Third time, just trying to get my DRL renewed, and after getting there an 1hr.45min early, I am 5 people from the flake at the service desk and he says YOU ALL HAVE TO LEAVE AND COME BACK TOMORROW, it is 4:15pm and they close at 5:00PM. Wait...What?!? So because they get paid by the hour and they take their sweetest time we (the ones who work , and are losing time and money) have to spend another day in the nightmare. They were extremely disrespectful and I overheard a worker, whom was giving the driving test, tell a family to reschedule and that they had failed simply because the young lady had driven to the test for her license, with her mother in the passenger seat. Which is legal. He had no reason to do that except putting his issues onto others. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. read more

I went to this DMV this morning and everything went very smooth. I wish they offered appointments that weren't months out so you didn't have to wait in a line, but if you get there early, it isn't a problem. Some workers will come out and ensure you have all of the proper documentation that you will need for your service, so you don't wait around to find out at the desk. I am only taking 1 star off for the line and no appointments, but otherwise, it was a smooth process. read more

Today I had probably the worst experience I have ever had here. In the front, there is a sign with QR codes to scan, so that's what I did, and was provided a ticket number (at 2:15pm) and told to wait in my car d/t the lobby was past max capacity and they would send a text when they are ready for me. They made an announcement telling everybody to stop asking how long it would be til they would get seen d/t that making even longer wait times and yelling that the lobby was too crowded and people needed to go to their cars. I got a text at 3:45 that said "please proceed to the lobby, your ticket #___ will be called shortly. If you need to remove yourself from the line, text leave." I went in the lobby and watched a bunch of other ticket numbers be called and asked a lady at 430 if I missed my number, and she said it hadn't been called yet. At 4:58 I saw a lady go up and they skipped my number so I went up after that lady left, and asked if I would be taken care of since it was almost 5 and the waiting room was cleared out, and she said there was a problem with their system and it was messing up numbers. She was very helpful and offered to help me. I informed her I got married and am just needing to change my name and add the real ID since may is when that has to be done by, she informed me I had to have my name changed on my ss card before that can be done as that will cause some problems, otherwise. I have applied for my ss card name change, but haven't gotten it back yet. Had I known that was a requirement to begin with, I would not have gone to the DMV today. I was previously told it didn't matter if you changed your name on your ss card first or not. Anyways, I was in the DMV from 2:15-5 today and absolutely nothing was accomplished, and the only helpful person was the lady I talked to at the very end. read more

Never thought I would give this government entity five stars. Here's the skinny to a perfect experience: 1) Make an appointment online. 2) Bring all required documentation, forms of ID(s), and some cash. My experience? About $20 at least. 3) Arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. Because it's COVID-19 time, bring a mask! 4) Lastly, smile! for your photo. This trip lasted 17 minutes tops. I even snuck in a bathroom break and still got out quick! I know others didn't have a good experience like I did. You'll have to make sure to plan ahead! read more

Expect to spend 2-3 hours here and check the website for required documents. You can make an appointment online for renewal, road test, etc. but if you're a new resident you're looking at a long wait. I arrived at 10:33am and waited outside in line until I was let inside at 11:58am to stand in another line. Finally they saw me at 12:38 and I was done by 12:45. Lady with black hair and glasses is mean and acts like a gate keeper lmao but everyone else that works here is so sweet!!! Just wish they had more people to make it go faster read more

Waiting in the snow for 2 hours to change my driver's license, the lady was standing out side said I had everything I needed and I was good to go , that's why I stayed for 2 HOURS !!! I finally get my number called and I get up there , the lady then tells me she can't use my mail , EVEN THO THE LADY JUST TOLD ME IT WAS PERFECT!! . Horrible! The lines for this office have been hours long for weeks. I understand with Corona the changes being made, etc. but making customers wait outside for 25 minutes in 27 degree weather BECAUSE OF OPENING LATE IS UNACCEPTABLE! Worst place on the planet. 4 lines open and no one is working, literally waiting over an hour and the line hasn't moved. They don't give a damn either. It says a lot about a place when the employees are walking around looking lost, dazed, confused, and downright bitchy. Seriously, the crowded and insane DMV in Washington DC ran much more efficiently than this place. I'm a tiny bit embarrassed of my hometown. I checked in with merely three people ahead of me and left two hours later with my license. I got so much more than I came for too! For example, I learned from the two employees talking in front of me all about a difficult customer (lady walking around the place who was PISSED), learned about her disability claim, what she expected, how rude they thought she was...the whole thing. They didn't care that I was standing there listening to them either. I am never hateful in my reviews and perhaps I will edit this one somewhere along the way AND try to be nicer but it's doubtful. It is 11:38 am on Wednesday, May 25th. Murfreesboro,TN was just determined to be the fastest growing city in the state of Tennessee and one of the fastest growing cities in US. Yet, DMV has a total of 3 to 4 workers total working a completely full room of customers. We are customers which DMV quickly forgets and we pay their salaries with our taxes. DMV is a disgrace and seems like you step into a country that is 3 decades behind on processes. And procedures. The workers are rude and it's very apparent they hate their jobs and have NO urgency. I'm simply here for a gun permit renewal and have been here for over an hour and a half. They called my number and gave me an application to complete and had me sit down to complete and now I've been done for about 20 minutes with application and still waiting. Who is in charge? Yes. Be prepared to wait. Look around at the traffic and it's a really good indication that there are lines at this office. And oh yes, it gets old. Fast. That being said, I have NEVER experienced a nicer group of people at a state office. Pam was my son's examiner and could NOT have been kinder or more helpful. Her co-worker, Xavier, was also really great. These are the type of people I'm happy to deal with: Workers who answer the same questions and do the same thing, day after day...so it can really get old to THEM, too. Yet, when you come up (if YOU are nice), they treat you as if you are the first person they ever dealt with. So thank you Pam and Xavier. Waiting IS a pain in the -SS. But the end result made it a bit more bearable with employees like you! read more

Absolutely impossible to get anything done here. We arrived HOURS before they close and they had stopped allowing people in the waiting room, even though there were plenty of open seats. When I asked why, the woman at the front desk spoke to me in a tone to suggest I was a child who couldn't understand simple words. I was very polite when asking why we couldn't be seen hours before closing time. She was also very rude to the man in front of us as well. Do not waste your time here. Viewing previous reviews allowed me to prepare for this experience appropriately. In addition to all your paperwork, bring three forms of entertainment (movies, novels, etc), snacks, and all your available patience. I felt lucky (after reading that others waited three hours) that I was in and out in two hours with my new TN license! Of course, this was an extremely straightforward application, so allow for more time if your mission is more complicated. And I'm also glad to report that all the employees who served me were pleasant and civil, if not terribly motivated. The facility was fairly clean, though there were prison-like gouges in the wall of the waiting area and the toilet paper dispenser had been torn from the wall. Still, better than expected! read more

I visited this office today, January 24. I was prepared for a long wait and a bad experience, because I had heard so many horror stories. However, I could not have been more pleased with the service and quick service. The young lady at the reception desk could not have been nicer and more helpful ... very sweet! The young man that assisted me at Station 11 was very efficient. I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes! Working at the license bureau can be a tough, thankless job.
