After having a stroke in mid March, my father and I came to get a temporary handicap parking pass. The process was smooth and quick. Additionally, I had to add my father to my car title since it only listed my name and I currently cannot drive. We should have had an appointment for changing the title. We also arrived about a half an hour before closing, which I know can typically be frustrating for employees. Not only were Jaqueline and Anna polite and patient, even encouraging us to take our time, numerous other employees jumped in to further assist. All were beyond helpful and personable. Overall, excellent customer service and professionalism. Thank you for creating a positive DMV experience!

I received excellent, friendly, and helpful service from the employees of the Naperville, Illinois, DMV. Thank you to all the employees of the Naperville DMV! You and your services are both needed and very much appreciated. Thank you to all the Naperville DMV employees for your service to our community and to our State. God bless.

Does anyone really like going to the DMV?…read more I recently visited the DMV in Dekalb as well as this location in Aurora, so my review is 5 stars based on comparing the two. While none of us probably wants to be at the DMV, here's why I am giving 5 stars to this location. As I approached the entry door there was an employee standing there that greeted me and asked if I had an appointment. I had an appointment so I was then directed to go to the first counter to check in. At the first counter I said what I was there for and I got a ticket or number for the next counter. Once you get your ticket you sit down and wait for your number to be called and it's also up on one of the TV screens displaying the line queue and which counter has called your number. The whole process in and out was less than 30 minutes for me and there were a lot of people waiting, so it was busy. I was also recently at the DeKalb location which really needs some funding for upgrades. It is a smaller facility but they are severely understaffed. I could only see a few employees working and one of them was running between checking people in at the front desk and running back behind the counter to work on customer cases. They just yell out your name, they don't really have a ticketing system or a TV screen showing line queue information or which counter. So, if I'm comparing the two locations I would say Aurora is much nicer. We don't always have the ability to pick which DMV location to visit, but if you do you might as well pick a nicer one.

The wait time for extremely long and when I got the service desk for my ID, the service rep was unprofessional and unhelpful after waiting almost 1 1/2 hours to be called. Never coming back here again and wouldn't recommend. I suggest going to the Naperville office.

There's not much they can do about this. All windows were open for processing, even ancillary booths that don't have numbers. All workers with the exception of one were extremely friendly and helpful. Total time from queueing in line to finish: 2.5 hrs Arrived at 6:50 am. Already 150 people ahead of me. Finished at 9:20 am. Here's the process: FOR license / ID: -line starts on SE side of the building, loops around the front sidewalk, and goes to the rear of the building -workers will inquire your needs and validate documentation while outside in line -once inside, photo and identity is taken -then residency and ID needs brokered at separate counter -pay cashier in separate line -move window over to receive temp license -done :) receive new license in mail in 3 weeks FOR vehicle registration: -line starts at back of building -cannot speak to specifics as I was grabbing a real ID only Tips: -be patient. Read a book, watch a show, listen to music -review all required documentation online before arrival -organize all documentation with paper clips / sticky notes per grouping (signature, DOB SSN, residency). Multiple workers will request specific items along the way. An out of state license (signature), passport (DOB), social security card (SSN), voters registration card (residency) and bank/mortgage statement (residency) are what I used for switching my license from MI to IL real ID -test is waived for out of state licenses if your current license is still valid (not expired) -bundle up if it's winter. You'll likely spend hours outside -get there early. By the time I left at 9:20, the line was around 250 people long -bring a lawn chair if you'd like to sit while in line

The examiner declined to provide any details. Additionally, we found the examiner's behavior to be unprofessional. When my daughter's name was called, she approached the examiner, greeted her politely, and attempted to shake her hand, but the examiner did not acknowledge her. I also observed that while the examiner initially followed approximately 10-15 feet behind my daughter on the way to the vehicle, she then walked directly alongside the next candidate's examiner instead, which appeared inconsistent. During the test itself, the examiner spoke very little--no more than a few words--and at one point raised her voice when instructing my daughter about driving "in the middle of the road" while navigating around a partially obstructed vehicle. This interaction was upsetting to observe...do better.
