Three very large oak trees had extensive growth extending over my roof. My insurance company had demanded that they be trimmed back. In addition, a gutter downspout was draining directly onto my driveway which they wanted me to redirect. Chris and his crew trimmed the trees exactly as discussed. He was able to set up his equipment in my driveway so as to traverse all areas and trim trees in the front of the house. He used a ladder and ropes to get up to trim tree branches in the backyard. There was no damage to my yard. All fallen branches were put in a wood chipper and carted away. the yard was raked clean. It was cleaner when they left than before they arrived. Chris brought a section of gutter with him which he used to redirect water from my driveway. I was both surprised and pleased. Cost for the above was very reasonable.

Fortunately they had fallen on the ground, causing no property damage. I called Andrew, of Trout Brook Landscaping to take down the damaged branches. Andrew has done tree removal previously on my property and on my parent's, so I knew he would be the perfect man for the job. Andrew is extremely professional, responsive and skilled in his line of work. He immediately came with his equipment, and took down the heavy tree branch, and he cut down the damaged branches off the dogwood tree. He of course cleaned up all of the tree debris. My current lawn company could not offer this service rather Natural 'choice' could. For 2 years they were servicing a tree- until one year I got a call for my lawn fertilizing. Like a normal human, I made the mistake of thinking this company was the company that I normally used. They came and I was getting double billed for my lawn care. It took 2 rounds for me to realize that this was happening again because the names, logo and invoices all look the same. As soon as I figured out the issue- I called to cancel. Unfortunately, this was my error however good business practice would not be to act rudely to the client or make them feel bad or to read through old notes of conversations to throw back in a customers face. I get it! I am a human! I made the mistake of thinking you were my lawn service when you called to ask if you can fertilize my lawn for the season. I mean you both have NATURAL and LAWN in the titles of your name!!! Seriously- why are we disputing that this could NOT be a common error When I called to cancel, you read old notes to tell me that you made clear to let me know you were NOT my other company. Rather than try to issue a partial credit, or provide empathy to a client for an error, even though I admit some fault, so did you, Right? Should your approach have been a little nicer to me as a client - you would have been paid but because of the attitude, rudeness and outright harassing phone behavior. I'm not paying you because you were partially wrong in this as well. Note: in order to have kind, loyal customers its important to treat them kind as well. I will NEVER use your service again because of how you chose to treat me over the phone- this is my 'CHOICE'. Maybe work on how to deal with clients who are unhappy or want to cancel because in the end - they will post reviews like this on yelp. Because they did great work and I want to rave about it!…read more Let me tell you a story about a California girl named Krystle who was whisked away from San Diego, and left up creek without a paddle in this land called Connecticut. Being from California, the concept of trees, vast open spaces of land, and inclement weather are foreign to me; I needed help. My lawn was too big to mow myself; and I didn't want to add another chore to my bf's house upkeep list. We received a flyer in the mail from Highwood Landscaping offering a discount so I decided to test them out. Lawn mowed; no problems! After that test run, we kept them on for scheduled mowing, and I've been nothing but pleased. Then the Fall hit, the leaves were everywhere, everywhere, everywhere! We don't have this many trees in Cali! I never knew it could become such a problem. My lawn was definitely bringing the value of the neighborhood down, as it had become such an eyesore covered in leaves. But luckily, Highwood could take care of my Fall Cleanup as well. Phew. Leaves cleaned, no problems! And now that the snow has finally thawed, and the sun begins to warm my soul; I recently was reminded that there is life outside my heated living room. After several weeks of watching them closely to make sure we just weren't missing it, we politely asked if we misunderstood the services we were paying for and they responded by denying they neglected the weed-whacking and cancelled our service all together because the yard was too "bumpy." Perhaps they shouldn't have been mowing over the ONE tree our yard has and used a weed-whacker over the roots instead? If you want cheap, go with Highwood. If you want quality professionals, look elsewhere.
