I can't believe how efficient the new process is! I made an appointment online (and was11 minutes late). The person who helped me was highly informed and clearly explained my options in processing my real id application, I paid, and I took a new picture in less than 15 minutes. I had to renew my Real ID driver's license this year, but it required me to do it in person, so I made an appointment two months in advance and chose this location because it had the earliest availability compared to other DMV locations in the area by a month. My appointment was at 2:20 PM, and I arrived at 2:00 PM. You still have to stand in the outside line under the "appointments" section. I got in fairly easily; however, there were two more lines inside. The line for people without appointments was super long. After I got my number, it took about 40 minutes to be called to the window. After that, the process was a breeze. I went on a Tuesday, and it was packed I'm pretty sure it's like that every day. There is seating inside, and the employee who helped me was cool. I would never come here without an appointment--it would easily take 2-3 hours, in my opinion. I just received my driver's license yesterday, so about a week after my appointment. There was no effort to explain the process or requirements -- instead, I was expected to somehow already know their policies, and was treated poorly for not understanding them. So when visiting a DMV it's always a hit or miss with all employees. Today's visit was good until I had to take a picture when renewing my ID. The lady that help me renew was extremely nice! Seems like she's happy to work at DMV. The lady working the picture booth was extremely rude. She should not be working with customers. Waited in line for almost 30mins, By the time it's my turn, a white woman with tattoo told me to fill up some papers. So I did, filled up everything and waited for my number to be called, but she kept calling people in. When I come up to her, she told me "YOURE NOT IN MY CUE, HONEY, ITS BEEN OVER 15mins" I told her I've been waiting because she kept calling people in. And she's like, if you want get another cue or if someone doesn't show up, I'll call you in. Mind you, people, if they give you 15mins, you'll see your cue on the screen. But after I talked to her, my cue never showed up on the cue. So it's clear that she removed it. And keep in mind, she didn't tell me in the first place that I only have 15mins then they'll remove me from the cue if I don't show up. I don't know why it's so hard for other people to be kind. Probably because I'm Asian and she's white? DMV, you can do so much better. I know your workers are tired but people patiently waiting for their turn are tired too. read more

First time I've ever been in and out of a DMV within 10 minutes for a license renewal. Parking is plentiful. Having an appointment earlier in the morning makes a huge difference. I dont mind waiting but this place made me get 5 different numbers just to get a dl renewal for a real ID i live 3 mins away from here and getting my documents wasnt so bad but they will ask for documents 1 by 1 and even will ask for your citizenship even if its not stipulated on there website. Just in case you need to go inside the DMV office, they now use kiosk machines inside to help with most common service like , drivers license replacement, registration and identification cards are available. This office (Fontana) is very crowded most of the time. The good thing for me is the system they use calling numbers works out well. I got a number and sat down waiting for my services. The lady at the front desk Lisa R, was very helpful to me and my needs. Yanai (window 18) was the next person to help me, she as well was very nice and attentive to my needs, and Melanie (Photo window A) was the last person to help with my needs, she to was very friendly and helpful to my needs. DMV always gets a bad rap on service and quality while you wait inside or outside. Well I'm here to say I support these three very important women in their office, their efforts go far and beyond to make sure all is well before leaving the office. I've never had a problem using this office. Great Job read more

The appointment online on the website where you get in line was a great experience today! I went in on a Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM. I got in line at 10:15 AM online. I was number 32 originally and in 20 minutes I was down to number 24. I headed over to the DMV and I was number 17. I waited about 10 to 15 minutes and I received a text message when I was number 7. This is a great system! The clerk that helped me was really serious though. I wish that she would've been more pleasant. I felt like she was questioning me instead of asking me professionally what i'm here for and what documents I had. After verifying that I had on my documents, she had me fill out a form electronically to verify my information was correct and asked me to head over to the camera line. Don't show up during the last couple of hours before they close because apparently most of them are too tired and hungry already and they just want to go home, even though they are still on the clock. Expect less than satisfactory assistance and even worst customer service if you are still waiting inside after they close the doors at 5. Since when does the DMV can not register a vehicle without a bill of sale while having everything document in order, this according to the old rude big woman in window #3 and her just as useless supervisor. First the dmv website offers a line check in but I was on refreshing the screen from 7:58 am to 8:03 and it was not coming up. So I drove immediately. When I got there the inside line was full but not outside yet. So that wasn't too bad. But you check in first then get a number to be called up. So honestly if you go in as soon as it opens you can get out within the hour. At about 8:30 the line was already out the door. Also make sure you're paying attention to your number. Make an appointment to the DMV. We had an appointment at 10am. We checked in at 9:30 and my daughter was able to take her written driver's test within the 10 mins of checking in. The staff was friendly and patient with us. My daughter was a little nervous, but the staff encouraged her by telling her to take her time with the written driver's test. It is busy. There's a lot of people, but there's plenty of seating, and clean restrooms. Overall, my daughter and I had a good experience at this DMV. read more

Today is March 2nd, my appointment was at 2 PM I went into the DMV to the appointments line of where, a very rude lady wearing a dark navy, blue or black professional coat with a pink blouse and a big bushy ponytail of curly black hair was extremely rude, rolled her eyes and refused to answer a basic question. I asked her, which was, ma'am am I in the right place, Am I in the wrong line, even though I was in the right place, she went on to Badger me and to tell me that I must stand in the line where the sign was over the line of which she was sitting directly under the sign, I cannot believe she was so rude. When I brought it to her attention , she repeated herself even more rudely , then rolled her eyes and said that she was not helping me. The rudeness that I experienced in this short narrative was staggering. I was\nAt the appointment line , I had scheduled an appointment and arrived thirty minutes early and asked a question and was treated like I was a homeless derelict with no right of being there or asking a question. I went on to make a complaint after I concluded my business. When I was when I did check-in and get to the correct window, the associate at that window who helped me with my renewal was very nice. I aired my grievance to her and she got me a manager. I shared my experience with the manager. Then I filed a complaint online on the survey. Now I'm putting a Yelp, because the woman at the front desk should never be in a customer service position or ever be allowed to work in the general public, her attentiveness to a customer was appalling. She was rude, abrasive and outright a terrible person. I told the manager of the d m v that that woman at the front desk wearing the navy blue or black jacket with the pink blouse and the big bushy , curly haired ponytail , needs to be fired because she is what's wrong with the world today! Passed my second try here i'll give tips so you can pass. I failed my first time with Jocelyn because I was going 42 in a 50 so make sure you're 45+ in the main road 30-35 for the rest of the streets. Jocelyn isn't the worst but she will not give you any warnings just straight up fail you and will be very monotone. I've heard that the African American instructors are the best and that the lady with the mask is just as rude as the guy who passed me. There's an older guy he doesn't tell you his name but you will know who he is if you get him. Extremely rude very mean will make comments. Will shake his head and try to make you nervous but do not let him get to you he touched my steering wheel but still passed me. He seemed like he was gonna fail me the whole time but if you drive like normal you will pass. The line is also long as hell so come like an hour 30 sooner just in case you have plans afterwards. There's one other guy who seems nice but i don't have any experience or stories about him. Just try your best and don't let them get to your head that's how they test to see if you can handle the road if you cry or show weakness they will fail you. He talked me down but i held my cool and I passed with the meanest instructor. read more

The older white male uniformed security in the beige shirt monitoring the front door has an issue with women or people of color. I had a scheduled appointment for 4/4/25 at 10:20am. I provided appropriate documentation to prove I had an appointment today. He asked what I was there for, and I told him to renew my driver's license. He asked me for the time and date of my appointment and I told him today at 10:20am. His response was, "Next time you speak to me, give me the date and time." I won't be returning to this location for a license renewal so I'll be sure to never see this man again. Also, I waited over an hour with an appointment so this is not the best location for scheduled DMV appointments. Lastly, the soap dispensers are empty and no paper towels in the bathroom. read more

I've never had a bad experience here. Everyone has been helpful. I find when I go, watching the lady which is probably a manger call people to counters 1, 2 and 3 super funny. Funny to see how many people don't follow directions. I will say, watching the line que helps the time go by. I would also like to mention that it helps researching what you need and what services are offered before make a drive. This will save you a lot of time. DONT GO HERE. Parents - if your child needs a behind the wheel test, take may advice and choose another DMV. We arrived 15 minutes early for a 2pm drive test. My daughter was here to retest and Elizabeth at the check in desk asked if we had all of our paperwork ready. My daughter said "yes". Elizabeth had us sit down for at least 10 minutes before calling my daughter to the desk. When she asked for the paperwork is when my daughter realized she left her paper drivers permit in the car. Elizabeth then dryly replied "you can have 5 minutes to go get it" and then stated she could have "until 2:16". My daughter literally ran and was moving so quickly that she inadvertently jabbed herself in the eye with the car key. My daughter was in so much pain that I had to finish the check in. We were waiting over an hour in line for the test when we decided we should go to the ER. I went in to try to reschedule the appointment for the following day which the DMV girls at the desk refused to do. I told Elizabeth that her behavior to rush my daughter to move in 5 minutes only to wait over an hour in line to take a test was ridiculous. Her reply was "she said she had everything" in which I told her that these kids are nervous, anxious, and have been waiting for what seems like forever for this day, to maybe use a little more grace. AVOID Elizabeth and AVOID Jose as a behind the wheel test instructor. If you do decide to go here, expect to wait an hour and a half or more after your scheduled test time. read more

One of the lady's at the appointment line check in was very nice and helpful she's amazing no complaints there, and the lady who you have to speak to after taking the driving test, amazing, honestly there were no problems except for one lady. at window 14 on friday dec/19, she seemed extremely prejudiced. Gave attitude and honestly her attitude matches exactly how that heffa looks. With her snaggle toothed barbaric look self. she told my relative that because he had type 1 diabetes, his learners permit wouldn't be acceptable until she had someone contact him to discuss it. Come to find out after looking into it that is NOT dmv protocol at all. All she had to do was ask him if he ever loses consciousness, does he have seizures, and does he black out from low blood sugar. After, he WOULD have responded no because none of that is true, his diabetes doesn't impact his ability to drive at all, then she could've approved him to be in his merry way. But no she told him he had to wait and he asked her how long until someone reaches out, she said she has no idea. Bitch please.
