Like everyone else, I'm going to go ahead and call this store really cute. They have a great selection of shoes and they were even having a really nice sale when I was here. Whether you are looking for "night on the town" type shoes or just casual shoes, you will find some good deals here. When I was here I was looking for some shoes to go with my Halloween costume. The woman working was very helpful and although I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, I saw enough to know that I will be returning whenever I am in the need for some stylish pumps. Why on earth is a guy reviewing a women's shoe store? Two reasons: 1. My wife is addicted to the place, and they really helped me out when she wanted shoes for Christmas. The employees were able to point me to directly what she wanted. They knew which size she get in that brand. they made it really easy on me. 2. Get outta here! I don't have anything to prove by carrying around a Feet First shopping bag...even if I can afford to. They do offer a nice selection of shoes and accessories, and there is a sizable selection of mark downs toward the back of the store. Feet First appears to be a New Orleans institution of sorts. There's a variety of colorful shoes in the $60 - $100 price range as well as hats, reading glasses and costume jewelry. What I really like is the NOLA couture line they carry which has dog collars, key fobs and ties with cheerfully preppy motifs (slightly out of place given that the rest of Feet First's merchandise is vaguely boho). I like the Feet First at this location best since it feels like a place where true New Orleanians shop but there's also a Feet First in the French Quarter in the 500 block of Royal in case you are in that part of town. read more

This is a really cute store that I would love to go play dress up in. They sell so much more than shoes. They sell many pretty purses, accessories, jewelry, and other fashion nick knack things that you would never think to buy. Like I just got a pair of "Boot Tux". It's to help my pants stay down in my boots. I am absolutely in love with their miniature headband hat collection. Perfect for costumes! When I went in today, they were having a moving sale because they're moving across the street! Not sure about why they are moving, but I'm excited to see how it improves their store. read more

One last review update from my annual Magazine-Street-Black-Friday-Shopping-Extravaganza with my Mom. I'm in and out of Feet First all the time. They have cute stock and let's be honest...it's the closest shoe store to my house. They have cute accessories and great sales. And what made me stop in on black Friday? Promises of mimosas and free chair massages (from the new spa that's opened across the street). My Mom found some cute gifts for the nieces and I, of course, bought more shoes for me. read more

When Feet First has a sale, they really have a good one. I always leave wishing I had a really small size foot bc that's where alot of the great deals are (lucky girls with size 5-6). A couple of weeks ago I was looking for a Pella shoe that I fell in LOVE with. They researched it for me and although they were not able to get it, they let me know when they promised they would. And if they don't have what you need in stock, they will do a bunch of research and find it for you. Besides shoes, they have a great selection of sunglasses (local Krewe brand!), purses, accessories, etc. And attention all Nola brides-to-be! I broke my sunglasses about two days ago and really needed a new pair (the sun is beaming here in New Orleans!) I've been really tired lately and my eyes were hurting and needed a little less light. I went into a few stores on Magazine St. to see if they had any sunglasses that were made to my liking. None of them did, so I tried another store, Feet First. I have been in here a few times and didn't really think of much of it (my name is Bella, but you can call me Frank ;), It seemed a bit over priced for the type of merchandise that is available. Anyway, I went looking around for sunglasses and the only one's out for display at the time were in a display case. The cashier proceed to explain to me that they were made of wood, but I honestly wasn't listening because I didn't care what they were made of, I was looking for style and none of the sunglasses in the selection were of a style that caught my eye. So, I asked for another selection. The owner ( I am assuming she was the owner,) went into the store room and brought out a tray with more sunglasses. As I looked at the tray, she proceed to tell me how relatively inexpensive those sunglasses were to the ones in the display case. When I asked her if she had just referred me to these sunglasses because they were inexpensive, she proceeded to reason her choice of words by saying that it had nothing to do with the price and everything to do with the fact that she overheard the cashier saying to me that the other sunglasses were made of wood and that the other ones were of lesser quality and that's why she said they were inexpensive... because she thought the reason I didn't want the other sunglasses was because they were more expensive than the others not because of the price. Ok, the words price and expense are of the same family. They both relate to the amount or cost of something. Those wooden sunglasses were probably around $100 or so. I will pay $100 for a pair of sunglasses...... THAT I LIKE! I didn't like any of those sunglasses, which is why I didn't want them. I didn't find them to be of my style... it had nothing to do with whether I could afford them. I then proceeded to ask her that if her reasoning had nothing to do with the pricing, then why would she bring up how relatively inexpensive the other sunglasses were? She went back into the circle of the quality of the other sunglasses and why the other ones were less expensive. Again, my decision to not purchase the wooden sunglasses were because they weren't my style, not because I couldn't afford them. Her assumption was that I couldn't afford them, not that I didn't like the style. I'm black. I'm a lawyer. I can afford them. I don't like them. I'm never going into this store again. read more

I enjoy shopping in this store and they have a nice selection of shoes. However, recently 3 friends of mine & I chose to look for shoes in feet first on Magazine. While shopping we all had a great experience in fact, all four of us purchased shoes. Some of us bought several pairs of shoes. Once we left the establishment the salesperson from feet first called & stated she had given an extra discount on one pair of the shoes & she needed authorization to charge an additional amout on the credit card. I understand that this is a business & none of us would intentionally take anything. This error was the sales clerk not my friend & it was not only in poor taste but poor customer service to call for less than $15.00 discrepancy after we spent in total almost $1000.00. Although it did not directly happen to me I was offended when my friend received the call. I have lots of friends that visit from outnof town or various events in the city but I will NEVER shop here again! Nor will I ever recommend this shoe store to tourists.
