I was dead wrong, It was a year. $518.00 was the bill, I could have been angry, like the people in front of me, or like the people in back of me, but Joe, the DMV employee turned everything around. It was time to renew my drivers license. Unfortunately, I needed to go in because I needed to update my address on my Real ID and the Visalia location was the only local DMV taking appointments online. What is there to say about a DMV? It's never fun to go inside and I'm always reminded of LVP (IYKYK) every time I enter one. There were way many mask-less people packed inside with several sneezing and coughing. The entire place reeked and just felt dirty. I too was mask-less, so I hope I make it through the next couple of weeks and avoid the COVID-19. The only thing that I can say is that the employees that I dealt were very helpful and friendly and the counter staff were moving quickly to help their customers. I was in and out in under 20 minutes. I highly recommend the online appointment I'll give it 3-Stars because of the staff and online appointment service. Everything else was terrible. read more

I just want to send out a special thanks to Mr. Reyes at the Visalia DMV. Today I had my second meeting with him; the first was related to renewing my drivers license in January. I cannot praise him enough for his neighborly demeanor, his kindness and his thoroughness. I didn't have an appointment today, but I was directed to his office in less than five minutes from entering the doors to the scary DMV. I did not receive my auto registration in the mail this year, my tags were due, and I only ascertained that day before yesterday. The policy is quite different and from now on, we won't be able to renew our auto registration at the DMV office. So I must say that I was very fortunate enough to have been directed by Mr. Reyes as to what to expect next year. He was most pleasant and thorough. Thank you Sir for a pleasant experience at our DMV's haunted mansion! It is the month of Halloween right? Seriously it wasn't even scary! read more

They answer your calls with a sh*tty computerized phone agent that doesn't even understand what you're saying. It's a huge pain in the ass to wait for it to explain itself every time you call. All I need is to ask a simple question. Then this robot hangs up on you because they don't have enough human agents to take your call. They must be too cheap to offer human connections here. Most unprofessional place on the planet. They have the easiest job, but still make it so hard for everyone else. To start, the security is a bit rude. She also put a man in the appointment line who didn't have an appointment and when I said something she said "I usually let the people who are hurt go ahead." All because he was limping.. like okay let me act injured so I get out to the front. Then the worker at window 1 recognized someone from the check in line and called him over to her window and helped him. So I guess I also wish I knew someone who worked the window so I could, again, go to the front. Everyone wants their issue taken care of and it should be in order by when you walk in unless you have an appointment. Then the lady at window 1 had him go to window 2 and they were both helping him. Causing everyone else to just wait longer. Super unprofessional, unfriendly, and unorganized. Why have a line if you aren't going to run it properly and like a line. read more

Not your old DMV!! Let me tell you when I say I was dreading going in to renew my license, I was DREADING it! This was by far the most efficient, friendly, DMV experience I have ever had. Five star review. Had a 920 appointment and was called to the window at 910. I was out the door at 935. Being prepared with the proper paperwork and going on line for the Real ID application at home was the key to success. At the window next to me a guy was whining and started complaining and yelled this is BS. The clerk was professional. He clearly wasn't properly prepared. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!!! read more

Long lines and bad attitudes... sounds like a good title to a country song. I had not one but TWO miserable trips to this establishment in one week. All I needed was to renew my license and it took over four hours each trip. The staff don't assist with any direction on which line to go for help, and the sign they do have is totally misguiding and of no use. My mistake not making an appointment I stood in line but didnt take long. But it sure was busy! I always hated DMV- the only cool thing they're open on Saturdays but by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Sucks they dont have that self serve machine to get your registraion sticker. I just dislike DMV related because you speak to a tech on the phone and they say something that you should do and when you go to V physically they tell you something else and you just waste your time! I am completely for having someone around to help people fill out forms on the computers; however, I don't see why they have to have everyone wait in line while they help one person, work on one computer, as every single other machine sits unused. If a person doesn't need help, why do they have to wait? Why does an entire line of people have to wait while someone else gets helped, even if they don't need help themselves and will be allowed to work, unsupervised, once they finally are allowed on the machines? What does this policy provide besides frustration and wasted time? read more

Hat's off to the Visalia DMV. Have been trying to resolve a certificate of title issue. Made 3 frustrating visits to the Hanford DMV without success. Finally decided to make an appointment at the Visalia DMV. Arrived about 15 minutes early; went right to the check-in appointment window (no waiting in the appointment line like at the Hanford DMV), and within 2 minutes was at a service window being helped (emphasis on the word "helped"). 30 minutes later I was on my way home - issue resolved! Hanford DMV needs to send their entire staff to observe the Visalia operation to see how true service oriented professionals function. read more

I had an appointment at 10:20 and I walked in at 9:30 for my registration and they took me RIGHT away! The process was SO easy and I was in and out within five minutes. The staff was so nice and it was the most pleasant experience I've ever had at a DMV! Make an appointment; totally worth it! I've never walked out of a DMV with a smile on my face. I went to change my MO license to CA realID. I thought it was going to be horrible from all these reviews. It wasnt bad. The only thing that surprised me was having to take the written test (passed it. Commonsense questions). It was the normal dmv circus like everywhere ( go to this line. Wait. Ok now go to that window). But it only took 1 hour total to do everything. No app't. Everyone was nice especially the security officer. He was helping everyone. Soooo dont let these reviews scare u. The skinny, old, may be Mexican but looks phillipino dude is a dick. Asked him about the new license plates which I described as old school and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I pointed at the one on the wall and he acted like he couldn't see it. I said the dark blue or maybe that's black and yellow ones. He acted like he still couldn't see it. Finally he says in a condescending voice that's black. It's not like the dmv comes out with different plates every year, he knew what I was talking about. Get there when they open and even without an appointment you'll be out within an hour. They had someone tell you if you had all your paperwork before the doors open so if you were missing something you'd know before waiting in line. They let disabled go first so they didn't have to wait in line.the guy at the door helping was so nice and awesome. read more

ZERO STARS BECAUSE OF ONE EMPLOYEE. Not sure of his name, you'd figure I'd know it by now since I get stuck having to deal with him nearly every time I go in. Chubby Latino dude usually handing out ticket numbers (not the dude with grey hair and mustache. That guy is cool) there has been only one time this entire year he has helped me and didn't give me any shit. Always saying our paper work is incomplete and always trying to say I can't submit papers for my husband when the people at the next desk are doing the exact same paperwork I am. Title transfers, and reg. One time he told me I didn't have paperwork for a trailer filled out correctly because his dumbass thought I was trying to say it was a car. He glances at the paperwork, tells you you are wrong, it's not complete and won't even give a number ticket to talk with anyone else. Last week I went in to turn in paperwork for a car we bought out of state and he said couldn't do anything without my husband being there. Made an appointment at a different office. Went and submitted the paperwork. Paid for the transfer and reg. Had to provide original copy and come back to complete it all. Went back to visalia office today with everything in tow and he still said it was incomplete. Walked outside, called to check on the paper and low and behold he was wrong again. Walked back in to let him know and hen he tried to say t was incomplete because the emissions wasn't filled out. Hey, dummy, the car doesn't need to be smogged because the year. I tried to point that out and explain we already had everything done and were told to just bring original paperwork instead of the copy since we already paid for everything. It even said that was all we had to do on the receipt they print out and he still wouldn't give me a number. Immediately left that office, went to a different location and they did it in less than two minutes. It took everything I had to not go back into the Visalia one and show him I was right. I don't know what his deal is but he's getting ready to get a complaint filed. I will never set foot in the Visalia office again. I know it doesn't matter because they still get our money, but good lord almighty I will turn into a screaming banshee if I ever get face to face with him again. read more

I went in asking for a fee waiver and the manager Michelle #20 denied me but a Hispanic gentleman named Ismael had his approved and our reasons were the exact same. She knew she couldn't undo the lies she was telling when confronted with the fact that I knew this. Now I'm stuck having to go through Sacramento office to get the basics done that should have been done in the 2 hours I wasted in the office. Please put Michelle #20 at the front of the training your office is having on July 24, 2019. She needs to be fired and if not, then realize that what you do for one...you do for all. read more
