as soft as the new shirts up front, so I would imagine they were washed in a vintage rinse like you see on Pinterest. When I was ready to make my purchase, I showed the woman at the counter the design I wanted and she brought one out in my requested size. I'm almost always a medium, but I had to go up to a women's XL for a decent fit, and it's still a bit snug in the midsection. Not great for the self-esteem. Two shirts plus tax came to $55 even. About average for nice shirts in New Orleans. I'll absolutely be making another trip the next time I'm in town, and this would definitely be the first stop I'd make to buy gifts if I were local.

The best local clothing shop in New Orleans, period. Whoever came up with this clothing line should be famous...wait, I take that back. Defend New Orleans is one of the best kept secrets in clothing. Beside the usual shirts and sweatshirts with the great DNO logo, they also have pins, patches, flags, note books, underwear, and much more. The shop is just as unique as the clothing line. The store has no address, and its basically just a small room on the corner of Magazine & 1st, which at one time was probably the living room of a house. The employees know their merch, and using an iPad to cash out your order is quick and efficient.

I didn't love anything inside, it was a little sparse and a really random collection-- but I took a free postcard that was cool!

Cute local store that has reasonable priced local items. The ladies in the store are nice. A great place to buy presents.

I took the dress home, then found out the event I had been planning to wear it to was canceled. The following Friday I went back to the store to return it. No one was there, despite the signage and the website saying the store should be open. I called the number on the website and a different number on the front door asking when their hours were. Didn't hear back. Okay, fine. I sent them an email. Never heard back. I went back to the store the following Sunday. They're closed despite the signage, again. So finally on May 16th I bring the dress down there a third time, on a Saturday this time, and they're open. They explained that they don't usually do returns, but that they'd allow me to make a return this time, in exchange for a gift certificate, but it would take a few days to process. They wrote down my email, phone number, physical address, and said they would get back to me by the following Tuesday at the latest. I also left the dress with them, which now I see was a stupid move. It's June 2nd! I've called them! I've emailed them! I've physically gone down there, and they were, surprise, closed when they said they would be open! They have obviously not responded to anything. So: I don't have a dress. They have my $200. They're not returning my calls. What am I supposed to think, here? I'm obviously never buying anything from them again, and I strongly suggest you don't either.

The Sales Person there was BEYOND sweet! And oh SO helpful!! It was literally a joy walking around the store! I didn't find the dress, but I left with the cutest shirt ever. And it was on sale!! Win - Win!! I'll certainly return and I'd highly recommend this little gem!

I fell for quite a few pieces including some summery maxis, peasant tops and long cardis with interesting hemlines. I wound up purchasing a classic navy and white stripped off the shoulder pantsuits ($69), the EXACT style I have been on the hunt for unsuccessfully until hitting up Armoire, and an adorable marble clutch with brush gold clasp ($38) large enough to hold my massive phone which I had yet to find anywhere after YEARS of looking!! I was also able to use 10% off with my Yelp check in! Thrilled!! A friend I was shopping with snagged a gorgeous beaded evening gown to wear to our friend's wedding for just $65 right off the sale rack! Unreal! No doubt will I be hitting up Armoire when I'm in town again! Soooo worth the journey down to Magazine Street. Take the street car!! Sales staff was incredibly helpful and kind! Store was well stocked and well merchandised by style too. Their buyer/owner should be commended for the collection they have going on here! Accessories and select home decor items were wonderful also! What a fab find! *Follow them on Instagram and shop their racks online!
