After following up with KBD after my review, I learned a few more things…read more KBD can act as full-service designer and general contractor, you can start from scratch with them and they'll measures design, and do ALL demo, installation, plumbing, electrical, countertops, etc. Because I was referred by my designer, they just quoted me cabinet installation. Which is exactly what I wanted, I saved SO much money by doing the rest msyelf. Also...I mentioned in my review that they quoted me one day for the whole process. They did not. I misread an email from them. They did not actually give me an estimated timeline for the project, but they told me you can expect about one day for every $1,000 of your quote. Just be sure to add a little extra padding on the end of that before you schedule your countertops to be measured.

We used Watermark (and Steve Jackson) for what we considered to be a fairly major renovation…read moreproject at our home in North Dallas. My wife and I found a home in our "dream neighborhood," but we wanted to make some upgrades in the kitchen, living room, and master bathroom. Over 3-4 months, we did some major work (i.e. "take it to the studs" in most rooms) and Steve got it completed on time and on budget -- with many compliments from our friends and family. Before the renovation, we met with several different contractors that provided a series of construction plans and budgets. Steve did that too, but he offered so much more. Most of all, we were impressed by Steve's attention to detail and his keen eye for architecture. For example, most contractors "eye balled" the room measurements. Not Steve. On his first visit, he took measurements of every room and could immediately work with us on room design (or re-design) that helped us envision the yet-to-be-completed project. In addition, other contractors "suggested" that we hire an architect to help with the plans. But the bonus of working with Steve was that his architecture background gave us a "two in one" that could help us envision how we would utilize the house (i.e. you'll want the sink here; the oven here; the pantry here; a door here; etc). In my opinion, this was a huge asset to our remodel plan as we were able to review (and modify) building plans before we started work -- and Steve had some excellent input about "the flow" of our certain rooms in our future layout. Before selecting Steve, we spoke to about 5-7 people that worked with Steve on prior projects and they all offered glowing recommendations of him -- and his work. During the renovation, Steve worked hard to keep his sub-contractors on schedule and routinely updated us on their progress. If we had a modification to our plans, Steve was always willing to find a solution. He also worked closely with us to select light fixtures, cabinet designs, and granite slabs. For other parts, he worked with my wife to "create" her dream kitchen and they would routinely share photos from magazines or the internet so he could best understand what we were "looking for." He did some major work. New hardwood floors that look excellent. A new "rain shower" with a built-in bench that my wife loves. Expanding our kitchen by moving the water and A/C to the attic that allowed us to put an island in the kitchen. Removing a massive (truly massive) fireplace and installing a natural gas fireplace. This was not an easy job and his work was excellent. Now that our remodel project is complete, we can offer our highest recommendation for Steve and Watermark. We are truly happy with the final outcome and it was not a surprising result given Steve's hard work and incredible attention to detail that we now have our "dream home."

I have sent an email on their website, as well as left a message on their voicemail by phone. Have not received a reply or a return call. I called again on two separate occasions, and no one ever seems to answer. What appealed to me about this company was the before and after photos posted by another Yelper. I'm wanting to change the layout of my kitchen, in addition to other extensive interior remodeling. With the architectural background this company has, I thought they would be the best choice. It's just unfortunate that they have poor communication with new/potential clients. Rapport is so very important in huge investments such as home improvement; and so far, I don't have a very comforting impression with how this company engages with its clients.

Since I am unable to successfully solve the problem through contacting your customer service…read moredepartment via email, I'd thought it would be able to get an answer this way as well as be able to allow everyone the feedback from the screens for our double French door. It's been a month since we have installed our screen. The first two weeks the screen closes well and latches without a problem but after that, the screen, when it is unlatched, the screens gets stuck mid-way or farther and does not retract all the way. In some circumstances, the screen does not pull back evening, leaving the screen to get detached on the bottom leaving the unprotected screens on the bottom to pop out. Secondly, the two screen doors does not to latch on easily and typically requires you to slam it close in order for it latch on and stay latched - surly closing the screen doors this way will ensure the screen door will not last as long as I anticipate. For paying more than $500 for the screen, I would expect more it to last much longer than 2 weeks. Customer Service, Amanda, claims that I must pay additional fees to have the screen rework as I was the one who slams the door. Well, I'm asking if the screen latched on the first time I try to close it, I would have to use force to close it in the first place. The screen is clearly a manufacture problem but the customers have to pay for the defect. This is certainly ridiculous. If I don't get this problem resolve, at least the social media community will understand the issues I'm going through before placing orders.

5 Stars! Seems like…read morea lot of haters on here opted for the cheapest options and then felt it should have been the best quality? You get what you pay for you cheapos LOL! These guys helped us with our screens that needed to be replaced. They answered our emails and phone calls in a very prompt manner and we even got the measurements wrong(our fault not theirs) and they quickly let us re-order with the proper measurements at a discount, again because of our errors not theirs. The replacements actually got sent out faster than the original ones. If we need to re-do any of our screens we will definitely buy from them again. You guys should buy and support small businesses! We went to Lowes and none of those lazy guys even wanted to help us!
