Would put zero stars if possible. Everyone there is so rude. Have you waiting for hours on end or even tell you to come multiple days for them to stay they can't help you. Have so much booths but only have 2-3 people available at a time. Tulare DMV is hands down the worst place you can you go if you actually want to get stuff done or fixed. Agents refused to help individuals even when they have an appointment when trying to renew license we attempted to use the kiosk that was available, but it was not working. Agent still refused to offer any assistance stated very rudely well there's a number there. We don't do that anymore. The employee at establishment are so rude. They do not help with any questions. They first tell you to use the kiosk and then once you are completely done they tell you no, you weren't supposed to do that now you have to wait until one comes in and go pay again for a damn real ID. read more

I love spending time at the DMV; said no one, ever! I lost my drivers license earlier this week, and with a great sense of dread, I made my way to this DMV location without an appointment to order a replacement. I grew up in this town and I remember when this small location opened up because it looks exactly the same as it did 25+ years ago but is now very cluttered and run down. The service however, was exceptional during my visit. From my check-in, to filling out the application for a Real ID, to the final thank you's after taking my photo was a total of 26 minutes. That has to be world record time. I will definitely use this location as my DMV office of choice. read more

Even with an appointment there's a significant wait but I'm sure its about the same as a walk up person. One thing about this location is ur definitely packed in here like sardines. Omg can't have a private conversation with the reps at the counter working the people sitting about 2 feet behind ya and yep we looking straight at their behinds as the chairs are that close. Tulare DMV use to be great at customer service always knowledge and kind with customers. NOW they are the worst rude short and snippy with an awful attitude. If you don't like your job go find another. It gives no right to be rude when a customer ask for clarification when a different employee has provided a set of guidelines and when you get to the window thinking your fully prepared to be told a whole other set of criteria. I will be going to visalia from now on not that I have much hope for that office either. I just hope enough time has passed that they are better at serving customers than they use to be. Seriously considering going to a 3rd party registration service just so I don't have to deal with jerks when I have dmv stuff to attend too. Do better Tulare DMV. read more

The young man up front was very helpful but I didn't realize I needed more documents. I returned home and gathered everything I needed. Today, I had all my documents needed for my new license and a very rude lady turned me away after looking at what political party I vote. Really, I said she handed me a paper with what I needed so I left. I'm reviewing what the paperwork says I need? I have everything I needed to move forward . I've never been to a DMV as organized as this place was. I liked how they had a greeter as you walked in. She asked what we were here for and then directed us where to go. Unfortunately, for a little bit we were stuck with a rude lady dressed as Harley Quinn (I'm talking full-on makeup). But I'm happy to report that the other two ladies we had the pleasure of being helped by were absolute gems. Overall nice DMV. Make sure to make an appointment ahead of time. read more

Super bad service, there is these one rude lady that doesn't do her work right I don't know why but every time I get her, my paperwork doesn't get done! But in the other hand there is these other lady who is a real dream came true she is super nice and finishes the wok of the other rude lady. Having an appointment only means you wait in line to obtain a number to be waited on. In other Counties you have an appointment and they serve you at that time, not give you a number to wait. Today I waited in line at 730am for the doors to open at 8am. After they let in the scheduled appointments, we entered,I was 7th in line at 8am. They gave me a number "B001" and I am still waiting and its 935am. I asked the lady for an approximate time for service and she said I was next, that was at 917am. I have watched numerous people leave that have come in after me. I purchased a quad, have the title and only need to pay the fee and change it into my name. It's now 938am and I was just called. This wait is ridiculous. I have had appointments in the past and had to wait over 1.5 hours, this time I figured I would try without an appointment, no wait time difference. read more

Had to come to the Tulare DMV since the Visalia location is temporarily closed due to mold being discovered in the building. Which is very unfortunate for the time being. But the Tulare location is a joke. Full house but yet no employee seems to move with urgency in this place. Being that people have to commute to Tulare you would think they would have extra staff to help out and get through people in line quicker. Being someone who works in customer service it's frustrating to see everyone just move at their own pace. Currently been here for over 2 hours just to renew a DL. I get it you guys get paid either way! Boooo! But maybe you guys should be paid for the amount of people you actually help through out the day. Or maybe possible incentives for hitting goals for what you've accomplished. Just a thought possibly. Had to come back three times because they kept telling me incorrect information regarding what to bring to change my name. I brought exactly what their cheat sheet asked for but it wasn't enough. Woman said I could print out what I showed her on my phone. I went home to do so and when I returned another woman said sorry that doesn't work we need mail. I just moved I have no mail. Recently I took my granddaughter three hours to Tulare for her drivers test. Everyone with whom we met were courteous, helpful and efficient. The driving tester took the time to calm her nerves. He gave very clear instructions and directions. She passed and we were out of there in an hour. Thank you Tulare DMV. read more

My husband was just in there office a couple of weeks ago to renew his license. He also opt to get the "Real I.D." had no problems. They took him right in. Meantime 8days later counting business days only. Hi, I need to renew my DL but getting the real ID instead. I'm the 3rd person in line wait time 5mins on a Friday. Sorry, but all computers in Calif are down for anything that has to due with a DL only. They've been down for 3 days now but you can always check back with us on Monday morning. Meantime my DL is now expired. I went back on Weds 11days & there still down! Went back today its 17days there up now. But you need to go online & print out the paperwork for the real id & come back with forms filled out! They did not tell me this from the 1st or 2nd time & now this is my 3rd trip! Oh the kicker waited for 40mins flipping HOT AS HECK flies from you know where! And you tell me this now! This girl was rude as heck! Neatless to say I'm driving with a expired DL & for toppers I have to go in for jury duty! Some ppl had walked up to the table & the staff from the dmv told them the line starts on the other side. The staff person could of said it nicely instead they were very rude! They were looking to see where the line started & which side they need to go too. It wasn't as they were trying to cut in line. The staff there need to learn how to be much nicer to the ppl. If they can't handle working in such a busy type of gov. office that you know your always going to be swamp from the moment they open until they close. If they can't be friendly they need to rephrase whats painted on there window there! Knew pharse "Our office is rude, not friendly & we don't miss severing you!" On February 4th, 2019 at 10:35 am I had an opportunity to experience the DMV office in Tulare. When arriving I stood in the appointment line with all of my documents to register for a "Real Identification Drivers License" I was greeted by Gloria, the last name wasn't shared, but she said she was the only one. Gloria was hoarse and rude with her tone and demeanor she was extremely condescending. She asked me for verifications of my document at which I gave her every piece listed on the website as required for the "Real ID." Gloria is in a customer's service role and a representative of the State of California in a first contact roll. It was clear that she was either not trained or unqualified for her position at the DMV. She set a negative tone that caused me to carry that same rudeness to the rest of the DMV personnel. It is clear that there is a severe management issue at this office that needs to be resolved. I can't imagine how terrible the working environment is in this office as it pours so quickly onto the customer. If this were not a state office this business would fail as a regular business, I was given a number and waited an additional half an hour even with an appointment. Finally, the decision to perform DMV services out of a shopping center is ludicrous; the is no room to park, no room to sit or stand, the office is degraded and filthy creating a health issue for the employee's this office should be shut down or moved immediately. I can only imagine that this facility is exceeding its occupancy capacity that is creating a fire hazard putting human life at risk. I strongly suggest someone look into the management decisions being made around this office before some gets hurt and decide to sue. read more

Other than one employee, named Riley, the staff and experiences I have had there have been very professional and as quick as they can. But, my last visit was just too negative of an experience for me. Having to watch her act very fake towards customers and act like they are stupid for not knowing what to do, did not make my 2 hour wait in line a pleasant one. I understand dealing with customers is hard and I commend her for constantly keeping a smile on her face, but when she rolls her eyes at customers and seemingly talks down to them, just makes everything else about her very fake. Standing in line for 2 hours with little to do but pay attention to the negative atmosphere generated from such little compassion, made it a miserable waiting experience and would happily wait 4 hours elsewhere. read more
