Paperwork says it takes five weeks to process online - his license expires next month- Instead of waiting for it to process told him to just renew it now - Well.. three stars because he will lose the renewal fee that was sent in the mail... I dropped off my paperwork in the front of the DMV 6 weeks before my driver's license was to expire. Unfortunately, my doctor forgot to check off one box. It came back to me one week before it was expiring on my birthday. Because of the weather the DMV was closed for a couple of days. I was in a panic because I was flying out the next week. So here I had to go into the DMV which I tried to avoid in the first place. Aspen gave me an appointment the first available was in the middle of March. I told her I was flying out the next weekend and showed her the proof of my flight. She left me for a moment and came back and told me that they would call my name and got me in that day. She really didn't have to do that, but she wanted to help me. She was so kind and thoughtful. I also had a great experience with Gaby. She also was very kind in this matter. How is it that after decades in existence and all of the technological advancements made to assist organizations just like this one, the DMV experience is still the same? More than a month ago I made an appointment. I was pleased to receive the email and text reminders and those asking me to confirm. I arrived 30 min early for my appointment and I confirmed I'd arrived as soon as I was in the parking lot. I checked in at the kiosk as soon as I arrived as well.l, and I even checked in with the questions clerk to be sure I had checked in and had all the documents I needed. 30 min after my appointment time I checked the status link texted to me and found I still had an hour to wait. How is this acceptable? Making the appointment wa shortcut enough bht learning I had to wait more than an hour from the time is just infuriating. The DMV is the only organization that can exist with this level of service. What's the point of an appointment if you're asked to wait as long as those walking in?

I was hesitant because my needs were a little complex, Business vehicles swapping plates with a new registration and surrendered plates. Well, it went a little something like this. It was 2:08pm when I got to the counter. I told Lucy my story and she gave me candy (I was turned away at the Commercial DMV and was pretty pissed) we went through everything, she repeated it to make sure she understood and we were off registering vehicles and surrendering tags like crazy people. I walked out of there with everything I needed complete, absolutely complete! AND! I still made it to another appointment I had at 2:30pm, Yep, you heard that right. I'm halfway between the guy who said "This was way easier than the DMV" and my own opinion of "Why…read moreis this just as hard as the DMV?" Truth be told, for most things it's a lot easier, but apparently registering a boat with a motor of any kind requires nearly an act of Congress. Earlier this year I bought two plastic layout boats that had mounts for an electric trolling motor. I could use the boat with or without that motor, but of course the plan is to motorize them at some point. For that reason, I had to pull these plastic floating rectangles you slide into down to NDOW for an "inspection", which was nothing more than them looking at the boats, which I assume was to make sure they're actually boats, match numbers on a certificate of origin and taking a photo for the record. Prior to doing this I went to NDOW with all my paperwork to find out what I needed to do to get these registered. I laid it all out on the table and showed the woman what I had and was told I needed to bring them for an inspection along with the certificate of origin the seller provided me and we could get it all done. The reason for three stars is because after following those instructions I was told my paperwork wasn't sufficient. See because the paperwork was in the name of the seller, they would not accept that I owned the boats. Even though I had every piece of paper provided by the manufacturer and the title to the very trailer they sat on, it wasn't enough to prove I was the rightful owner. So after all of that, I had to track down the prior owner, bring him a bill of sale form (which they provided), get him to sign it, and then return to NDOW to complete the process. Because these plastic floating rectangles will have a motor on them they needed to be officially inspected, titled, and registered, and this process took me as long as it's gonna take to register the trailer! So if you have a kayak and you want to put a motor on it for any reason, you'll need all that and more. Kinda ridiculous.

CONDITIONS: The Department shall issue without charge a hunting and / or fishing license, upon satisfactory proof of the requisite facts to any actual bona fide resident of the state of Nevada who has incurred a SERVICE-CONNECTED disability which is considered to be 50 PERCENT or more by the United States Veterans' Affairs and has received upon severance from an honorable discharge or certificate of satisfactory service from the Armed Forces of the United States.
